Soy good luck with the review, those sort of things are so time consuming, glad you are keeping the R&R jumper thank you for kind comments, lol at Friday tshirt😀

ilovecherries · 30/11/2018 09:57

I asked the same about my double star necklace a few threads ago, lily, but sadly nothing I tried worked very well. I think I need a new one which is very annoying.

Today I’m on a train again. I’m wearing oasis skinny jeans, a white fluffy jumper from H&M and trainers.

Huffthepuff · 30/11/2018 10:12

Here's the Other Stories coat. Second try on today and it's definitely a keeper. Just love it. I was worried about getting my work bag over the shoulder as the sleeves are so big, but actually it's fine (stops enabling self to buy a cross body black leather bag, not really, I'm still looking)

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 10:22

Its gorgeous @Huff. Definitely keep!

NotAnActualSheep · 30/11/2018 11:02

Love the coat huff - it looks great! The zip is really unusual and the shape works well on you. i think you'll get used to the sleeves - they don't look too big at all.

Good luck with your call gin. Understandable to be wary of unknown calls, but you've got DS and all his washing to look forward to! Which is the MV meryl? Im getting confused with all the meryl-ly jumpers.

I love your styling thoughts waterlily - I really need to become more adventurous. It doesn't look ridiculous on you at all...it looks amazing! yy to happy clothes Smile. But Im not looking at your Whistles link. Not a chance. You've already sucked laska into it or maybe she's sucked herself in?! So, no, not looking. Though that burgundy/pink pleated skirt is really nice..wonder if that'll be in the sales..

Im impressed with laska's quince jelly too. I love that.

Good luck with your review too soy. I always felt tempted to write things like "I'd have done more this year if i hadn't had to sit in so many meetings discussing how we were going to do more productive work, and then writing reviews about how successful we had been at it..". But thats why I'm now self employed and dicking about on mumsnet rather than doing any productive work and I STILL have CPD reviews to do for January...

NotAnActualSheep · 30/11/2018 11:13

These are the two dresses that I'm hopefully not keeping. I like the longer one, but don't think I'd be devastated if I sent it back and it then went out of stock. That's going to be my new yardstick, I think. I don't think the Tara works , really. And I have a similar me and em dress that I don't wear that much so not sure why I thought this would be different. I just had a craving for a green dress for some reason...

Happy Friday everyone..sorry I've not been on much, thanks for the nice comments about the TU dress..I do like it but wondering if I should have sized down as it is quite loose..mid you with the amount of boozing and eating U'll be doing over Xmas, that might be a blessing!

@dontcallmelen you look fabulous in that black dress..corking pins! I noticed the gorgeous rainbow Monsoon jacket you posted earlier, there is a dress in that range in Monsoon that I love at the moment too..it's like a shift dress in rainbow sequins...I have absolutely no use for it or funds to buy it, but it is so pretty..loving your jacket too.

GinandGingerBeer · 30/11/2018 11:50

Ive been eyeing up that whistles animal print jumper every time I go in JL, it's quite a fine knit and just a bit too ££ for me. It is lovely though.

This is the MV meryl a like @neveradullmoment99

GinandGingerBeer · 30/11/2018 11:51

Infact ignore me I'm going maaaaaad! It's from Cos not MV GrinGrinGrin No wonder I confused you 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

SoyYo · 30/11/2018 11:55

not you’re so totally right re year end review BS...and yy to the amount of time we waste in internal meetings where sweet FA is accomplished. Oh the stories I could tell! Angry
This thread is more real than any of it and as you say such a relief and welcome diversion!

Now I’ll be honest. As beautiful as you looked in the Twiggy that second dress is a fail. Return ASAP it does your shape no favours but I can tell you being exactly the opposite shape of you (top heavy, slim hipped vs triangle like you) it looked awful on me too. It’s unforgivingly body con and the only peeps I’ve seen looking good with it are very flat tummies true hourglasses or very slim boyish shapes. Please don’t take it the wrong way as my comms style is unable to do the culturally polite Brit thing of “I’ve seen you in better things, not too bad, etc”.
The first one on the other hand looks pretty good (and much much better than I looked in it), I’m not 100% sure it’s a keeper I need to see another pic to give a truly positive thumbs up.
Hope this helps you!

Huff I do really love how the coat hangs on you, it’s such an unusual (meaning lovely no polite euphemism) shape! KEEP! And well done on all your returns, you’ve a sensible head on young shoulders. Smile

GinandGingerBeer · 30/11/2018 11:58

@Not! They both look nice, I have 3 Tara's and they're a Work staple for me and seem to hide a multitude of sins. The last one I got though (grey) is thinner material and much smaller than the burgundy and black ones I've had previous years. I didn't try it on and chucked the packaging as I was confident it'd fit and it's a bit too tight really.
The longer one is nice but I guess a bit more formal?

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 12:02

I agree with soyo. I like the first dress on you although it is hard to see from just the one angle. On the tara front, I have had a few and have liked them on me but have felt self conscious with my tummy from the side. I don't think you should keep it for 2 reasons. I don't think it flatters your figure and you have one already and you hardly wear it.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 12:04

I am wondering in the second picture if you have pulled the bottom half down too much. I would pull it up with a few ruchs.if you know what I mean.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 12:06

Oh and @Huff. That jumper is lovely. Its a fabulous shape.

NotAnActualSheep · 30/11/2018 14:23

soy -please don't feel you have offended me!!! I totally agree with you - and I'd much rather have a critical eye, rather than get told things look great, when really they don't work on me. Thats what DH is for. I kind of knew it didn't suit me, and think as never says, I would feel conscious of my tummy (and legs, if I ruche it up a bit more!). And the other one i have is longer and I think a bit more flattering on the tummy (more drapey) - but i don't wear it cos it feels a bit "bottom-y" Blush which isn't the impression I want to give at work.... I can see how they are really good at work, but just not for me, I think.

I tried getting other photos of the other one, but realised when I did that that wasn't great from other angles either! So I think they are both going back. Which is fine, as I'm hardly short on clothes...

On the plus side, I picked up the sainsbury's velvet puffa, which is lovely. I thought it was on the large size, and when I looked at the label they had sent an 18 rather than a 14 (right packaging and hanger etc, but both labels inside are 18). They don't seem to do exchanges annoyingly, and I got it with 25% off which has now finished. I may have a chat to customer services... Though in practice, it doesn't look enormous (well, it does, but it is supposed to) so I may just keep the bigger size.

I'll post photos in the next post...sorry, the lighting is awful as its just gone black outside and i think its about to p* down...

NotAnActualSheep · 30/11/2018 14:27

Here's the puffa.

Lovely jumper by the way Gin. I do remember that photo, but was confused by the MV!!!

Lovely jacketNot

Huffthat coat [and matching cat]look great

I found these coated trousers in Next
They are better than the MV treggings and cheaper and make my legs look less boudin noirSmile

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 30/11/2018 16:20

Those trousers look good Enabled.

I got soaked earlier and am currently lounging in my harems and hooded sloppy joe dolman. So comfy.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 17:27

That jacket is gorgeous @Not. Tbh, if i were your, i would contact Customer services and ensure they honour the discount since it is their error. Its not your fault it has been wrongly labelled.

SoyYo · 30/11/2018 18:31

Finished with work 😅 bring on the weekend!!!
not I do I do I do like the Sainsbury’s puffa, I can just see the deep blue velvet colour but yes to exchanging for a smaller size, I’m sure Sainsbury’s will honour the exchange as it was their fault sending you the large size to start with. Just give them a call and I’m sure they’ll sort out a replacement via post or in store.
I did really like the twisted green dress on you btw, but didn’t you find the jersey quality a bit flimsy? Mmm

purpoise so you like the Next coated jeans or not? (Wasn’t sure if you were being sarcastic) is that front seam flattering?

SoyYo · 30/11/2018 18:33

Oops meant enabled not porpoise on the Next leggings.

dontcallmelen · 30/11/2018 19:34

Not the jacket is lovely, sainsburys are usually pretty good so hopefully will honour discount, yy the dresses least you have scratched the itch.
Soy glad your Friday can now start in earnest.
Gin the jumper is really fab, I do like cos stuff.
Huff coat is totally gorgeous, a good buy.
Dave thank you, I saw that dress as well it’s sooo sparkly, I was tempted but I really don’t need any more sequins, I don’t need the jacket but it’s staying😂

dontcallmelen · 30/11/2018 19:38

Laska hope the jam making went well & you are ok.

dontcallmelen · 30/11/2018 19:39

Enabled I saw those jeans in next, last week they are really nice.
