Hmm
Ellapaella · 29/11/2018 22:39

Len you look amazing! I love your jacket, and it's perfect with your dress.

NotAnActualSheep · 29/11/2018 22:45

len As everyone else has said, you need to keep the jacket. You look amazing... perfect combo!

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 29/11/2018 22:59

Amazing Len! You need it.

Has anyone had the “copper and black” pop up on Facebook. Advertises this cilla dress -
www.fatface.com/women/clothing/dresses-skirts/cilla-sparkle-dress/937035.html?dwvar_937035_color=black#q=Cilla&lang=en_GB&start=1

So pretty.

Laska2Meryls · 30/11/2018 08:36

Morning Hushistas..

I'm currently wearing grey stripy Amies ( but of course! I have so many!) vest top and old cashmere cardi. Very 'slob around the house' , non?

What are your plans for the day ? I'm going to make Quince jelly this morning (started it last night ) .. after that i may think of new styling options for Meryls!!!.. Have been quite inspired by Waterlily and 'Ninja'Not

GinandGingerBeer · 30/11/2018 08:43

I'm not dressed yet Having a lazy day before I venture back to work next week,I have an OHS call later which I'm not particularly looking forward to as I'm not sure what to expect from it.

Might wear my new MV meryl-a-like and black jeans. DS1 is coming back from uni for the weekend, so looking forward to seeing him (best stock up,on food and washing powder!)
Glad you liked the idea of a brooch @Laska , be lovely if you can wear one of your DMs

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 08:52

Ive come back to bed lol...so am wearing cookie monster pj shorts and a hush tee!!! [ one of my old ones] Plans today? Well not much. Currently hibernating from the world under a duvet. Meant to be taking my mum to the supermarket at some point but its going to be later rather than earlier and to pick up the kids from school [dh runs them for me on a Thurs and Frid morning] Also have a couple of ebay parcels to post.

Ellapaella · 30/11/2018 08:53

I like that Cilla dress @PorpoisefullyObtuse - it's actually very similar to my Tu one.
I don't get on too well with FatFace, I like a lot of their stuff but often finds it hangs a bit awkwardly on me, not sure what it is but it never seems to feel quite right. I'm a bit between sizes there too - I need somewhere between a 10 and a 12 I find. If only clothing brands could invent a size 11!

dontcallmelen · 30/11/2018 08:53

Morning everyone, Laska sounds a good comfy slobbing outfit & making quince jelly, is a good way of relaxing & sounds yummy.
Gin hope the phone call goes well, when I have had to do that I have found them to be very helpful & quite sympathetic, enjoy the weekend with DS1 lol at stocking up on washing powder.
I’m on the nursery run later, so have dgd for the afternoon.

WaterLilyThursday · 30/11/2018 08:54

Morning lovely Husheeeeeeeetas :-) Hope you are all feeling good today.

I'm hushing today too - wearing the flower leopard dress from last winter's collection (I think that's what it is called).

Hahaha! Grin Grin Grin Have to say that I really laughed when I read @sheep's comment about the "outrageous oversizing" for me on the Meryl. It is almost (? .. actually???) ridiculous? I hope it will be ok - it's in Ireland with my sister now waiting to be wrapped for Christmas. I live in France - so I can't re-try it on until Christmas ... I tried it with a few different skirts (brown pencil wool skirt that has pink thread on the seams (not very tight) - description probably sounds a bit funny! ... and with a grey A-line woolen skirt - again not a tight skirt) ... so I deffo have at least three things I can wear it with Hmm Not sure how it will work for me with skinnies/leggings - probably would look ridiculous?!!! It's very big on me alright. It's the XS though (think you asked @Laska).

Thinking of you @Laska - I think it's such a lovely idea to wear your Mum's brooch next week - the perfect item of hers to accompany you on a difficult day especially since you both love fashion. Something that you can hold too during hard moments. And that bronze skirt is just fab - those kinds of skirts really suit you and you certainly know how to style them with gorgeous knits and boots. Such a bargain. I love finding something like that.

@len the dress is just beautiful on you!!! What a figure - swit swoo!!! And I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the sparkly jacket!! That is such a "feel happy" item of clothing ... it will make you smile (and others too) when you wear it. Deffo keep it!! I have a pink velvet midi skirt that I got last month in M&S and it's sort of the same thing - it's so shiny and soft and PINK and swishy and it just makes me feel so happy!! We should wear clothes that make us feel happy. I do like people were saying with my little girl too - lots of change-colours sparkles and tulle skirts - living vicariously through her for the things that I can't get in my size!!

Oh @Soy - you have to keep the RnR jumper! You looked so happy with your hand pose wearing it (even though we couldn't see your face - it was a happy pose!) ... and now that it's sold out, there would be no going back if you return it. Perfect idea to get hubby to gift it to you (and a surprise present too of course!!) for Christmas.

Delighted you got the striped dress @soup - it was really gorgeous on you and I think you'll get loads of wear out of it with black tights+boots dressed down or dressed up with heels and nude tights ... could be styled lots of different ways. Long cardi would be lovely over it too. Extra bonus that it was on sale AND you had the voucher - it was meant to be Smile

Question for people: I got the hush star necklace (gold) in summer 2017 and wore it almost every day for about nine months - I just LOVE it so much and it goes with everything. The chain has definitely dulled loads - so much so that I stopped wearing it in summer when I tended to have my neck more visible - stuck it on this morning for the first time in ages cos my dress has a crew neck. I wish I could restore it to its former shiny self. I think that at that price it should last more than a year. Any tips really appreciated!!

Loved all of the Meryl styling ideas Grin Grin Grin ...

Oh and @ella and @Laska - had a similar (slightly more strongly worded perhaps!) reaction when I got that mail from Hush with the 200€jumper - felt especially "off" after the much-coveted Meryl+Twiggy seemed to be completely OOS all during the 25% discount only to magically reappear once it was over Hmm.

Right - better get back to work. Sending you all happy Friday wishes x.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 08:55

Not going to over do it on the leather leggings front although I enjoyed wearing them so much. So debating over what to wear with the spicey ginger hush cashmere jumper. I have a gorgeous pair of washed velvet widelegs from boden that are a number of years old. I may shove those on and forget the day I tripped over the flared hem on my way back from the school run

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 08:58

@waterlily - I have read that coke can take of the tarnishing. No idea how good it is. You could steep it for a while and see if it restores shine?

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 09:01

You need to be cautious though as it is corrosive.

WaterLilyThursday · 30/11/2018 09:02

ps got a mail from Whistles just there - have never bought anything from them and amn't even sure how I'm on their list. Anyway, they have a jumper that could be interpreted as a Meryl dupe - though a more expensive one - so that doesn't make it a dupe really Hmm .. it's a cable knit as well - ok, so maybe it's just a "hint" of a Meryl ... Anyway ... in case anybody is tempted:

Whistles

Some other interesting skirts (I like the burgundy one with the pink on it - near the top - could be nice with Meryl )+dresses in this "limited" collection they've just released - all a bit dear though and, like I said, I have no idea of what Whistles is like - just saw the jumper and thought of MERYL!!

Limited collection

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 09:02

Polish silverware and jewelry
If your silverware or silver jewelry is gathering unwanted tarnish, you don't need to spend money on jewelry cleaner. Simply line the inside of a small bowl with aluminum foil and fill it with warm water, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and a teaspoon of dish detergent. Drop the jewelry in, let it sit for 10 minutes, and it should come out with a new, bright shine.

WaterLilyThursday · 30/11/2018 09:03

Thank you @never!! Will give it a try - I mean, if it's the choice between it just sitting in my jewellery box never being worn and a risk of corrosion, I'll take the risk ... thanks again!! Flowers

Lovely meryl dupe

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 09:10

My gold one is the same Waterlily. It looks very tarnished so will try it too.

Laska2Meryls · 30/11/2018 09:18

popped back with my coffee while sink is full of jars sterilising..
and see that Waterlily is Enabling WinkGrin

The Whistles chunky cable jumpers do look fab ( love the green) but also £££ and possibly may be to short on me .. BUT i love this animal print one (says Laska possibly enabling herself , but its Ok, you all know that I very rarely do that )

dontcallmelen · 30/11/2018 09:31

Ooh lovely jumpers, whilst we are enabling I blame Laska entirely for my jackets purchase, she was the one that came on & gave the extra 20% code for monsoon the other day😂
Yy wearing clothes that make you happy, the velvet skirt sounds lovely as do the velvet trousers.

WaterLilyThursday · 30/11/2018 09:33

ooops!!! halo sorry @Laska !!! That animal print jumper is beautiful! Can picture it with a certain bronze skirt ... and many other skirts (Marina??) too!!

WaterLilyThursday · 30/11/2018 09:34

haha! still can't do the emoticons properly!! That was obv. meant to be oops Halo !

neveradullmoment99 · 30/11/2018 09:37

@Laska, you looked lovely in the bronze skirt. It looked gorgeous with the hush boatneck. Could you wear that to the funeral? You looked so nice in it. Just a suggestion if you are looking for ideas.

SoyYo · 30/11/2018 09:41

Thank God it’s Friday! I used to have a t shirt when I was 17 years old with this on it and as I was stuck at boarding school hundreds of miles from home I used to change into it at the end of the school week. I met up with old school friends this summer who still remembered me wearing it.

Today I’ll be working on my end year review essay (really it’s that long winded to do on our HR tool) so have to think of all the good things I’ve done since Jan. Wink

Nice to see everyone in top form today. @laska I love dulce de membrillo (quince sweet) is that how quince jelly is? Hmm impressive in any case.

Wearing wide v neck top with M&S leopard leggings which is one of my favourite homeworking uniforms these days.

Thanks for all the enabling on the RnR jumper btw. Yes DH is very very good at panick buying something shiny like jewellery so I’m sure he’ll do that anyway Wink

And finally *Len I saw you in that black dress and immediately saw Audrey Hepburn. With that beautiful gamine shape (smugly identified by moi if you recall) you really carry off that dress beautifully, the sequin jacket being the cherry on the proverbial cake.

Ladies you are all fabulous!
Catch you laters 👋
