Next fluffy cardi update: It’s fab! It’s very heavy, silky feeling and has a subtle glittery thread running through it. It really feels like more of a jacket than a cardigan and if you’re one of those who was toying with the idea of a furry coat then this might scratch that itch somewhat. I tried to get a picture but you can’t see any detail at all so it was pointless - better to look at the website.

dave your hair is fantabulous!

Ella Superdrug also does a very well reviewed dupe of JM’s Mandarin Lime Basil in their Bloom range for five quid.

UtahGirl12 · 08/12/2018 19:53

My extra large Carpe Diem T shirt arrived today, but it's way too big. gutted. Out of stock in all other sizes. I really wanted that.

On the plus side, had a shopping/drinking day out with the girls and bought the yellow Holly Willoughby black and yellow dress from M & S on an impulse buy. Very different for me, but I love it! Can't do links otherwise I would!

dontcallmelen · 08/12/2018 20:05

Talisin that cardi sounds very useful & warm.
Utah oh that’s a shame, yeahy always good to get of the comfort zone, I bought a skirt this week I think the last time I wore a skirt I was at school.

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 20:09

I love that skirt @Ellapaella but wondering if it's a bit long. I wish I could pull off midi skirts but I end up looking irking frumpy

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 20:09

**looking

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 20:13

I ordered my first ever Hush clothes today from JL. Arriving tomorrow- fingers crossed I like everything. I'm also eyeing the Ada quilted crossbody bag & zebra star jumper (the jumper seems ridiculously overpriced so I think I'll wait & see if I like the quality of the bits I've got coming tomorrow before I take the plunge)

Ellapaella · 08/12/2018 20:26

@happytobemrsg if you're not keen on midi length how about the Meg skirt? https://www.hush-uk.com/m/megruchedskirtzebrablack_white.htm?trackterm=Meg
I have this, it's very flattering and it would definitely go with your black jumper. I wear mine with biker boots for a casual look and a heeled suede black boot for nights out.

Ellapaella · 08/12/2018 20:28

Not sure why my links are working but it's the zebra print Meg Ruched skirt on the Hush website.

NotAnActualSheep · 08/12/2018 20:48

Thanks for all the comments on the skirt(s) and dress! I think I will keep both (the red one I have anyway, but I mentioned it earlier cos it's my happy colour velvet skirt). The bronze skirt could easily be casual, and isn't necessarily too christmassy thinking about it...it's just marketed as a Festive Favourite so I was having doubts. It's similar to the marina in floatiness ( and v v fragile - I noticed a couple of threads had been pulled...which I don't think was me). The dress is a bit big in the shoulders never, but most dresses are on me, for them to fit on my hips/arse! (Fit and flare ones are better, as I can size to my shoulders/ waist, and the arse is lost under the fabric, but I find they can look a bit frumpy or like a toddler-in-a-dress if I'm not careful...). I generally hope the shoulders "flop" a bit over time, or if I wear it a lot, get the sleeves altered. I do like it though, so will keep, and I don't actually have anything similar at the moment.

len your house looks amazing all decorated! But what a shame about the breakages.

I love the look of those jumpers cherries- the red one especially is a beautiful colour, and a good price. Even m and s cashmere is about £70, and that's really gone downhill recently imo, so even better value if it's lovely quality as you say!

You sound very organised too Gin. We have a room like that... allegedly our guest room which we've been meaning to sort since we moved in 8 years ago Shock so you're doing better than me!! (Even changing the bed a la soy is a bit beyond me most of the time!).

Looking forward to seeing the parcels for soy and happy. Hope they live up to expectations ( I agree about the zebra star jumper. It looks great, but is still expensive...I got a similarish one from mint velvet that is grey with a leopard star, though it's a paler grey, and a more boxy shape enabled by huffthepuff Was about half the price though with various discounts). Glad you like yours Talisin...I do love the fluffiness! And also utah- even though the t shirt wasn't right, I've just had a look at the dress online and it's lovely if its this one???

Kudos to Gregg's - spotting a marketing opportunity and running with it! I thought it was something to do with phones reversing images/ reflections etc. But Ella's right..the other signs are the "wrong" way round!!!

UtahGirl12 · 08/12/2018 21:10

Thanks Not. It really is out of my comfort zone; inspired by the Marina snakeskin skirt I had this week. That was out of my comfort zone too, but i loved it so much I bought it in black on Ebay for half the price too. I've decided to be a bit more adventurous now. I'm only 5 foot and a fart though so it's much longer on me!

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 21:18

@Talisin what are you wearing the black cardi with? I'm eyeing the black & blush version. What's the sizing like?

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 21:24

I do like the look of that one @Ellapaella. Is it a bit "rock chick"? Or can a normal girl wear it??

neveradullmoment99 · 08/12/2018 21:25

Crikey!!! We do chat a lot. We are at 962 posts already. We are nearly needing a new thread!!

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 21:30

Ooooo I like that MV one @NotAnActualSheep

I like this one too ...

Hush Christmas - its a slipper-y slope and a ding dong meryl-y on high :)!
NotAnActualSheep · 08/12/2018 21:40

Ooh yes, that's lovely happy - really nice combo of colours. It looks like a similar fabric to the leopard star one, which is really soft as its got a hint of cashmere in. And I've just washed mine ( in the handwash machine setting rather than actual handwashing Blush) and it has come out perfectly as far as I can see...

Talisin · 08/12/2018 22:06

@happytobemrsg I don’t really know yet. I tried it on with the Mallory jumpsuit this evening and that worked well but it’s too cold to wear that at the moment. I have a sequin mini I think it will work with but I need to have a think about what top under that. Hopefully several dresses that are more streamline on the top (it wouldn’t work with something like the tara or Ivy dresses for instance), Will have a play around with it tomorrow.

Sizing is on the larger size of accurate. I’m a 12, got a 12 and it fits but I also have boobs and was concerned that it would do the thing of hanging either side of them rather than over but it doesn’t. It helps that it’s weighty so hangs well.

Just checking in...have tried to speed read over 15 pages of this thread! My computer broke last week and I could only read MN on my phone which I find almost impossible. All up and running again.

Also have had an awful cold for the past two weeks now and I am fed up with it. Got most of my Christmas shopping done over Black Friday weekend (yay) so now I can look forward to the festivities. Started off with a girly lunch in town today with my best friend (I suggested we do that from now on instead of giving each other presents). There was gin. ;)

Hugs and flowers to all of you who have been going through a rough time lately.

Just a note on the Felix dress. I now own 3 of them (side note: when did the price of them shoot up? I recall initially they were priced around £79?) and I have them a good while now - in burgundy, navy and forest green. Anyway, I wash them in the washing machine and have not had an issue yet. I put them on a cold wash and then hang them over a clothes horse. I don't wash them terribly often but I find they don't need it either.

happytobemrsg · 08/12/2018 22:15

If tomorrow's bits & pieces go well I'll order that MV jumper plus the Ada bag from JL. Good to know it washes well Sheep, though I don't think I've hand washed a thing in my life....

@Talisin it sounds quite versatile. Im going to figure out if the blush cardi can be worn during the day somehow. I have a freezing cold office & I get away with fluffy jumpers so maybe I could make this work too.

So glad you said that. There has been no shrinkage then? That is very good to hear. I may bung my grey one in after a few more wears.

Ellapaella · 09/12/2018 08:36

If any of you are interested there's 30% off all All Saints biker jackets today. Some really good deals to be had.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/12/2018 10:02

Great bargains @ella. I bought the bales a year ago but never got on with it. Ended up selling it. It was beautiful leather but it wasn't me. That's why i got the Next one which i love. Softer and comfy and not so stiff.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/12/2018 10:04

Feeling a bit rubbish today. Sore throat and pretty tired but a mountain of housework to do😱😱😱😱😱
