I’m 61 in 6 weeks. It’s terrifying how fast time goes really. I think especially when you have kids late, you are so focussed on them it happens without you noticing. I don’t have the jumper with me, so I have till Monday, but I’m inching towards keeping it.

DH has just sent me a photo of an empty Hush box that arrived today though. He opened it as there was no tape on it at all, just the tabs tucked it. All that was in it was a brochure and an empty black bag. I’m waiting for both the Bloomsbury dress and the face tee so I’m guessing it was one of these.

ilovecherries · 29/11/2018 20:08

Presumably Hush will be able to tell by the weight on the postage whether it left them empty or has fallen out/been removed en route.

ilovecherries · 29/11/2018 20:12

The leather trousers were in the 20% off promo last Xmas, that’s when I tried them. If I can get into a 10 I may have them.

Huffthepuff · 29/11/2018 20:12

Some great pics of you all. Have enjoyed catching up with the thread this eve after a busy day.
In a surprisingly sensible moment I decided to pack up and return anything I've bought but not yet worn. So back went the Hush coated jeans, MV faux leather leggings, a cardigan from M&S and Pure Collection poncho. Some things are great in principle but just not practical with a baby. The MV leggings I liked a lot but kept finding excuses not to wear as a little out of my comfort zone and I have a bad habit of when I'm feeling out of shape (over my usual weight) I buy clothes thinking it's that I need more stuff to wear rather than fix the issue (get off the sofa and stop eating biscuits).
The Other Stories coat even with 20% off for BF was £124 so good to save a bit of money with returns. I'll post a pic when I've got time to dress appropriately. It's more formal than I was expecting so would look odd styled with holey leggings and slippers which is my current attire...

Loving the Meryl alternative styling ideas 😂 perfect for this yuck weather

neveradullmoment99 · 29/11/2018 20:46

I wonder if they will have a promo of 20% off this year? Or are we runninng out of time now?
@cherries, that is shocking about the parcel. What is going on? Do your remember me saying about my necklace? It was missing from my parcel, the first time ever that i have not had something included. I emailed them and they sent me it through.

Laska2Meryls · 29/11/2018 20:46

Huff probably a good idea, I have quite often looked at a purchase o for a week and then thought naw... .. dont think I have regretted it so far esp as i have picked things up in the sale again sometimes much cheaper .. which Other Stories coat did you get? was it 20% over weekend?I missed all that ,mind was on other stuff.. but I did get 15% new customer.. and signed up again to reorder with another email so replacements will also be 15% off.

cherries oh no! the empty Hush box delivery doesn't sound good.. I'm 61 the week after next .. (relieved that DM's funeral isn't on my birthday , 2 days before ) .

Good idea to wear a brooch on the coat, Mum had quite a few she wore , Ill ask Dad if I can wear one of hers .

ilovecherries · 29/11/2018 20:48

It started either Xmas eve into Xmas day or Xmas day into Boxing Day last year - it was a pre-sale friends thing. I remember I stayed up for it as I wanted those leggings! And I still don’t have my friends postage back Angry

NotAnActualSheep · 29/11/2018 20:50

Oh len - yes, you need to keep that sequin jacket! That is ideal hoovering clobber! It will look amazing with a simple black outfit like your wide leg trousers as you say.

I think laska has the right idea about the rock and roll jumper soy. As it's sold out you'd really regret sending it back... But if your lovely DH is offering it as a Christmas present, it would be rude to refuse! Though as you're making life easy for him, he also needs to get you something else too Grin. Genius.

Am v intrigued by dementor Meryl. ( or dementia Meryl as my phone wants me to say...). I'm going to experiment. better than DH saying that I looked like something out of Dr Who when pulling it on

Good plan with the shopping and parent visiting cherries. But take it easy...you have been having a difficult time too recently so don't do too much and tire yourself Flowers. The ticket inspector was right, though... Grin. Yay for keeping the jumper, but grr about the empty box. That's awful if it has gone missing en route. Hopefully hush can figure out what has gone wrong.

huff That does sound sensible even though it's painful sending back stuff you love. If you're not going to wear them, it is a waste though. I'm totally guilty of the comfort shopping thing too and the eating biscuits. I've been putting on weight slowly over the past few years, and though I'm now (even more) slowly losing it, my shape has changed, so even clothes I physically fit into don't really suit me any more. But I do have more than enough lovely stuff that now does suit me I think, and I just need to start wearing it rather than buying more...

Huffthepuff · 29/11/2018 20:58

I think wearing one of your DM's brooches is a really lovely idea Laska ❤️

neveradullmoment99 · 29/11/2018 21:09

That is a beautiful coat @huff. I absolutely love it in the red. What colour did you order it in?

neveradullmoment99 · 29/11/2018 21:09

I also think that is a lovely idea @Laska

NotAnActualSheep · 29/11/2018 21:10

That's a gorgeous coat huff. And definitely one you'll get loads of use from. It's a really nice and unusual shape.

It's a lovely idea to wear one of your DMs brooches laska. What a good way of remembering her. Hope you have been holding up OK without your DH this week. Flowers again...

dontcallmelen · 29/11/2018 21:10

laska yy the broach idea, my dd did that with her wedding bouquet she had a few of my mums broaches mixed in with the flowers was a lovely way of remembering my mum, we must have birthdays very close mine is a couple of days before Christmas.

dontcallmelen · 29/11/2018 21:13

Huff that coat is a beauty, yy about buying stuff for all manner of reasons, I kept the MV leggings tbh not sure they will ever see the light of day.
Cherries that’s awful hope you resolve it quickly, yy what the bus chap said.

dontcallmelen · 29/11/2018 21:17

A pic of the black dress, forgot I had it can’t remember the last time I wore it though, the trousers are in the dry cleaners so will have to wait a day or so till I try with jacket, I think it’s a bit big will see what dd says tomorrow.

Hush Christmas - its a slipper-y slope and a ding dong meryl-y on high :)!

Huffthepuff · 29/11/2018 21:24

Len you look amazing! Perfect dress length and the jacket looks fab

I got the OS coat in black. It is quite rigid around the collar but I think/hope it'll soften? I'll take a pic tomorrow so you can see. It's not quite as I was expecting but the quality is amazing. It will be my work winter coat so needs to be warm and go with everything so has to be black really.

Not even sure if I've even done my returns within the time limit but I expect they'll still honour it. I felt good after doing it rather than sad or regretful so I'm taking that to be a good sign 🙂

neveradullmoment99 · 29/11/2018 21:24

You look utterly fabulous @melen. What a superb figure you have and your outfit totally does it justice - a winner!

Laska2Meryls · 29/11/2018 21:31

Wow you look fab Len figure envy must stop eating/drinking..

Laska2Meryls · 29/11/2018 21:51

Also Len that is the perfect vacuuming outfit !! Grin

dontcallmelen · 29/11/2018 21:58

laska thought I could sing the shake n vac song as well😂
Thank you everyone for your very kind comments you have mad me blush, everyone of you always look pretty darn fabulous in your pics.🥂

Laska2Meryls · 29/11/2018 21:59

Huff really looking forward to seeing your OS coat, Mine was such great quality and I loved it apart from their weird sizing options which meant I ordered it in sz massive . Am really hoping one of the others I have ordered is the perfect fit.

Huffthepuff · 29/11/2018 22:12

Did you order the 38 and the 40 Laska?

Huffthepuff · 29/11/2018 22:15

I think good to have a couple of sizes to compare as the 42 did look very oversized on you. Such gorgeous fabric. It will be giving you a big hug on a difficult day

Laska2Meryls · 29/11/2018 22:30

Yes ordered both Huff.. I went for the 42 because H&M sizing is so small and I thought OS would be the same.. But the 42 was so huge I really couldn't get an idea of what might actually fit me.. If I was buying a coat in M&S or JL I would usually start with a 14 on top , but I do have quite wide shoulders and norkage.. But its so hard to tell with sizing for different brands ... sometimes I've been a 16 and often a Hush XS!! DH has bought me a North Face Thermoball hiking jacket for my birthday and I had to have the XL!!
