nearly Hmm it does make you wonder...

Final sale parcel has arrived!
Skinny Bailey jeans in black really really like so much I’m keeping, very comfy but will need a belt to stop it sliding down but don’t mind that as I like to wear my Baukjen studded belt with jeans anyway.
Sparkly v neck top which is Too HUGE (not in a good way) everywhere despite ordering in S which is a size smaller than my usual M...going back it does me no favours but can confirm it’s nicely sparkly and non itchy fabric.
RocknRoll jumper a little itchy with the high neck but can live with that, M is TTS as you can see, just not sure it suits me as much as I’d hoped...yeay or nay? (Please be honest!) super super warm knit btw.

@SoyYo I think the style suits you and is really flattering. Can you get it on under a coat? That's the only thing I'm finding with my Meryl dupe is that's it's a little too bulky to go under jackets which limits when I can wear it. Could you get the puffa on over this? If yes then I'd say keep 😃

Huffthepuff · 27/11/2018 12:11

So the coated jeans arrived. Size 12. It was a struggle to get them on but once they were buttoned up they feel ok (tight like Spanx)
They give me a muffin top but then most (all) things do since I had ds
Honest opinions please. I'd be tempted to try the coated topshop Jamie jeans as an alternative if we think it's a no. £79 is a lot for coated jeans

Have to say that I love it all @Soy - sorry!! Both looks are great!! I think that the glittery top looks fab - really nice with the jeans (deffo keepers) ... and the RnR jumper is gorgeous too. So snuggly and you can't go wrong with black.
ps love your boots too!

SoyYo · 27/11/2018 12:32

Thanks waterlily Smile

Huff yes it definitely fits under the new velvet puffa, which is very generous in the 12 I bought. I think I’m keeping but feel I’ve spent so much £ lately : Jeans+ Paloma + 1 LL T (im returning one) + velvet puffa + tiger scarf + rocknroll bag AND jumper (yes already own the t shirt too Blush) it’s all adding up to an outrageous amount actually...

On the coated jeans I think they look great on you (sorry!) what I would do if you can afford it is order the other one and then decide which to return? Because if you return the Hush and then change your mind you’re unlikely to be able to reorder due to OOS on most sizes. Honestly on the pic they look like good quality leather jeans rather than just coated.

Ellapaella · 27/11/2018 12:42

@Huffthepuff I think the jeans look great. I like how they are not skin tight, that is the look I would go for. I've been contemplating them but was put off by reviews regarding tightness and being very small for size.
If you want a cheaper option however, both TopShop and River Island have very good quality nice fitting ones in at the moment that have a high waist which sorts out the muffin top issue. The River Island ones are particularly nice (I tried them on and will probably go back for them once Christmas spending is finished) - they are called Molly coated jeans and are £45 I think.

Ellapaella · 27/11/2018 12:43

@SoyYo I really like both jumpers on you. The jeans look great, also not super skinny which is what I prefer.

Ellapaella · 27/11/2018 12:44

@Huffthepuff what size trousers do you normally take? Did you size up for the Hush ones?

Ellapaella · 27/11/2018 12:47

Just read the email regarding the new Hush Christmas jumpers. £200+ for a jumper they can jog right on!!

GinandGingerBeer · 27/11/2018 12:47

@SoyYo love the rock n roll and the jeans, they look fab-u-lous!!! Are the jeans quite soft?
I've worn my Sainsbury's ones to death (I think it was @never who recommended them about 3 or 4 threads ago and they are far nicer than my MV ones I bought last year, stretchy and super comfy)

Glittery top looks ace too, personally, I didn't get on with the material but it does look nice.

@Huffthepuff the coated jeans look good! I wish I'd kept the size 12's now but then maybe I'm forgetting how black puddingy I looked!

Just been to collect my charcoal jersey top, raglan In burgundy, and the zebra joggers. Can't try on yet as I'm too bloody cold to get undressed.

Today I am wearing:
Dark blue biker jeans MV (but these are super comfy)
Hush green wide jersey top with White longline vest top under
Black buckle boots (dune)
Currently sat in uniqlo fleecy bear coat in dark green

SoyYo · 27/11/2018 12:49

Thanks @Ella the sparkly one is going back I’ve decided but I’m inclined to keep the black RnRoll as I don’t really own any super warm jumpers (and definitely no roll necks either) I just hope it doesn’t emphasise my inverted triangle/top heavy frame too much.
I took a punt on the skinny jeans purely because they were reduced and super pleased with them so recommend they’re deffo worth trying if they’re in the Jan sale. Really good deep black and not skin tight, just right. I bought in 12 and the waist is a wee bit generous even on my middle age spread so if you try go for your usual 10, if you have very small waist may be worth even sizing down.

SoyYo · 27/11/2018 12:51

Thank you gin yes lovely soft and stretchy denim.
Hope once you are up to trying your new purchases they are a big 👍👍

Huffthepuff · 27/11/2018 12:52

@Ellapaella thanks. They are really tight on the waist and hips but not obscene. I'm a size 10 but since having ds I've gone up to a 12 sometimes on the bottom half. I'd definitely say anyone trying them should size up. A higher rise would be preferable so I'll have a look at the river island ones, thanks! I think for the price I'd need them to be perfect and they would be if I lost maybe half a stone (typed whilst eating my 5th chocolate biscuit)

SoyYo · 27/11/2018 13:03

Btw I’m very grateful to you all for the lovely comments and fast feedback. You’re a lovely bunch of enablers! 🤗

I’m disappearing till later tonight as I’ve got lots of work to get on with but before I do just wanted to say laska we’re all thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way ⚡️⚡️✨

WaterLilyThursday · 27/11/2018 13:05

@huff I really like the coated jeans. They have a really nice sheen to them - they look expensive and are a great shape on you. I second Ella's advice of trying the less expensive ones to see how they compare if you're not 100% sure. I really like that they have a sheen but are not SHINY and cheap looking. I have them on my Hush wish list. I don't know what size I'd be in them - I'm normally an 8 but with Hush sizing sometimes need a 6 even though there's no way that's my actual size. So, when people say to size up, I don't know if I should go up to a 10 or if the 8 would be ok.

ilovecherries · 27/11/2018 13:20

The black jumper looks great, Soy, def a keeper. Huff, you look great in those jeans.

Huffthepuff · 27/11/2018 14:05

Thanks for the feedback all. I feel ready to enter the world of coated jeans again after this experience although these ones are going back. Just a bit too tight and more than I can afford to pay right now given that I have the Other Stories wool coat arriving later...
@WaterLilyThursday I would ignore Hush normal over sizing and just size up from your regular jeans size. It really depends where you hold your weight too. Mine is all in my bum and thighs so I knew this would be a risk. I'd compare them maybe to Topshop jeans sizing rather than Next. They are gorgeous so definitely don't let me put you off!

Missbobbins · 27/11/2018 14:33

To Meryl or not to Meryl... that is the question...

I am not a fan of polo necks as they make me feel claustrophobic- but the Meryl neck looks nice and loose... does it restrict in any way? Xx

dontcallmelen · 27/11/2018 14:42

Huff I really the jeans, but probably a good idea to compare with Topshop/River island high waist ones, must admit I really like TS & RI jeans the sizing is TTS i find as well.
Soy the pics are great, really really like the jeans on you jumper looks good & very cosy I also really like the glittery top, but if you are not loving it then probably best to send back.

dontcallmelen · 27/11/2018 14:44

miss I feel the same, get a bit panicked if I feel stuff around my neck they have a grey in my size , but not sure I love the grey enough to order would have been more tempted if the pink in stock.

NotAnActualSheep · 27/11/2018 14:45

Just catching up with all the chat... but just to say I got the xs Meryl soups and I'm a 12/14 - so you'll be fine!!! ( I found the s really too big, even though it's supposed to be oversized). Gutted I missed out on the pink earlier! Work has a lot to answer for...

dontcallmelen · 27/11/2018 14:51

Thanks Not for the sizing info, I think it might swamp me a bit so will give it a miss & help my bank balance, Dh kindly paid off my credit cards a few weeks ago, so I really really need to get a grip & stop buying stuff I really can’t afford, bloomin work Not has a lot to answer for getting in the way of Meryl buying😄

NotAnActualSheep · 27/11/2018 14:54

Sorry for the picture quality... but the pink is an s, which I sent back, and the grey an Xs which I kept! ( probably needs a wash to be honest.) I confuse myself, sometimes...

@notanactualsheep Hush had stock in the pink in XS last time I looked!

pangolina · 27/11/2018 15:01

Can I join? I've been lurking on the last few threads and am currently kicking myself for not ordering the blue stella jumper yesterday in the sale, it's back up to full price now!
@ellapaella and @huffthepuff I can vouch for the Molly coated skinnies from River Island. They wash well, have a good bit of stretch without losing shape or sagging/bagging around the bum and knees and have a good high waist.
I tried on the hush coated skinnies but decided that for the price they weren't significantly better than my Molly's so didn't buy them.
