Is there any chance I will be able to get hold of a pink Meryl? Returns possibly?

ilovecherries · 27/11/2018 08:49

soups, no I don’t believe they all have Hush, although the numbers that do seem to be increasing all the time.

NotAnActualSheep · 27/11/2018 09:00

It's possible soups. They did have a few appearing a week or so ago, but haven't seen any recently. If you can get to a JL though, they may have some in store, though not online. ( don't know if all branches have it in store I'm afraid...the ones I've been to recently do, but that is a pretty small sample size of 3). The store near me had quite a few (larger sizes only though) a couple of weeks ago when it was shown as OOS online.

If one does crop up on the website though, I'll fight you for it GrinShock. kind of regretting sending back the one I had a few weeks ago in the midst of Meryl-gate, even though it was too big, really. I love love love the grey one though.

List of the JL concessions here.

Morning all - loved the rock'n'roll picture you posted last night @Soy!! Speaking of HoC and colours that suit and all that (and Cherries' beautiful chestnut jumper yesterday) - I agree that everyone should wear the colours that they feel the best in!! We probably gravitate a bit towards what suits us and anyway, if you're happy in what you wear, that's the main thing. I think that there's no way that all of us can be divided up and put into four "colour boxes" (or 12 or 16 for that matter) cos there are so many subtleties to what looks good on you - fleck of colour in eyes, the thousands of different skin tones etc... having said all that though, I found this website that helped me understand a bit why I love certain colours (and why I think they look nice on me) ... she doesn't just talk about skin tone but also about how much colour contrast you have in your features and how "deep" the colour of your various features are as well ... there are 12 different colour groups so again, there won't be a "box" for everyone but I think it makes you more aware of your colouring ... anyway!!! Sorry for the long post - I just thought of the website when I read Soy's message and I thought it might be useful so here it is: CardiganEmpire .. apologies if it's a site you've already discussed before!! Have a lovely day everyone ... for the first time in a few days I'm actually not wearing any Hush Shock Hmm

Thank you sheep

SoyYo · 27/11/2018 09:45

soups I thought Mariella looked stunning and the only thing is she has access to the fab Harley St gynaecologist (expensive!) which made me a bit jealous. I’ve said before but I had a sudden and early menopause at only 40 years old, periods just stopped for no apparent reason. Apart from a blood test telling me “yes you’re perimenopausal” (WTF my periods have completely stopped!) and GP handing me a pathetic NHS leaflet on HRT (no let’s refer you to a gynaecologist for further tests as you’re still very young or let’s discuss the HRT options you could consider) that was it. I felt so very lonely as gf’s were still producing babies and my two boys were still quite young so I just got on and took nothing. 15 years later the night sweats have nearly stopped and luckily for me I never suffered from daytime hot flushes but still very Angry at the way I was dismissed.
I must go and get a bone scan!

waterlily I didn’t know that website thanks for linking I will look at it, and as you say we all tend to gravitate towards colours that suit us anyway.

RocknRoll jumper should arrive today I totally love the look but I’m not sure a high roll neck will love me, will report back and in the meantime have a great day.

not you sound very stylish today with your insect top, Hope you have a good one as it sounds you’re in work meetings

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 09:58

I must go and get a bone scan

And start running! Smile

ilovecherries · 27/11/2018 10:06

I’m watching Mariella just now. That gynae is listing every symptom I have (and am mostly still having). I was unfortunate in that I hit pre menopause just at the time the breast cancer and hrt study hit the headlines. GPs were just refusing to prescribe. It was all about ‘don’t dice with death to avoid a hot flush’. I never had bleeding problems, periods just faded away, but the anxiety and insomnia are awful, and the vaginal dryness is crap. And at 60 I STILL have hot flushes - and I notice my mum still has them at 85.

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 10:07

sheep what size Meryl did you have that you sent back?

ilovecherries · 27/11/2018 10:07

Mariella is so lovely.

WaterLilyThursday · 27/11/2018 10:12

There are Meryls available on the Hush website! In pink and in grey ... good luck to anyone trying to get one!!

WaterLilyThursday · 27/11/2018 10:14

@dontcallmelen and @twosoups1972 - I think you mentioned wanting Meryls - should have tagged you above - there are some in pink and in grey available on Hush website (hope this mentioning you will notify you - still not really sure how this all works!)

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 10:15

Thank you water Smile

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 10:16

@notanactualsheep grey Meryls available now on Hush's website! Smile

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 10:18

I wanted a pink in a S which they don't have. I've ordered an XS bearing in mind that it's oversized. If anyone has a Meryl, how does the sizing come up please?

@WaterLilyThursday thank you so much for the heads up!

WaterLilyThursday · 27/11/2018 10:22

You're very welcome @twosoups1972! They do come up very very big - I got XS (my usual Hush size) and it's enormous but I just love love love it! I hope the XS will work for you. Annoying that they didn't come back into stock while they had the -25%?!!

By the way, I also tried the Twiggy jumper - I fell in love with the photo of it when I saw it ... but I was so disappointed by it IRL. It didn't look like it does in the photos - the neck was much more close-fitting and the sort of slash neck was one of the things that I loved about it. I don't think that tight-fitting necks suit me at all. The colours were also a bit different. So, back it went. The Meryl on the other hand ... I couldn't bear to send it back once I had tried it on! Didn't want to take it off Smile

dontcallmelen · 27/11/2018 10:23

Water thanks wil have a look.
Laska hope you are ok.

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 10:24

Yes annoying about the discount water I kept seeing Meryls on JL's website (sold out though) at £84!

Have you washed yours yet?

WaterLilyThursday · 27/11/2018 10:37

@soups - I haven't even worn mine yet Sad ... It's going to be a Christmas present from my brother+sister Grin I cannot wait ... - my sister has it to keep it safe until Christmas!! I'll probably hand wash it the first few times though.

SoyYo · 27/11/2018 10:44

cherries yes on the HRT scare 15 years ago, I’m sure that’s why my GP was so dismissive about the topic and I remember he wasn’t very enthusiastic about it (hence giving me the NHS leaflet full of warning about the breast cancer risks).
Btw this morning on R4 Woman’s hour the programme was discussed again particularly with regards to the Oxford breakthrough on ovarian implants. I’m sure future generations of women will have much better options than we did.

soups running or drinking less 🥂shame Pilates wasn’t mentioned as it’s my fave exercise option.

Meryls in stock! Go go go! Grin

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 10:47

@SoyYo I do pilates too! My friend qualified as an instructor a few years ago so I go to her classes, she's great.

I think I read somewhere that HRT actually protects against some cancers, eg ovarian, is that true?

SoyYo · 27/11/2018 10:51

Yes soup Only exercise that I’ve been able to stick to for years, I’m so amazed at the difference it’s made that I even do 20 mins a day all by myself and of course go to weekly classes where I’m challenged to improve.

HRT I think has been badly underrated as it provides protection against so many serious med conditions aside osteoporosis...
