Hello lovely Hushistas, I've been lurking for a while rather than posting but I have some actual useful information to share Grin.

I bought the forest green Paloma jumper back in August from JL, and have worn it a lot and washed it a few times. It hasn't bobbled at all so far, although it does look slightly more 'fuzzy' and a bit less smooth than it did before washing. Still lovely though. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it tends to sort of pull backwards a bit throughout the day so it ends up being a bit short at the front. This is only a problem because I'm 5'10, I'm sure it would be fine on a normal height person!

I did order a few things in the sale this weekend - the devore leopard t-shirt, the Sabrina cardi in Olive, and the Navy/leopard star jumper. I am getting them delivered to my UK address so I won't get to try them on for a couple of weeks until I'm back for Christmas.

Flowers for you Laska, hope you're doing OK today.

Cherries that chestnut colour really is beautiful on you, how annoying about the nibbled hems! Your talk of wilder wigs reminded me of the blogger ReeRee who has some FANTASTIC wigs: www.rockalily.com/search?q=wigs&f_collectionId=5559e03ee4b098dbbf0daf69

This really is the loveliest corner of the internet.

Welcome noodle looking forward to hearing about your haul Smile

I’ve clearly been on here too long because I now want a Meryl jumper when they’re all sold out! John Lewis has a S in but I was too late. I’ve got 2 jumpers coming from jigsaw soon but I really want a pink Meryl!

dontcallmelen · 26/11/2018 21:24

Not shame about the hair, it looked fine in your pics, but it is very hard to get right yourself I think, so probably worth paying out for in the long run, mine lasted ages as the hairdresser did them quite a bright vibrant pink & they faded gradually to a pale pink.
I too have Meryl envy, but need to finish Christmas shopping, before I spend anymore on myself.

dontcallmelen · 26/11/2018 21:25

Welcome noodle sounds like a good haul.

Huffthepuff · 26/11/2018 21:31

@ilovecherries going against the grain here but I love those trousers on you. I think the whole look is flattering and modern and fresh. Effortlessly styled if you know what I mean

Huffthepuff · 26/11/2018 21:34

@SoyYo your haul makes me so happy. We don't know you IRL but I love that we all know how well those choices suit you. Fab stuff 😊 it all looks great

SoyYo · 26/11/2018 22:24

That’s so true and love that you said that Huff thank you! Yes as we stick around we get to know each other’s style and what works best.
Just checking in before bedtime and if you missed the BBC1 programme on the menopause with Mariela Frostrupp (can’t spell her name but think she’s great) well worth downloading and watching if only for validation and much head nodding (remembering our chat on the last thread).

noodles really love the look of the Devore leopard blue things, Hope the vest is as fab as it looks online.

Thank you also for confirming the Paloma is not specially prone to bobbling! If the green was available that would be my last sneaky sale order before midnight, just as well there’s none left! Blush

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 22:26

I have the multifaces tee. I was wearing it on Saturday. I love it but it is short. I wore a long line white tee under it. I wish hush would add a few inches to their tops. They are always soooo short.
A very warm welcome to the newbies on this thread Smile

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 22:29

The green Paloma is lovely. In previous years, I bought the adele jumper which was the same shape as the Paloma In black. I still have it in black but sadly had an accident with my deep burgundy one [ spilt chicken fat on it and couldn't get it out - I was gutted. It was a beautiful colour and cost me £££] Eventually it shrunk in the wash after trying to get the stain out. Came out the size of a child's jumper. So annoying. It had totally felted too...Sad

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 22:30

The green Paloma has bee OOS forever too. I doubt it will come back in now.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 22:31

@cherries, really looking forward to see you in your wig. It sounds lovely.

SoyYo · 26/11/2018 22:37

Oh no never you must have been 🤬 when you shrunk your jumper! Just had a look at JL for the green and they only have the L in stock so yes I reckon I missed that boat but super happy with the blue one in any case...anyway I have to save for your leather leggings next! Grin

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 22:41

You do :) I think you will look amazing in them. They will go with your rock n roll jumper! I love my leggings but haven't worn them yet. I just keep smelling the leather and stroking them! I need to have an occasion to wear them because if I wear them daily [which I have no problem doing] They will need cleaned quicker but I do hate leaving things for best but I just cant bring myself to wear them casually as I am scared I damage them.
I was so pissed off about the jumper. I cried inside when I dumped it in the bin. It cost me around £70 and was practically new when I did it. Maybe 2 wears :(

SoyYo · 26/11/2018 22:48

Btw hope the cashmer jumper colour suits you as beautifully as it did cherries, I’m interested in knowing if my idea on that beautiful rust suiting our olive skin is complete nonsense or not Hmm if it is and knowing how beautifully it suits cherries colouring too then we can all call House of Colours “seasons” complete BS and just wear whatever colour we want (I do anyway 🤣 the only colour I honestly can’t wear well are pale camel shades).

Oh by the way before I bid you goodnight I leave you with a pic from legendary Lenny 🤟 you will all rock DM’s, pink hair and leather jackets for decades to come Wink

Hush Christmas - its a slipper-y slope and a ding dong meryl-y on high :)!
SoyYo · 26/11/2018 22:52

never this week you simply MUST go rock those leather leggings!
Yes on jumper disasters, I remember a couple of years ago giving DS2 a beautiful Boden cashmere hoody as a Xmas pressie and before I could launder it the boy went and put it in a hot wash with his jeans 😱 it came out like a tiny felted jumper fit for a soft toy 😬 that was £140 well spent then...Hmm

miffy2 · 26/11/2018 22:56

Similar thing happened to me with my first Adele jumper, never. It was charcoal and somehow ended up in a regular 40 degree wash. My fault entirely but I was so so upset. I later bought a burgundy version and later again replaced the charcoal in some sale or other and wash them both very very carefully (I find a quick cold wash in the machine is OK).

I am wearing my wide jersey top in black again today, this time with H&M skinny shaper jeans, my new successful jeans purchase.

I have not bought anything from Hush since mid-August which is pretty shocking for me. I just don't feel an urge to get anything and am trying not to order just for the sake of it; I am however making up for that elsewhere...having bought and returned about 90 sweaters form H&M, Zara and Topshop!

My gorgeous All Saints Conroy leather biker jacket (in Ink, a very very dark navy, bordering on black but not quite) arrived today and I love it. I was so let down last year when there was a bargain sale on one of their jackets (Bales?) and I bought one from JL, had it shipped to Ireland and just hated it. I have an Onyx from Hush in black which I love but it is a little baggy on me now, so the new one is perfect and different enough to justify. Tight on the upper arms but that is to be expected, for now!

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 22:57

My ds did this too. I had bought him a gorgeous wool jumper out of next. It didn't cost as much as yours but I loved it on him. He loved it too. He came through sheepishly showing me the jumper fit for a child!

How will you clean yours when you get them? Or will you air them? Its the only thing that's kind of putting me off from wearing them [daily if I could!!]

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 22:59

I will wear on Thursday. Going out for lunch with my mum so will put on then.

SoyYo · 26/11/2018 23:01

Really must go to bed but now a very RocknRoll Tina Turner clad in black leather is on TV 😍
Hola miffy! The AllSaints navy blue leather sounds heavenly please do post a pic if you’re feeling brave and as far as Hush are concerned there’s always the Jan sales to make up for lost time Grin

SoyYo · 26/11/2018 23:06

never leather just wipes clean so I wouldn’t worry so much, when I think of some of my leather jackets being out on long rides and the sticky bugs that just splatter (as they do) when you’re going high speed, quick wipe and good as new.
Maybe a clean with leather cream every now and then? Should be fine!
Shouldn’t need professional cleaning very often and if you’re worried about the nether regions (sorry to ahem be so explicit) just air and wear really pristine underwear before putting on?
Hope you enjoy it’s first outing on Thursday Wink

neveradullmoment99 · 26/11/2018 23:09

That's what I will do [ was kind of worried about down below!!] so thanks. Will just air and wipe clean :) Too good to wear to work so would only wear on days off.

GinandGingerBeer · 26/11/2018 23:18

Oh I forgot to take a picture of myself in the god awful outfit @NotAnActualSheep Grin
It's a kind of shirt dress but with a drawer string which goes right round the widest part of my arse. Looks hideous, I covered it up and slung a pale grey longline MV cardigan over it.

I kept it to wear as a night shirt but the material is too synthetic and I fear I'd spontaneously combust in my bed Grin

Imagine the headlines 'Peri Menopausal Woman aged 48 suffered Hot flush to end all Hot flushes'

NotAnActualSheep · 27/11/2018 06:08

Lol @Gin Grin. I know what you mean about keeping stuff that really doesn't work for any occasion... ( though maybe a new energy source? Forget nuclear fission...harness the power of a couple of dozen hot flushes!).

I'm with you all on the jumper shrinkage. I messed up with a lovely red merino for DH, and when he put it on it was like a crop top! Never been able to find another quite the same shade of red Sad.

I'm very hushy today. The red Atlas wrap shirt with insects ( and thermal top underneath...classy), and Dylan (?) trousers. And an obscenely early journey... Not sure the pink hair is shifting, but it has faded, so I think it looks about acceptable now. I'll reassess later in the week.

Definitely go for the leather leggings this week , never (you know we'll harangue you until you do, so best get it over with Grin).

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 07:41

Do all John Lewis branches stock Hush?

twosoups1972 · 27/11/2018 08:32

@SoyYo I saw the menopause programme with Mariella, was very interesting. I only realised recently that anxiety is a menopausal symptom, have definitely been suffering from that in the last year or two. GP put me on mild medication which helped and things are a bit better now.

LOVED Mariella's red dress in the programme, anyone have any idea where it's from? Smile
