Has Pippa's son been Christened yet? Might there be some nice outfits there?

PawneeParksDept · 27/11/2018 19:27

The Prince Of Wales is the historic title of the monarchs heir if that heir is male. Edward VIII became the Prince Of Wales on his 16th birthday 9 days after his father took the throne. I think that's easily forgotten in all the subsequent palaver. As said on another thread had George and Charlotte swapped birth order, Charlotte would have been first female to hold the title in her own right as opposed to as the spouse

I have no doubt that it will pass to William in due course

PawneeParksDept · 27/11/2018 19:32

What happens to the Cambridge title?

I assume it goes back in the box with Clarence and Buckingham Grin

George won't hold it til of age and he might in fact just become Prince Of Wales

I mean there's a strong chance Charles won't be around when George is 21 and no chance the Queen will

Louis might get it on marriage, but might not

PawneeParksDept · 27/11/2018 19:39

In fact, we are going back a bit now, but I'm SURE the Queen only made William a Duke so that Catherine would not have to be referred to as

HRH Princess William

A la Princess Michael of Kent

The same is true of Duchess Of Sussex vs Princess Henry

More dignity. They never liked Princess Michael

None of this applied to Diana as Charles was already Prince Of Wales

She was NEVER Princess Diana though that is how she is remembered

She was HRH The Princess Of Wales

and post divorce

Diana, Princess Of Wales.

Butterymuffin · 27/11/2018 19:41

Would be nice if Louis got it. Assuming Charlotte becomes Princess Royal - or she could take Duchess of Cambridge in her own right.

Have we discussed what titles Harry and Meghan's child might get? Prince/princess and Lord/Lady has, I know, but what clout dukedoms and the like?

The 'English Rose' reference is low. Press should be ashamed of that kind of sly racism.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 19:44

Duke of York will most likely be available again by the time Louis marries. When did royal dukedoms start getting conferred upon marriage only? Looking back at the sons of George III and Queen Victoria it seems they were just conferred at random.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 19:48

@Butterymuffin Unfortunately girls still can't inherit dukedoms except in special circumstances. There are a few duchesses in their own right but I think they're mainly in Scotland.

According to the media, H&M ain't be seeking princely titles for their children. Much like Edward and Sophie, although Louise and James may get upgraded if Edward inherits the DoE title.

I want to apologise for asking for skin care help. I read the first few posts then posted mine and have only just now read previous posts where it's been requested that no more skin care chat happens.

Becles · 27/11/2018 19:55

The interesting thing about the proposed trans gender legislation is that it explicitly women who have changed gender inheriting a title. Hmm

PawneeParksDept · 27/11/2018 19:57

It's impossible to know what titles Harry's children will have as adults - it's 20 years off and rather morbidly, depends on who's dead

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 19:59

Don't worry about it @YearOfYouRemember!

OP posts:
Paradyning · 27/11/2018 20:02

What upgrade might Louise and James get if Edward gets DoE? I thought children of Dukes were Lords and Ladies.
Unless that is a different class if Duke altogether!

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 20:05

Upgrade to prince and princess

OP posts:
Twisique · 27/11/2018 20:10

Which is higher, a Duke or an Earl? Will James go from Viscount to Earl and Edward from Earl to Duke?

Minimammoth · 27/11/2018 20:11

They may become Earl, or Countess. Duke of Edinburgh was created for Philip I think. Charles will take over the Duchy of Lancaster, Duchy of Cornwall will go to William.

Paradyning · 27/11/2018 20:12

Lovely pic of Cams in a coat and dress combo!

Age appropriate! Which is why Kate shouldn't be wearing them!

Clionba · 27/11/2018 20:19

What a gorgeous picture! Love Camilla in this. It's a bit of a Meghan colour!
I doubt very much if James and Louise upgrade to Prince and Princess.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 20:20

@Paradyning I thought that was George and Charlotte with her for a moment!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 20:22

I think Louise and James are technically a prince or princess but it's just that their parents chose not to use the title.

OP posts:
PawneeParksDept · 27/11/2018 20:24

@QueenOfTheAndals is correct, they are Prince/Princess but not STYLED as such, I think to make adult life easier so I doubt it will change at all

SilentIsla · 27/11/2018 20:28

QueenOfTheAndals

@Pupsiecola Are you also botemp then??

Lol

SilentIsla · 27/11/2018 20:30

Some of those children might not ever marry. 🙄

miri1985 · 27/11/2018 20:33

Does anyone else think its weird that no one has put out a statement to say the feud rumours aren't true?

I wouldn't have expected them to pre-MM but remember when they were announced to be dating and the press were speculating that the Cambridges didn't like her a statement was put out to counter the narrative.

I thought at the time, they've shot themselves in the foot by doing this because it will increase speculation every time they don't comment in the future.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 27/11/2018 20:35

Can someone explain to me why titles are refused as in the case of James and Louise? If they are Lord and Lady why not Prince and Princess if they are entitled to use them, I’m a bit confused!

SilentIsla · 27/11/2018 20:40

I think Kate’s face says it all when she catches MM in pose mode i.e. all the time.
Kate is such an asset to the Royal Family. She is pretty perfect.
