style extending to 'lifestyle'? Lots of scope for that on these threads

That's how I felt about it too ...

Something I'd love to see is the floorplans for these buildings. I realise it may not be possible for places the RF have always owned (Balmoral, Sandringham, etc) but Bagshot for example was originally leased from the army and surely the plans must exist somewhere

Anyone know?

BlingLoving · 27/11/2018 12:06

I use them in the bath without a problem but will be cautious on face to start.

@spudlet - dry skin can get bad acne. I had this a few years ago when I changed jobs and the new air con clearly screwed with my skin. The person I consulted pointed out that if I have dry skin, that's feeling under pressure, it's response may be to over oil in certain areas, hence the break out. A massive moisturising programme sorted me out (and I switched moisturisers for daily life while working there. Was interested that I could go back to my regular moisterzer when I left that job about 2 years later).

Great photo of the nine kings!
King Alfonso is thinking "What am I doing here? How did I get here?"

OlennasWimple · 27/11/2018 12:19

Floor plans for army buildings and RF buildings will be closely guarded, for security reasons

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/11/2018 12:33

You're right of course, Oleanna

Shame, though Grin

DontCallMeCharlotte · 27/11/2018 12:36

Ditch the 'tache and King Manuel would be a babe.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/11/2018 12:46

Oh please can we stop hearing about people’s skincare routines?
Just start another thread ladies!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/11/2018 12:53

Gosh the Tsar of Bulgaria in @Queen’s link of the 9 monarchs looks the image of his grandson King Simeon of Bulgaria

His history is really interesting; he was a child king; the only person still living who was born a Tsar, then was elected Prime Minister of Bulgaria.

King Albert has a certain je ne sais quoi! Wink

FATEdestiny · 27/11/2018 12:56

You're making me eyeroll somewhat CurlyWurlyTwirly. As long as the frequent posters keep the royal S&B chat going, these small side conversations will naturally peter out without the need to be rude about it.

Regarding the Royal premises, Sophie and Edward do pay for the lease of Bagshot. I read it was £90,000 per year, so not an insignificant amount.

Whilst they do own an obscene amount of property, it makes me feel a teeny bit better about it that at least they do have to pay a proper rent on the lease.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/11/2018 13:02

Ok, @FATEdestiny.
I did ask politely on the previous page, but was ignored, so I was a bit more assertive, it was not my intention to be rude. I think as I contribute a lot to this thread, I think it’s fine for me to ask that it does not get sidetracked, unless Meghan or akate choose to post about their skincare routine.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 13:04

Simeon "Sakskoburggotski", brilliant name.

Not entirely off topic, but I would love to know how the royal ladies look after their skin. I mean, they never get spots! My skin can change day to day, I get hormonal chin spots that might cover ok but would still show up in photos.....I wonder if they have such lovely skin because they're lucky? Or because they eat such a good diet (because they don't have to plan if, shop for it, cook it, have the kids asking 'what's for tea?' eighty nine times a day.....) is it facials? Expensive products? I'd just be really interested to know.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/11/2018 13:05

Sorry great grandson

frugalkitty · 27/11/2018 13:05

Oh hang on......who let Haakon out of my airing cupboard??? Grin

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 27/11/2018 13:07

Agreed Curly.

Someone on a previous thread wanted to discuss Amal Clooney’s clothes and took it on the chin when it was pointed out on this was a pretty specific thread, and to branch out any further then a Celeb Style and Beauty thread should be started.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/11/2018 13:11

I actually don't think Kate has such great skin - if the smoking rumours are true then that could account for it, though the Middletons also seem fond of their tans.

Meghan is always glowing, though could be the pregnancy right now. She's probably got a complicated skincare routine from her acting days and has regular facials.

I'm always struck by what beautiful skin Diana had, in the days before photoshop.

Bottom line is that prevention is better than cure and a good sunscreen does wonders!

Sophie and Edward do pay for the lease of Bagshot. I read it was £90,000 per year

Hmmm, interesting - though I still wonder who picks up the running costs, which must be colossal on such a house. After all the dreadful publicity it was reported that the Queen had paid Sophie and Edward a quarter of a million to give up "commercial" work, but I doubt that would pay for many of the ongoing bills

Anyway, it looks as if we all missed an opportunity last year ...

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/11/2018 13:16

I think Pippa is more partial to a tan.
If she wanted to Kate could Botox her forehead lines, but it is a slippery slope. She is still very beautiful and is probably wisely choosing to age gracefully, otherwise in 15 years, we could have. Rania situation.

Curly I'm not entirely sure of the very complicated bloodlines, but many of those old photos look to be of pure Romanov appearance to me - which apparently since the 18th century has meant half Russian half Danish

In fact, when the Tsar's murdered family was found, wasn't there some talk of Philip having given DNA samples to help with the identification?

queenofarles · 27/11/2018 13:28

i don't understand the rent thing, why don't they just buy a property with all that money?

i remember reading about the duke and duchess of kent rent drama, they used to only pay for utilities and such ,the Queen kindly offered them a house ,or pay rent for their KP apartment, they turned the house down, and now they pay 10k a month rent, the duchess was moaning about the rent! well, you should have accepted the house or moved out of KP and used all that rent money towards a property of your own.

Ktay · 27/11/2018 13:44

Don’t worry @Puzzledandpissedoff, there’s always this!
