I am appalled at the tome the Mail is taking on the whole ‘brothers splitting up, wives don’t get on theme’. Just leave them alone DM. completely obnoxious.

Paradyning · 26/11/2018 09:02

Frogmore has 5 bedrooms, not 10 apparently. It's been misreported. (Shock)

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/11/2018 09:05

Bagshot is huge; 56 rooms. It’s about 11 miles from Windsor.
I don’t think the Queen lives at BP anymore. She’s moved to Windsor since Prince Phillip retired. All the Royal apartments are being refurbished.
I am curious as to where Princess Anne stays when she is in !ondon. I presume her husband has a place; although they don’t seem to be together much.

MM didn't have a 'Hollywood lifestyle' though. She was a TV actress on a show that was shot in Canada. Essentially, a very ordinary life with flashes of red carpet at certain times in the year.

Back to Frogmore - according to the Mail it has been staff residencies so can see why it will need to be refurbed. You'd think though that there would be somewhere on the estate that wasn't a staff residence?

The Mail article is irritating though: here are some facts that someone on record has said, for example, that MM and DoC haven't had a falling out, but let's follow that up with some speculation that they must have fallen out because women.

@Paradyning Madeleine just looked utterly resplendent when pregnant, didn't she? I remember seeing photos of her looking amazing at her brother's wedding and then she gave birth the next day!

I know! How was she even walking in heels at that point!

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/11/2018 09:24

Sofia is very pretty too and looks so much like a young Queen Silvia!

There is a lot of gossip that Meg is expecting twins, betting has been halted because there was a flurry of sudden bets. If it's true maybe then a country house sounds more relaxing for an instant family of four, plus her mum?

IdaBWells · 26/11/2018 09:49

The Princess Royal, Princess Alexandria and Princess Beatrice all have homes and apartments within St. James's Palace

BlingLoving · 26/11/2018 10:00

I think they are 100% right to move away. No matter how close you are to family, living in each other's pockets is not great. And there's no doubt that kensington Palace, while a gorgeous apartment and bigger than most of us could dream of, does mean they don't get the privacy that a normal family would want.

What's annoying me is these ridiculous rumours and comments. Richard Palmer, on Twitter, was talking about Frogmore house etc. All fine. He does highlight it's being paid for by the tax payer, disapprovingly. But then he says, "The crazies on Twitter won’t like it but it is clear that Meghan is regarded as difficult and demanding by some in the family and on the staff.". I just don't get it? How is her move to Frogmore a sign of her being difficult and demanding!?!

I completely agree re the cultural differences. For all that Americans have no official class structure, it's very much a "service" culture in that some people pay for service and other people are paid to provide service. And the rules are pretty strict - if you're being paid, good money, you're expected to provide quick efficient service. The person paying doesn't need to be warm and fuzzy, but does need to provide clear instructions and appropriate payment. That's certainly the sense I've always got. While in the UK, the rich and royals are supposed to be so humble see themselves as no different to the people serving them etc etc etc but really secretly do often think they're better and can be astonishingly patronising.

Clionba · 26/11/2018 10:32

Princess Anne stays at St James' in a very small apartment. Her husband, Timothy Laurence, rents a flat in Dolphin Square.

FlamingJuno · 26/11/2018 10:34

Isn't there always a rumour about twins because what could be better and more newsworthy than one Royal baby - well, two!
When CP Mary was expecting her twins, was that announced ahead of the birth, or was it a surprise until they arrived?

I didn’t think Megan’s mum was sitting next to anyone tbh she seemed very much alone and on her own. Doesn’t she have any family of her own

OlennasWimple · 26/11/2018 11:28

The rumour of twins also carries with it the speculation of assisted conception, of course. (Note - I'm not saying H&M had help, just that twins speculation, particularly where the woman is older, is often a nudge and wink towards that)

GrumbleBumble · 26/11/2018 11:54

Olennas Spontaneous twins are more common in older mothers though so it shouldn't set people nudging and winking (but of course it does).

queenofarles · 26/11/2018 11:55

Doria sat alone ,next to her sat a friend of Meghan and her husband ,no immediate family member was present , the wedding guests were mostly actors, agents, PR,stylists, and i believe a yoga instructor.

im not a fan of the DM for various reasons, but i find most of the time they are pretty accurate, Meghan meeting the Queen , news of an "imminent" engagement announcement was all first reported by DM,no one believed it at the time, also news of her being demanding and difficult with staff, was repeated by a poster on here.

QP Mary twins news was announced way before the birth,i remember reading about it In summer 2010 and they were born in feb 2011,

shrededd You can clearly see here, her friend being mentioned, not some fan research on insta, These are the prime pews guests, seat next to Doria was empty . I just wish some family member or friend of Doria was sat next to her, she looked completely alone.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/11/2018 12:32

Completely missing the point, but there was a wedding guest called Mrs Silver Tree??

If you work as an actor, most of your work-based pals are going to be actors, agents, PRs, stylists etc....

ElspethFlashman · 26/11/2018 13:23

There is definitely a proper garden in Apt 1A. It was known as Princess Margaret's rose garden or something. It's a walled garden, plenty big enough for kids. Dunno if there are pics of it.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 26/11/2018 13:29

Had a quick google for the actual announcement when the pregnancy was disclosed-

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,”

I’m sure if it was twins they’d have avoided specifically saying “a baby” and just mentioned that she was pregnant.
