Other families that I know who have family businesses, multiple houses, lots of furniture and cars seem to work on a combination of need, asking first, and custom or tradition as to who gets the farmhouse / the holiday house during August / Grandad's old Landrover. Presumably the Royal Family are similar?

AhoyDelBoy · 24/11/2018 21:13

I’m a bit late to the kitchen chat but wanted to contribute. I guess the ‘two kitchen’ thing could be similar to the very trendy ‘butlers pantry’ (very popular on ‘The Block’ TV show). The butlers pantry is essentially a whole adjoining kitchen Shock

Thé DM is very insistent that there is a rift between the brothers here

Apparently apartment 1 was refurbished and the Gloucesters have moved out.
Well let’s see how things pan out between the brothers.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/11/2018 21:19

Lots of détails about Frogmore. It is a gorgeous spot.

Cornwall73 · 24/11/2018 21:21

There have been rumours that the Gloucesters were not that keen to move out of their apartments to make way for H&M. Maybe now they confirmed their pregnancy so early in their marriage they want a much more private residence to bring up their child. W&K did and who can blame them.

Cornwall73 · 24/11/2018 21:23

Doubt there is a rift, just a couple making their own decisions and as soon as they are a ‘bit different’ to his brother’s decision the rumour mill starts

Paradyning · 24/11/2018 21:42

There's a blind about the 'rift' today in CDAN. I always take them with a pinch of salt as you never know what comes first, the story or the blind. BUT it is basically saying Kate and MM aren't friends and Kate's been chatting to Hazzer about MM's 'true' intentions.
There's a load of crazies on't'internet people.

PawneeParksDept · 24/11/2018 21:44

@CurlyWurlyTwirly

I've got to ask why the French e? Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/11/2018 22:01

@Pawnee

I’ve just got both the English and French keyboards set up on my iPad and depending on what mood the iPad is in it autocorrects in French!

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 24/11/2018 22:02

No real reason why KM & MM should be friends though. They are 2 women married to brothers. You only need to read a few threads on MN to know you don’t have to like the in laws!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/11/2018 22:06

This from CDAN

Markle's stylist, Jessica Mulroney, gets freebies from designers because Meghan isn't allowed to. She gives the clothes to Markle who wears them. Then the designer charges Charles, Harry's father, full price for the clothes. Then, Jessica and Markle split the money 50/50. This explains why Markle never wears British designers' clothes, why the clothes never fit her well, and why she is determined to wear such expensive clothes, sometimes 3 outfits in one day, and has run up a huge clothing bill.
Would explain a few things...
And maybe also why Kate has made a point of recycling her clothes...

Paradyning · 24/11/2018 22:09

I read that one when it came out @CurlyWurlyTwirly but could never get my head around it. Why would a designer charge Charlie for clothes that were gifted?

UrsulaPandress · 24/11/2018 22:12

Seriously?

Headstand · 24/11/2018 22:14

That is clearly complete rubbish.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/11/2018 22:18

The thinking is that the designer gives freebies for publicity, but A member of the RF is not allowed to accept freebies. Meghan theoretically needs cash, so this is the “scam”
There is a lot of serious ill will around Meghan. It’s worse than anything which was ever written about Kate.

Paradyning · 24/11/2018 22:22

Yes it definitely is. I guess for very obvious reasons.

Paradyning · 24/11/2018 22:27

In think the DM reads CDAN too

Paradyning · 24/11/2018 22:28

It's such a lazy narrative to set women up against each other.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/11/2018 22:29

Frogmore cottage was mentioned earlier in the year as a home for Meghan and Harry I do recall.
I guess when the scaffolding went up around apartment 1 (I presume for normal maintenance works); someone assumed it was for M&H. So a non story took on a life of its own.

Paradyning · 24/11/2018 22:32

Anyhow back to the fluffy Fluffy stuff.

Here's Charlene at the GP Abu Dhabi looking gorgeous. I do love those double pearl earrings

Diana vs Fergie all over again.
They were known as the Merry Wives of Windsor and really were good friends. They gate crashed Andrew’s stag do dressed as police women

They were photographed poking someone’s bottom with a brolly at Ascot. Diana was desperate to be in Its aRoyal Knockout; but Charles forbade it..

AhoyDelBoy · 24/11/2018 22:44

I have to agree Headstand Hmm

Bloominglovely · 24/11/2018 22:45

Diana's apartment was probably considered very stylish in the 1990s.

I hope there isn't a rift, and I really don't believe there is one. The two brothers can't continue to live beside each other, who among us lives next door to a sibling in what is already a pressure tank. It is much easier to spread out to try and achieve some level of privacy surely.

I agree that the number of homes being funded by taxpayers is quite simply appalling. The cost of renovating homes they are only half interested in living in, is disgusting. That said, I read somewhere that after a considerable investment of one (or even two) million in one of the properties, all they had actually done was put in new windows and put on a new roof. The upkeep of these properties seems to be colossal although of course that could be easily reduced by reducing the number of homes they own!
