Am now googling local photographers and wondering just how weak a moment I'd need to catch DH in before he'd agree to having a family pic taken Grin I don't have many nice photos of the whole family, and especially not of me and DS Sad

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/11/2018 13:44

Where have those photos been released? I can't see them on any of the royal Instagram accounts.

here we are - it's not actually quite as bad as I remembered Grin

That's so Maxima! The middle princess (Ariane? Arielle?) has such gorgeous coloured hair.

They are marching with purpose there. Not sure Wax is totally convinced by the concept, but he's going for it gamely Grin

Yes, her hair is beautiful.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 13/11/2018 13:58

Have spent both teabreaks and lunchhour catching up with the Vogue history (?) of Kate's outfits. Wow, she rarely makes a mistake in her formal/work wear does she?

Absolutely loathe the Vogue shoot though. Hideous clothes and she is unrecognisable.

I love her in Orla Kiely (esp. that adorable picture with Paddington). I don't know how she does it but when she's pregnant, she manages to look, if not radiant, then completely serene and happy - which is quite a feat for someone trying not to throw up 24/7. Somehow she just looks incredibly cute when she's expecting.

I would love to get pregnant just to wear the gold ensemble that Max was wearing!

I'm now going to catch up on the rest of this thread get on with some work.

itswinetime · 13/11/2018 14:00

Hmmm not sure they have been officially released yet they are doing the rounds on twitter though

RosinaAlmaviva · 13/11/2018 14:14

What a little bundle of cuteness is baby Louis.

He is adorable. I rolled my eyes when I heard that W&K were having another (if you chunter on about the environment should you then have a third child, etc.) but from the very first pictures Louis won my heart and I wouldn't be without him now. Smile

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/11/2018 14:44

Hello has the scoop on Charles' birthday party guests. Lots of Euro royals but alas no Max n Wax!

Ktay · 13/11/2018 14:45

Yes apparently those pics are officially embargoed until tomorrow 👀

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/11/2018 14:55

Ooer I wonder who broke the embargo? They'll be in trouble...

Who does Max remind me of, it's driving me nuts!

Spudlet · 13/11/2018 15:05

She reminds me a bit of someone I did NCT with, but probably that's not who you had in mind...

The thought of the bawling out that the embargo-breaker is due is making me want to hide under a desk 😱

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/11/2018 16:32

Thanks to pps for the official birthday photos.
I’m a bit old school and like the formal photo.
Kate, Louis & Charlotte have the most gorgeous beaming smiles
Louis is just adorable.
I suspect the Cambridge family photo will probably have been taken on that day too & will be released at Christmas.

Here’s my contribution for today interiors of Clarence House & Dumfries house released by Charles for his birthday.
Also a lovely shot of him fishing with Harry.

Guest list for tomorrow night looks very glam.
Hopefully we will at least see some shots of them arriving.
Given how pr friendly Charles is feeling at the moment, maybe we’ll get some shots of the family dressed up.

PawneeParksDept · 13/11/2018 16:33

I went looking for the usual DM sycophancy on this sort of thing and didn't find it, surprised it's out on Twitter if embargoed

It has made me think "oh Diana" a little bit, which normally I never do.

RE their educations

It was extremely common for the education of girls in that class and at that time to be considered "a waste of money" for what would they be bar wives and mothers? Considering the war was on its way, and Britain would change forever and HMQ herself would train as a mechanic its mindblowing to consider how unthinkable that prospect would have been just 10 years before. The Crown shows that the Queen once heir did take some private classes at Eton but they would have been basic and largely history based

The Mitfords who I've mentioned before (and I promise I won't bore on Blushbut they were the same social sphere as The Queen and Margaret) suffered a similar fate. For the majority of them, it was no big deal for their social circle was full of their like. Nancy and Jessica however, moved in diverse company and both are said to have felt burning anger at their ignorance and inability to keep up. They refer to it in letters when they are middle aged so it rankled with them that much.

It's amazing how Britain has changed in 100 years and nowhere is that change more marked than in the Royal Family whose latest joiner a divorced American was previously the very reason that HMQs Uncle had to give up the throne!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/11/2018 16:47

Thank you @Spudlet for the Vogue retrospective of Kate. I am still going through it and am reposting the link here for anyone who missed it the first time round.

I love this picture of Sophie, Kate & Camilla at the Order of the Garter Service in 2012. All in shades of white and each lady looking fabulous in their own style.

I thought in one of the photos (possibly of the Royal pregnancies link) that Max looked a bit like Zoe Ball. I'll try to find it...

myrtleWilson · 13/11/2018 17:15

This one....

mmmgoats · 13/11/2018 17:27

I like the new pics! Does anyone know where Kate's spotty dress is from? I know I've seen it upthread [or on an earlier version] but there are so many posts now I can't find it.

I meant to ask, read Ma'am Darling recently and really enjoyed it, anyone know any others in a similar style/tone about the royals? :)

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 13/11/2018 17:32

I'm thinking someone from Neighbours? Or a soap?? With a heart-shaped face and an Aussie accent? Oh it's driving me insane!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 13/11/2018 17:33

Absolutely love those photos. MM dress is gorgeous and really suits her. Love DoC as well.

Pawnee I hadn't thought until you'd said but that is very sad to consider Diana. I have no issue with Camilla as I was very young when it all happened, but she is right at the heart of the family there. I imagine that's rather hard viewing for the princes too - my stepmum organised a v similar shoot (ie all the family generations) and needless to say, those photos stayed well out of my Mum's reach.

user1457017537 · 13/11/2018 17:33

CurlyWurlyTwirly I love this photo and miss when the DOC used to dress like this.

Paradyning · 13/11/2018 17:34

Alessandra Rich. Kate's dress.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 13/11/2018 17:34

Also - how big is George getting!

ElspethFlashman · 13/11/2018 17:36

Oooh I just finished Ma'am Darling! What a juicy book, I gobbled it in about 4 days. I can't think there's many as irreverent as that one though.

I absolutely loathed Lord Snowdon by the end of it. Bad as Margaret was, he was a textbook abuser. So glad the book actually gave the definition of gaslighting when discussing him.
