I think they've sold out in the M now Ella , not to worry, will keep an eye out. I've put weight on recently, I am craving baaaad foods and sitting around far too much.

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 18:03

What has happened to yours @hendricksy ?

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 18:05

Thanks ella..I'll try and get a better pic of the top at some point to post up.

I have 3 Christmas do's coming up over 3 weekends soon, so the outfit will definitely get an airing.

I also bought some massive bling diamanté hoop earrings to wear in a moment of madness! Looking forward to wearing those too Smile

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 18:10

...and my diamanté tiara Grin

NotAnActualSheep · 20/11/2018 18:23

Thanks cherries and soups - I may have to take a deep breath and venture into Primark! (It's one of those shops that I always find too big and confusing to enjoy mooching around in, and I always get lost...). There seem to be a few contenders in H & m and new look too - so I'll have a look next time I'm passing.

Those uniqlo heattech tops are great - I've got a few (along with the M&S equivalent) to layer under jumpers etc, and they are pretty toasty warm. Their sizing indicator thingy recommends me an L (size 12 top) which are fine, though on the looser side, and I reckon an M would be OK too. They are good and stretchy! I've just ordered another couple, and am trying some leggings and tights too (DH has just de-lycra-ised some of my lovely thermal tights by "helping" me and bunging them in the tumble dryer - gaaaaahhhhh).

I had that thought with my MV leggings too, gin Grin. They look tiny, but are weirdly stretchy.

hendricksy · 20/11/2018 18:29

Can you see the material has gone funny on my leg ? I have fairly big thighs but I have the medium and they are a bit big if anything .. certainly not tight .. 🤷‍♀️

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 18:51

dave I’ve always wanted a Tiara but fear I’m now well past the age they look cute on (I’m at least a decade and a half older than you) and when I tried one on just for fun last summer in a shop all the bits got really tangled up with my crazy curly hair Shock good job DH was with me to rescue me without losing masses of hair or being embarrassed to ask the shop assistant to disentangle me Grin

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 18:52

hendricks see what you mean. No longer shiny but crackly?

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 18:53

Oh bless you @SoyYo ! I reckon you coukd still rock a tiara!

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 18:53

Have you washed them yet @hendricksy?

hendricksy · 20/11/2018 18:57

@SoyYo yes!!! I hadn't washed them in that photo as I'd only worn them a few hours . I have now and they are drying . Will see if they get back to me !

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 18:59

*dave thank you Wink I’m sure you really rock yours!
I’ll console myself with my rather glamorous shiny neck and finger shinies AND of course I’m not too old to rock a red lip (finally found the perfect red shade this year in Kiko)

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 19:29

I forgot to tell you about my Boden silk shirt which arrived and is a keeper, even if I don’t end up wearing with the sequin skirt I know it will get lots of wear as all my Boden silk shirts do. It’s the only thing I keep reordering from Johnnie tbh so apologies for being so predictable Wink. I don’t think it warrants the full price but at £72 with the discount and gift voucher definitely good value and flattering 👍

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 19:35

This is it, I got it in black but green looks good too, it’s not fitted but not voluminous either and the 14 was plenty big for my large boobs. Silk is lightweight and with a slight sheen but not satin look or weight, the little fabric covered buttons are good and the frills tiny enough not to detract from the simple lines
m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-partywear/shirts/w0250-blk/womens-black-romaine-silk-shirt

I realised as I went to the site that now they’re doing black Fri 30% discount online so £77 not bad at all and their other silk shirts will be even more bargainous! Mmm

NotAnActualSheep · 20/11/2018 19:38

Oh, cherries - if you want the palazzo pants, do you already have the 20% code (friend20) for me and em - I've just got an email from them? (The "saving" may pay for any alterations needed!). Or you could maybe try the cropped version...I got some cropped trousers from them in the summer which were basically full length on me!

I love a bit of Christmas diamante bling! Would love to see the earrings and tiara Grin

hendricksy how annoying about the leggings - I see exactly what you mean. Hope they get back to you.

NotAnActualSheep · 20/11/2018 19:41

Oh, excellent soy! Glad the shirt is a keeper! And that's pretty good value for a silk one. I've got a great pink silk shirt from boden which I love wearing.

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 20:16

Not 🙈 I mustn’t get anymore I have at least 10 silk shirts (to my defence not all are Boden!) Blush

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 20:20

I inherited a lot of DM jewellery the real “thang” it’s so blingy I can only wear for special events...my DM was a grand dame of legendary beauty and she would think nothing of wearing great big cocktail rings (real) for every day Grin
I’m very grateful for the lovely things I inherited but to date I’ve never found an occasion to wear a double pearl necklace with a huge broach of emerald and diamonds...I may just do it for the work Xmas do this year and pretend it’s fake Grin

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 20:59

Bling!

Love 😍 dave

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 21:08

Thanks! Excuse the shabby clothes and hair!

NotAnActualSheep · 20/11/2018 21:23

Love it Dave! They really suit you. (Also loving the Eeyore (?) on top of the wardrobe Grin).

You should really wear the necklace and broach if you love them, soy. Seems such a shame to keep them in a jewellery box and never get to wear them out!

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 21:32

In fairness not I do wear the rings more often, but the double pearl necklace has the huge blingy broach built in as part of the piece so if it makes sense it’s part of the necklace.
I always feel I should be dressed for a grand ball to do it justice (which is not my life at all) I’ll take a pic tomorrow and you ladies can honestly tell me if it’s something you’d wear to a smart but still relatively speaking casual work Xmas do...

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 22:07

Just watching the news on stretched NHS resources and just want to express my sincere thanks to ella and all of you who work for the NHS. It’s such a stressful time and you all work so hard.
Thank You 🙏

Ellapaella · 20/11/2018 22:15

@DavetheCat2001 I love the tiara! I must have one for Christmas nights out. Where's it from? Also love the hoops. I really like the look of the Hush rainbow hoop 🌈
