I got l/l tees (short sleeves though, not long) in Primark for £3.50. Not sure if they still have them as they no longer have the l/l vests I bought at the same time. White, black, charcoal, baby pink and grey marl.

twosoups1972 · 20/11/2018 13:34

sheep what about a long line vest top? I find they work well for layering.

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 13:37

Thanks...yeah the quality control does leave a bit to be desired I have noticed, but the top is a nice thing to have for the festive season so think I'll keep it.

It's a shame I can't get a decent pic of the sparkle ella. It's not too garish which is good.

twosoups1972 · 20/11/2018 13:38

Reporting back:

Hush Emilia bell sleeve dress - bit meh, it's nothing special. Nice shape but I didn't like the polyester feel and the black looks a bit funeral like. It says it's trimmed with navy, I can hardly see it! Going back.

I also tried a Hush wide jersey top in charcoal marl which didn't really suit me and I didn't think it was worth the money.

On the plus side, these earrings are lovely:

www.hush-uk.com/accessories_2/jewellery_1/earrings/center_star_ear_loop_silver.htm

And also I am delighted with my boots from Office that are MUCH cheaper than the R&B ones I love:
www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/2,42/3271600079

Except now they are 20% off, boo!

twosoups1972 · 20/11/2018 13:39

Has anyone seen any nice knitted dresses around? I want something with a bit of shape, a lot of them seem to be completely shapeless.

twosoups1972 · 20/11/2018 13:57

Also - where's the best place for nice stretchy fitted t-shirts? Uniqlo?

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 14:05

Hi soup I like Uniglo heattech long sleeved tops as a thin layer under jumpers and they’re super warm and slim and just checked and also seem to stock a lot of knitted dresses:
www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/search?q=knitted%20dresses&productSelected=412148

The heatech tops are normal t shirt length so will not cover bum, in case you wanted them similar to the Hush ll vests, but I do recommend

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 14:08

And while I’m here Hi to everybody just caught up with thread Smile
Happy belated birthday hendricks
Like how the sparkly top looks on you Dave good decision to keep Wink
And soup thanks for reporting back as I was wondering about that black Hush dress...

Let’s see if Hush will be a bit more generous this year with Black Friday! Hmm

ilovecherries · 20/11/2018 15:10

Glitter top looks lovely, dave. I thought it was very pretty and only sent it back as I found it a bit itchy on my arms. But it’s a great length and style, and suits your shape very well.

I have all these Black Friday offers flooding into my inbox, but nothing is really talking to me, even at 20-30% off. The one thing I would like is the MeAndEm palazzo pants, but I just know they will be about 4 inches too long so not sure if worth the bother.

twosoups1972 · 20/11/2018 15:23

The Uniqlo knitted dresses are a little too long for me but I have found a nice selection of shorter ones at Jack Wills of all places:

dontcallmelen · 20/11/2018 15:28

twosoups zara had some, not sure if they still have them.
Dave top looks lovely & useful for the festive season.
Primark, usually do some good fitted tshirts, also H&M are really good for vest tops.

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 15:40

Yes soup they’re on offer too so get some you won’t regret it!
I just ordered some and also thought I’d try the ballet neck version as invisible under jumpers.
And got DC and DH some while I was at it.
I ordered L (size 34FF top) which are perfect for size 12/14 top. They’re very slim/really warm as a winter layer

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 15:49

Did you find the arms felt a bit tight too on the sparkly top, cherries?

They are a bit of a strange length, I feel like I need to josh them up a bit and they are a bit snug on the arms.

GinandGingerBeer · 20/11/2018 16:20

The MV leggings have arrived. They're tiny! No way am I getting my arse in them 😂

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 16:21

Which size did you go for Gin? They are quite stretchy

twosoups1972 · 20/11/2018 16:22

Thank you SoyYo I've tried the medium, I want them really fitted. Ordered grey and off white.

GinandGingerBeer · 20/11/2018 16:24

This is them on top of size 10 MV jeans.
I know they're leggings & meant to stretch but they'd need to be 100% elastic or miracle material to get over my knees

Here are the Hushistas - counting down for a Very Meryl-y festive season
GinandGingerBeer · 20/11/2018 16:24

I went for S

SoyYo · 20/11/2018 16:56

Good call soup Yes I go for L but if you’re a 10/12 on top best to go for M for a tighter fit, in fact the L I have is not that tight...just perfect and they wash really well/keep their shape and dry super fast.

Oh No Gin Sad but they do stretch a lot! If you can’t get them on at all to test stretch potential then MV are pretty fast at refunding as I returned my L pair on Sat and already received a refund acknowledgment mail today, or see if you can exchange for M? (assuming you like them enough)

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 16:59

The M was out of stock when I tried to order mine Sad

ilovecherries · 20/11/2018 17:00

Yes, I did find the sleeves felt tight, dave and the one thing I do have is quite slender arms! Mine was a small, and I did try the M in JL, but it swamped me - and actually still felt a bit tight on the arms. A bit like compression sleeves!

DavetheCat2001 · 20/11/2018 17:03

Yes it's a strange cut..but..it does give me an option to wear with my MV leggings and also black skinny jeans and black coated jeans.

I did notice that it has a strange chemically smell..must be something in the material.

Ellapaella · 20/11/2018 17:45

The top looks fab with your leggings Dave - would love to see the sparkle effect but I bet it looks lovely, it'll make a lovely outfit for a night out over the Christmas season.
Gin I'm a pretty standard 10 (but would never squeeze into an 8) and I have the medium leggings which are a perfect fit. In my experience MV are small in sizing, the size 10 trousers are always too small for me but the 12's are just a tad too loose in the waist.

hendricksy · 20/11/2018 17:58

Mine have gone a bit funny , I've messaged MV but no reply .. shame
