These leggings are beyond gorgeous. I loved them when I ordered - I sent them back as I was still losing weight so I thought it was daft to keep them. The smell, the texture, everything about them says luxe. I have the Next ones as well, and I like them, but I don’t see them as a leather substitute - to me, they are more a substitute/alternative to denim. I’m not sure about the cleaning aspect - I’m a bit of a minter about cleaning outer clothing, and now I’m past the stage of periods, and not yet at the stage of incontinence, it would seem it’s the golden moment for leather :)

ilovecherries · 09/11/2018 11:32

I really like those trainers sheep - but I live in trainers. I also have the Skechers ella linked to, but I have been looking for a pair with a black sole for winter.

This is me. I am not quite there yet but havent had a period since June. Before that, it was literally 11 months. So hoping this is it for me.

ilovecherries · 09/11/2018 11:34

I go back and forth between the Baukjen leggings and the Hush ones. I have a fair bit of money in my ebay account again, so I’m still very tempted. What size did you get never? I had the 12 and the 14 at Xmas, the 14 was def too big, and I might have managed the 12 if the rise had been higher, but I’d hope the 12 would be fine now. My next ones are a 12.

Huffthepuff · 09/11/2018 11:35

I really think if you can afford them (which it sounds like you can!) then they will be a staple for you. Totally agree you shouldn't save for best. They can be worn anytime and will fit in with your wardrobe. I'm thinking Hush wide jersey top and Sabrina cardigan with scarf. Sooo stylish. They also make you look a bit like the woman from The Bridge so you can solve crimes whilst looking chic

ilovecherries · 09/11/2018 11:36

I got to 11 months twice, I think, and had my last one on my 52nd birthday - how average was that!

ilovecherries · 09/11/2018 11:39

I’m a great believer in airing clothes outside on a nice day, even in the winter, and spot cleaning as necessary. I’m neurotically clean with regard to towels, sheets, underwear, tee shirts etc, but the rest - nothing that a good blast of fresh air won’t deal with. :)

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 09/11/2018 11:52

I agree cherries :) The only thing with me is the night and day sweats. I have been taking evening primrose oil and it has made a huge difference for now. I have hardly had a sweat. The only sweating i have done has been because my classrooms heating is bust and it was literally 30 degrees in the class. We have had to have it switched off when it peaked 35. The poor kids.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 09/11/2018 11:55

I got the 12. They are not generous and the rise is a little on the low side but nothing i cant cope with. They are a wriggle to get on but you are not pear shaped so they will glide on you.

They also make you look a bit like the woman from The Bridge so you can solve crimes whilst looking chic

Love it!!!

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 09/11/2018 11:58

Oh and should have said @cherries. The jumper i have on in the leather leggings shot is the hush bf cashmere jumper btw.

Ellapaella · 09/11/2018 12:11

@Alwaysasparklymoment99 STOP! Just stop I can't handle it anymore! Those Hush leather leggings are to die for and omg your DM boots with the dress.. I have too much clothes envy going on right now...
You must keep the leather leggings, you can really see the difference in quality and I love how you've styled them with that top and boots.

twosoups1972 · 09/11/2018 12:30

Checking in to new thread. I hope I won't be spending too much money, or is that wishful thinking? Grin

Huffthepuff · 09/11/2018 13:00

It's a dangerous place to be @twosoups1972 😂 so many beautiful clothes

Huffthepuff · 09/11/2018 13:03

@ilovecherries do you have the Baukjen catalogue? They sent me one a couple of weeks ago and it's got a 25% off code on it. Just in case you were thinking of trying their leather leggings... I'm probably going to order a couple of bits from them as it's such a good discount and their clothes are gorgeous

NotAnActualSheep · 09/11/2018 13:36

Phew - glad I haven't gone totally rogue with the trainers. Thanks for your opinions all. I do like the various leopard-y ones, but think I'll stay plain for now, as they will probably be more versatile.

@always - I'm so glad you've decided to keep (and wear!) the leather leggings. They look amazing. Really really like them with the jumper in the first photo, as well as with the dress and DMs - but personally I think you can wear them pretty much as trousers rather than a tight-replacement (I know a big S&B no-no with leggings generally) as they are so thick and lovely, and your legs look soooo long and slim Envy! The next ones look great on you too but they will always feel like a second choice, and presumably wouldn't be worn so much.

NotAnActualSheep · 09/11/2018 13:37

Lol @huff "the woman from the Bridge"!

NotAnActualSheep · 09/11/2018 13:39

Oh - just realised the ones with the dress and DMs aren't the leather ones... Blush. Ignore me... they still look fab..

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 09/11/2018 14:47

Thanks everyone for your lovely positive comments. Well decided to keep them but won't be buying anything more until the sales now. I have plenty. So will be looking enviously at everyone else's purchases!!!!!

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 09/11/2018 14:50

Also decided like you laska to return the glitter top. Its too samey with my others. I can't justify it in the light of my other spends so its already on its way back.

dontcallmelen · 09/11/2018 15:27

Ok, so have given up n trying too figure out who has what Meryl in what size, sure they are all lovely.
Always the leather trousers are beautiful, glad you are keeping them & already wearing rather than just keeping for ‘best’ definitely the best thing to do, otherwise they get stashed in the wardrobe & stare balefully.

GinandGingerBeer · 09/11/2018 15:43

Ooh @Alwaysasparklymoment99 I am so Envy at your leather trousers. You look amazing in them.
I've had about 4 pairs of coated skinnies from Next this week and have finally settled on a pair that didn't make me look like black pudding too much
@Laska3Meryl the XS Meryl looks fab, I love love love it but I have a really short neck. When I had an operation on my upper spine and they had to send for a collar from the children's hospital Grin

dontcallmelen · 09/11/2018 15:57

Laskaconfusedhowmanymerylsyouhave sorry that dm is not making much improvement, difficult for you & all the family it’s so difficult when it’s not just one issue to contend with, especially as it then involves so many different specialists etc in the care plans 💐

dontcallmelen · 09/11/2018 15:58

Lol at Always channeling inner Scandi detective 😂

ilovecherries · 09/11/2018 16:02

Oh, a 25% code, huff? That would be a game changer fore sure. I don’t think I’ve had a catalogue recently, have been trying to go paper free. Do you have a referral code? I can always use a different email address.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 09/11/2018 16:18

Are the baukjen ones good @cherries? Did you try them?
