Ooof - that was a bit of a day...just finished work (reviewing an 873 page document ffs - if we can withdraw from the EU with 500-odd pages I really don't think some warehouses merited all 873 pages...) and now on the sofa with Wine and feet up, slippers on. (And also v neck wide top and leopard leggings - so I think I'm channelling soy today Grin.

Still haven't decided on the MV leggings/ treggings. They aren't as bad as I thought yesterday on the sausage front, but I do feel rather wobbly in them, and think I would be self-conscious. I'll compare with the sosander ones when they arrive (missed the courier today 'cos I was on the toilet Blush - so annoying) - maybe I need something a bit more robust to hold in my wobbly thighs (I'm so sexy...).

I love that jumper on you though @huff - and the way you've layered it is really nice. I was just put off by the length, but do like the fabric and the colour/star, and good to know it doesn't go pants at the first wash too - so I'm definitely reconsidering that now. And i thought I could save £60....

bug - annoying that you didn't make it to an actual MV shop - but lovely, lovely choice of the top and boots! And looking forward to seeing soups haul (esp. the bell-sleeved dress) and dave's sparkly top...

Totally with you all on the older children still being children... I'm still at the "please don't kill yourself by walking into the road/ falling out of a tree" level of parenting (7 year old DS) - but I've always been close to my parents (mum especially) and they have always been totally clear that they want to help wherever they can, and we are always welcome at theirs for any reason. (They even moved closer to us to see us more often when they retired 'cos we lived at opposite ends of the country). I'm so grateful to them - and not just for now having someone to babysit sometimes... Smile. Can't understand this arbitrary cut-off point at which children stop being your "responsibility" - as if they are on some kind of conveyor-belt to adulthood...

Hope you're ok laska Thanks

HL yes he's in 2nd year student accommodation with 5 others in his flat share. The friend was a friend he'd gone through school with and was at a different university. Funeral next Friday.

NotAnActualSheep · 16/11/2018 22:49

Take care @laska and enjoy time with your dgs Flowers. And hope you don't come down with the cold... Envy ( not envy, a green-around-the-gills emoji).

And Flowers for you too @fudge. It must be such a hard time for you all.

SoyYo · 16/11/2018 23:55

As usual catching up late with you all. DH has just left for station to pick up DS who’s been travelling from Brighton since 9pm this eve, favourite food waiting for him in case he’s hungry and if not it’ll be a big Hug and just chill together at the weekend, we’ll probably go see the new Fantastic Beasts movie tomorrow (H.Potter fond memories).
Thank You for sharing your DC experiences it’s good to know I’m not alone. Fudge I’m so sorry for your DS.

not you made me laugh with your 800+ warehouse doc vs Brexit doc! And snap on today’s outfit!Grin
See how you feel on the Grease MV leggings but if they’re not “you” return there’ll be lots of bargains coming up next week on black Fri.

laska hope you have a better time this weekend, try and take it easy if you can (easier said than done with sickness, I’m sure you’ll find fun things to do with dgs)

I’m expecting my Boden silk shirt tomorrow so will let you know what I think.

dontcallmelen · 17/11/2018 09:31

Soy enjoy the film & hope your Ds feels a lot better after spending some time with you, nothing like a mummy hug mine still want them as well.
Laska hope everyone makes a swift recovery, have a lovely time with dgs & hope you manage to swerve the cold bug.

*@davethecat@ my Snoopy lunchbox was yellow with a yellow/red flask which fitted inside. It was my pride and joy! There was a little gift shop in Brent Cross (next to Boots) that sold loads of Snoopy merchandise, I would spend hours browsing in there.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 15:37

Hello everyone. Happy Saturday! Its beautiful here today. Anway had ordered a pair of cheap as chips leopard print boots from New look. Just faux suedette and they are really nice. I will do a link.

leopard boots

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 15:40

I got them today and they are really nice. A little tight on my left foot but I feel as if I have one foot a 7 and the other foot a 6 atm! Stretching them a little with an extra thick sock.

whiskyremorse · 17/11/2018 17:13

Liking those Boots!

dontcallmelen · 17/11/2018 17:17

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 22:00

Gosh its been a bit quiet on here. Not done that much myself today. Just chilled. Anyone else? Have a mountain to tidy tomorrow!!! That and washing and ironing to finish ah well...

Growingboys · 17/11/2018 22:04

Hello, Hope you don't mind me barging in but I wondered if anyone had a Hush code that works please?

I got free p&p but was hoping for a discount as am ordering stuff I really don't need!

On another note, what a lovely thread this is. Everyone so lovely to each other, you really are!

Thank you in advance if anyone has a code.

x

miffy2 · 17/11/2018 22:08

@Growingboys, I will PM you.

miffy2 · 17/11/2018 22:15

I have not bought anything new from Hush for a while BUT I have been wearing a lot.

Today - leopard leggings, black wide jersey top

Yesterday - holly jeans, navy Felix tunic as a top and Nessa cardigan, my all time favourite cardigan.

I also wore my grey/pink Love jumper and Mia trousers that I bought last year and had taken up. They are quite itchy as unlined but I reckon in the colder climes I can wear my Uniqlo heat tech leggings underneath as they are very thin.

Ash metallic star trainers via Brandalley have been a huge success too. Much more comfortable than the Ash Virgin boot trainers that I bought and (unfortunately) returned a couple of years ago. I really wanted to love them so much.

Anyway, a veritable Hushathon in my wardrobe this week. Maybe it means there will be new lovely stuff and a lovelier discount code coming soon.....

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 22:19

Welcome @growingboys. It is a great thread :) and you are welcome to post on it anytime :)
@Miffy, hoping they do a something for black Friday. I ordered the leather leggings so they were £££ but I did have birthday money and have been selling stuff on ebay so don't feel so bad about it. I think everyone is being careful about money because of Christmas but I could be tempted by a few things if there was a percentage off.

miffy2 · 17/11/2018 22:34

Always you SO deserve those leggings and you will wear them so often! Don't feel bad about it, enjoy them. I bought the MV wannabe version and I like them...still not 100% sure though. I had a great pair of leather-look jeggings from new look a few years back (on the recommendation of doesmybumlook40 at the time) and I wore them to bits. I also have leather look jeans from Hush (very low-waisted) and Boden (can't quite get into them right now as they are a 12 and have no give!) but the leggings might be a nice alternative. I will try them on with various tops before I decide. FWIW I bought M and L and an keeping the M as they are a better fit overall.

miffy2 · 17/11/2018 22:34

And YES a Black Friday Hush deal would be...ideal :)

NotAnActualSheep · 17/11/2018 22:38

I love those boots always - a real bargain. I got some fake suede leopard heeled boots from TK maxx a couple of months ago, thinking I wouldn't wear them enough to merit "proper" ones ( fair enough, I've only worn them a couple of times!), but yours are lovely and look pretty versatile.

Finally got the sosandar parcel today, and I think all the fake leather things are going back. The sosandar ones are really good quality and much thicker than the MV ones, but I think I'm the wrong shape for them...they are wrinkly on my knees and I just don't think they are "me", honestly. Worth a go though!

I think I'm going to keep these Ponte leggings though, which fill the smarter- than- leggings- and- comfier- than - jeans role well.

I'm also in love with this velvet jacket but I'm going to have a long, hard talk to myself about whether I will actually wear it. It is really good quality and fits well, but it may be just a bit too evening-y for me to wear enough. I WANT to wear it as a work thing, but think I will chicken out as its too glam...and my social life is basically family trips to pizza express at the moment..so not sure it's suitable for that! Sad

Finally got the hush rose cashmere jumper from brand alley ( only 1 more bit to come now...) and it's like wearing a cloud...soooo soft and lovely, so I'm definitely keeping that. Definitely a lighter weight jumper, but will be really nice layered over a thin thermal top.

We've been at some Christmas markets today...feels far too early, but can't put off the fact that I haven't done anything for christmas so far. And so apparently did the other twelvely- thousand people also there. Was heaving... "oh, it'll be quiet because it's the first weekend and it's not Christmassy yet" says DH... wrong... Was fun though, and mulled wine was spilt drunk.

Hope you've all had a lovely time with your families!

Coriander71 · 17/11/2018 22:43

Hello all, I bought the Emanuelle dress in black with white stars a while back and have been wearing it loads with black tights and boots - love it so much I just bought the navy version with gold arrows which I hope will cover all my Christmas do’s (not a huge range admittedly) as well as being a perfect dress for Christmas Day (lots of room for inevitable overeating). Not sure about footwear though - tempted by some navy suede ankle boots with a bit of a heel but then what colour tights? Anyone else got it, and what do you do with your legs?

fairiesandelves · 17/11/2018 22:56

Hi all ! First time wear of my MV faux leather leggings. Casual dinner and drinks and some walking so no heels. Love them. Thank you all.

Here are the Hushistas - counting down for a Very Meryl-y festive season
Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 23:09

fairies You look fab in your MV leggings.
Not Sounds like it is a mixed bag with your purchase. Love the velvet Jacket. I think you could wear that casually surely? Cherries Loves sosander. I am sure she said she had the faux leather leggings from there too. As for the boots, I really like them despite them being cheapies!!! I am going to wear them to work on Monday with my black cord TU pinafore dress and black tights. That's my plan!!!
Coriander Your dress sounds lovely but I don't have it unfortunately. I am sure others on here do :)

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 23:12

@Coriander - navy suede ankle boots sounds lovely. I suppose you could wear them with navy tights or black sheer tights would work too.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 23:15

When I have navy dresses I usually just wear black tights that are ever so slightly sheer and black shoes or boots. I tend to avoid navy as it can be hard to match. If you cant get navy to match you could wear navy suede boots and a slightly sheerer navy tights.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 17/11/2018 23:16

That way the differences in navy wont show so much.
