Sorry, thanksgiving this year is 22, so BF will be 23rd. For some reason I was convinced it was 2019. Talk about memory loss!

GinandGingerBeer · 16/11/2018 10:48

Not caught up with all the new posts yet but Florence was great and I'm glad I made the effort to go. Shattered today though!
@Dave re the heavy periods, I was in a right old tangle with mine, once they'd ruled out fibroids etc, GP prescribed me tranexamic acid. It's a life saver and virtually stops the flow, so don't suffer Smile it helps with the cramping caused by (sorry if tmi Blush) heavy bleeding and clots. Even helped my back ache.
So don't suffer, you just take it on your heavy days, every 4 hours. (Miss a dose and it comes back straight away)

Ellapaella · 16/11/2018 10:51

Black Friday is 23rd (pay day for me).
I'm planning on doing most of my Christmas shopping that day.

Ellapaella · 16/11/2018 10:52

Ps Dave outfit looks fab. Think either way with boots and leggings (gap or no gap) looks good - no preference here.

Huffthepuff · 16/11/2018 11:31

@NotAnActualSheep I have that jumper from MV. I've worn it loads and it washes well (although I'm careful with it, cool wash in a net bag etc). I found layering it with a shirt helps with the mid length as I prefer longer tops. Definitely has been a good buy for me as I wear it at least twice a week 😊

DavetheCat2001 · 16/11/2018 11:40

Thanks guys..I think sparkly I agree with you on the no gap.

@GinandGingerBeer - thanks for the heavy period tip. I think I'll mention it to my GP next week when I go in about my thinning hair!

I know somebody on here had bought the sparkly wide top..sorry I haven't had time to read back (hellishly busy work day today), so can someone give me the lowdown...is it nice? I only have the green one and wondering if the sparkly might be nice to go with the leggings for Xmas?

My lovely mum has sent me a bit of money so the MV leggings and a pair of outrageously large diamanté hoop earrings have been purchased, so i may also treat my left to a xmas top.

Or has anyone seen/bought anything nicer?

Huffthepuff · 16/11/2018 11:41

Dave love that outfit! With gap or without. Both ways look good. Also think a leopard print scarf would look fab with it...

Huffthepuff · 16/11/2018 11:44

I think New Look and Accessorize have nice leopard print scarfs at the mo for around 0.2 Meryl. I may be projecting as I love an animal print scarf but I do think it would look great with your green wide top/boden boots

DavetheCat2001 · 16/11/2018 11:48

Thanks huff..will check them out.

Does anyone have a free p&p code at the moment?

Huffthepuff · 16/11/2018 11:49

For Hush? WINTER18

DavetheCat2001 · 16/11/2018 12:03

Yes please..thank you huff xx

SoyYo · 16/11/2018 17:09

You look cool in your jumper huff (also like your copper sink Wink)
Gin glad you had a good gig!
dave you look lovely in both pics 👍 hope GP can help you too fast. On the leggings I think if you show ankle it’s fine with trainers on and better not showing ankle with those fab boots on.

I’m glad the weekend is just round the corner now 🙂hope you all get to do something you love

SoyYo · 16/11/2018 17:14

Ah yes always and cherries and dave I’m wearing black v neck wide top today too with the leopard M&S leggings though and Hush skippers Grin
Super stylish home worker gear! Grin

SoyYo · 16/11/2018 17:15

Lol slippers not skippers!

SoyYo · 16/11/2018 17:15

Although they are slippers for kipper feet so maybe a Freudian slip...Wink

twosoups1972 · 16/11/2018 17:22

@davethecat that outfit looks great.

How wide do those Hush tops come up?

DavetheCat2001 · 16/11/2018 17:38

@twosoups1972 They are pretty roomy so I would say try a size down to your usual.

Thanks @SoyYo

I've ordered the sparkly wide v top today to try on with my MV leggings.

What is everyone up to this Friday evening?

OH is doing a babysitting favour for one of our friends in my place as I am feeling all periody and yucky and can't be arsed! OH has bought me an M&S pizza and a bottle of red wine and I am planning on doing nothing more than lounging on the sofa MN'ting and watching tv as soon as I have managed to get the kids to bed (which seems so near yet so far at this moment)

DavetheCat2001 · 16/11/2018 17:39

Does anyone else ever find their kids just REALLY irritating!

I know I shouldn't say that, but...it's true!

twosoups1972 · 16/11/2018 17:40

Thanks @davethecat

It's our wedding anniversary today. Dh and I had a lovely day in London, we went to the Peanuts exhibition at Somerset House followed by lunch at Sushi Samba Smile

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 16/11/2018 17:43

Yes!!!! Totally @Dave. My dd [ the 7 year old ] Is a nightmare. The sad thing is they are rarely in bed early these days esp at the weekend. We have trained them badly. They usually go to bed at around 10pm esp my nearly 12 year old daughter. They tend to entertain themselves though except my youngest oh and she is such a pain and doesn't get on with her big sister so its squabbling ALL the time.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 16/11/2018 17:45

The sparkly wide top is lovely @Dave. I ordered but returned it as I have the gold glittery easy dress and the silver one from last year. That is how I ended up with my new name ha ha ha....

DavetheCat2001 · 16/11/2018 17:47

10pm???? auuugh! I try and get my 5 year old into bed by 7pm, although I have to sit in the room with her until she goes to sleep (a bad habit we need to break) so often I'm in there for another 20 mins or so, and if I am aware she is trying to keep herself awake, I get really irritated!

My 7 year old is pretty good and is in bed with lights off by 8pm, although he is the master of trying to stall actually getting into bed.

I see my precious evening evaporating in front of me and feel very hard done by (Mother of the Year I ain't!)

DavetheCat2001 · 16/11/2018 17:48

Happy Anniversary @twosoups1972 !

Do you mean Peanut the cartoon exhibition?? If so I am very jealous as I LOVE Peanuts..had all the books/posters/duvet covers etc etc when I was young!

twosoups1972 · 16/11/2018 17:48

@ellapaella

Sorry to go back quite a bit but the grey jumper you're wearing on p. 20, is that from H&M? It looks lovely.

twosoups1972 · 16/11/2018 17:52

Yes @davethecat that's the one! If you're a fan, I would definitely recommend the exhibition if you can get into Central London. They had loads of the comic strip on display along with bits of film and information about how he became a cartoonist.

I had a Snoopy lunch box in the 80s! There was a shop at the end, I wanted to buy something but we were in a rush to go for lunch so I may well pop back and browse at my leisure!
