cherries shame about the baujken trousers, trouble with most trousers it’s a mission finding the right cut, especially on the hips.

ilovecherries · 15/11/2018 11:03

I actually really like you in the mv leggings, but you need to love them. Meryls is fabulous but I’m a sucker for oversized grey jumpers.

ilovecherries · 15/11/2018 11:05

That’s the issue, Len. I have size 10 legs, hips and bum but a generous 12 waist and tum.

Laska3Meryl · 15/11/2018 11:24

shame about the Baujken leggigs cherries . will you be trying the Hush ones?
Thanks for the thumbs up on MV leggings but I just know I wont wear them.. ( I definitely wouldnt at work, and dont go out 'dressy-up' much.. I know DH would love them though!! ( I'm not giving him the chance!! Wink) oh heck, that makes him sound like a right old perv, well he's a bloke..

Grey Meryl.. mmmmmmm. I expect it is staying..(I, mean, Its a Meryl!) but I really will have to forgo looking at anything else..

What else is coming? Boden tops (x4! - I wont keep them all 2 are multiple sizes ) , and this skirt in the rust.

I also have some M&S stuff coming for christmas presents as I had a 20% .

NotAnActualSheep · 15/11/2018 12:13

I love the MV leggings on you laska3Meryl, and the snakey M&S ones look great too, but I know what you mean about not really having any opportunity to wear them. Same won't be said about the grey meryl, though - which is lovely. But then I'm biased and not at all stalking the website for a pink return, oh no..
And I wish you hadn't given me the heads up on Ros mari - This pine cone necklace is gorgeous and really unusual. I've been looking for a nice "nature" necklace that isn't flowers or animals/birds/ insects for a while (doesn't leave all that much, I grant you). Maybe i'll ask for that for Christmas...

Pity about the baukjen leggings cherries. Another brand may work with your shape better, maybe?

twosoups - those boots are really, really similar - especially the heel. Definitely give them a go.

dontcallmelen · 15/11/2018 12:14

Laska skirt looks like a really good wardrobe staple, glad you are keeping the meryl it is lovely.
My Dh asked if I was auditioning for the local amdram production of Grease when he saw the leggings😳😳

DavetheCat2001 · 15/11/2018 12:16

I think the leggings look great on you Laska. You have great legs!

My MV's have just arrived. I had to order the small as all the mediums hadgone. They feelcomfy but not sure if they look a bit too tight. Tried on here with my old MV boots and trainers. What do you think?

They look good Dave

twosoups1972 · 15/11/2018 13:16

I think they look fab dave

Question about the MV leggings - I am tempted but I wonder if they will suit me. I am inverted triangle shape so wider shoulders than hips. I do love my skinnies but I wonder if leggings with a chunky jumper will make my top half look even wider....?

Laska3Meryl · 15/11/2018 13:31

That's what I am also twosoups see above photo! Im pretty much a 14 on top due to norks and quite wide shoulders and narrow hips more 12/10.. I'm certainly not putting my self up a apex of big jumper / MV leggings loveliness but it may give you some idea..

..... but they are cheap enough and free returns

dont forget to use code TOGETHER15 for 15% off

Just popping in for some light relief as I’m having a “Death by Powerpoint” day today and see the new lovely Meryl on laska and with £20 off too! No brainer really and you need to live up to your name Wink, nice Boden skirt too!

Yes I thought Sandy @Grease (but fatter and much much older) when I saw myself in the MV leggings but I still like them so I’m keeping. So there! Grin and dave I think they look great on you I wouldn’t size up and soup I’m same shape as cherries laska and you : exaggerated inverted triangle and yes it’s a bitch trying to balance our shape, depends whether you wear leggings at all and what you feel comfortable with. If you’ve not worn leggings in a while then go the whole way and try the MV as they are cheap with the discount and free returns?

not oh my that necklace is lovely 🙈not looking at that website okay? and very unusual

cherries shame the Baukjen were a nay but now you can try Hush! Grin

twosoups1972 · 15/11/2018 13:45

Thank you @laska and @SoyYo may give them a go.

Opinions on this dress I saw in Zara the other day?

www.zara.com/uk/en/dress-with-pockets-p06254150.html?v1=7467508&v2=1074618

SoyYo · 15/11/2018 13:50

But I tell you what: one of the advantages of hanging out with the biker crowd is that they’re the most unstylish in a very stylish weird way crowd. Anything goes! Specially if it involves leather, camo, hoodies, biker boots and shiny leggings!

I’m sure their style is one of the key reasons I befriended them in my teens and ended up marrying one Grin so I can continue to dress like a demented rock throwback well into my nineties!
Oh yes the bikes are not bad either Wink

SoyYo · 15/11/2018 13:54

soup very sixties vibe that Zara dress in an understated way.
To be honest I’d never try it myself because I’d immediately discard it as not suiting my shape disclaimer I wear things that don’t suit my shape so I’d say try it on and if you feel good in it Yes.

SoyYo · 15/11/2018 14:00

Meant I’d never think of trying it because of my shape and the high neck...have you tried it on?

dontcallmelen · 15/11/2018 14:02

soup I really like the zara dress, bit different & definitely a sixties vibe.
I have no idea what shape I am😳 probably that’s why I find it so hard knowing what suits me, I’m drawn to more fitted clothes as I feel a bit daft in anything to oversized/loose as I feel swamped being so short.
Dunno food for thought.

SoyYo · 15/11/2018 14:08

melen I reckon you’re what they call a “gamine” shape: petite and small boned a la Audrey Hepburn and a dress like the one soup posted above wouldn’t swamp you but highlight your positives...I’m only going by your descriptions and the photo you posted in the leggings upthread.
Then it’s a matter of also being true to the style you feel most at home with (romantic, gentlewoman, sporty etc) maybe you like vintage styles?

SoyYo · 15/11/2018 14:11

I have to go back to my neverending PowerPoint as I have a work call to present later this pm but in YouTube search for gamine style and see what comes up, I recall watching some videos based on a questionnaire some fashion boy developed and some of it makes sense to help you identify what styles suit your shape best

dontcallmelen · 15/11/2018 14:13

Soy that’s interesting, never even heard of that shape, yes definitely like vintage, I have a couple of original fifties dresses (boat necks fitted top & full skirts, also have a few fitted shift dresses which look good I think)

SoyYo · 15/11/2018 14:27

It’s “kibbe” body shapes I was thinking of, search for that in YouTube melen (but I warn you it’s a whole rabbit hole!) I just searched in my history and this is as good as any for starters:

SoyYo · 15/11/2018 14:28

Then once you’re pretty sure you understand your shape and the styles that suit it it’s a matter of matching that to your personal style preferences

GinandGingerBeer · 15/11/2018 14:50

Afternoon all. Trying to psych myself up to get ready, we have tickets got Florence & the machine with a 3 course meal tonight in Leeds . Normally I'd be raring to go but I'm so zapped of energy I wish I was going to bed. But I'm gonna get the war paint on and make an effort.

❤️ you all in the MV leggings
@ilovecherries that sounds so painful I don't blame you at all for wanting surgery

@Laska r u sure you're still a 36" bra strap? You look so tiny! Get that tape measure out.

Going to try my old mv leggings, sylvie blouse n hush blazer tonight.

Catch u later Smile
