CurlyWurlyTwirly Samantha Merkle is someone with no credibility when it comes to personal relationships as her own children chose to be estranged from her.

The rest is just gossipy hearsay. I am not a uncritical fan of Meghan, I feel neutral toward her. I am most definitely not a supporter of any woman's character being torn to shreds without any evidence. We all know that women marrying in to the RF are under the microscope and highly criticized.

I still have yet to read anything that seems credible, I prefer to live and let live and hope her pregnancy goes well.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2018 02:48

I'm with you @IdaBWells, and let's not forget that there's nothing the tabloids like more than tearing down a woman, especially a woman of colour. "No smoke without fire" is exactly what they want you to think!

No axe to grind either. However there are red flags re how cold hearted she was ending previous marriage etc. I still can’t get over the no long term friends at the wedding and no I don’t think the Clooneys, Mulrooney’s etc are long term friends. Ditto Doria who arrived unaccompanied by a family member or close friend. Sorry but something is ringing a bell for me.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2018 03:38

Was she cold-hearted? Her ex-husband hasn't much to say, only her ex-friend who, lets face it, doesn't seem to have been much of a friend if she went running to the press. And Doria may well have had friends attending the wedding, we just don't know who they were!

Her ex-agent has said MM was picky and likes to move on quickly. There is talk of non-disclosure agreements having been signed.

Colabottle10 · 11/11/2018 06:29

@CurlyWurlyTwirly Link to the 'other' thread please!

Colabottle10 · 11/11/2018 06:32

@CurlyWurlyTwirly Ignore me - found it!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/11/2018 06:41

Meghan’s dress underneath looked pretty. I really like the neckline. Much more flattering than the high round neck.

From the way she is holding her hands & cradling the bump, I would say it is really growing.

No idea what her engagement schedule is, so we’re not really going to see much of her shape.

The DM have a pic of Sophie now in the black lace dress. Princess Alexandra also looks wonderful.
There's also a pics of Charlene and MT of Lux at the French do.

TipseyTorvey · 11/11/2018 07:30

I love both Kate and Meghans black dresses. I saw a comment from someone on IG asking why Meghan isn't wearing a poppy (which she is, it's just tiny) which just shows the level of scrutiny. I suspect The Sun and The Mail both have an army of people over in the US trying to dig up some horrendous scandal on Meghan. As for her having friends most of the cast of suits attended and she'd been working with them for years. I don't have that many friends now, especially since DC, as I've had to whittle it down to those I have time for and REALLY want to spend time with. She may just be the sort sort of person that doesn't 'need' loads of friends. I'm reserving judgement until i see some huge evidence that she's a terrible person.

Quite hilariously, the Harper's Bazaar article on Lady Jane Fellowes calls the boy of the Spencer family Earl.

'Diana’s three siblings (from left): Sarah, Jane and Earl, in 2004.'...

'Both Sarah and Earl, Diana's other siblings spoke out about the media's involvement in their sister's death, while Jane chose to keep quiet and under the radar.'

VanillaSugary · 11/11/2018 07:43

Harry is looking sad there. I once watched one of those Remembrance things with the first Military Wives and I blubbed through the whole thing. Good on the RF for not getting the hankies out.

Spudlet · 11/11/2018 07:53

From what little I know of acting, I think you need to cultivate a thick skin and a hard shell to have any degree of success. I'm sure that Megan can be tough, I'm sure that she would have needed to be. But firstly, that doesn't mean that that's her defining feature, and secondly, I wonder if people would be half as 'shocked' if she was a man...?

As for the blind gossip thing about the PA - well, allowing for exaggeration, I'd have been utterly furious if someone who was meant to be taking care of the small stuff let me wander off a plane in front of the international media with the tag hanging off my dress too! Not to mention the knickers on show skirt - I'd be mortified. Especially since media interest is so high at the moment and there have been such nasty stories and all that crap with her family.

I'm not an unthinking Megan fan, but I like to be fair and I think she's being judged harshly, especially in the press.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2018 08:19

Looks like Kate's dress is the same as the one Meghan's former costar Abigail Spencer wore to the wedding in May.

Not a fan of Mathilde's ensemble but then I rarely like what she wears. It's always very mother of the bride. Mathilde herself has barely changed in 20 years but her clothes and hairstyles are very ageing.

Charlene has had a few fashion flops but when she gets it right she looks incredibly chic and carries a trouser suit off really well.

I am staggered by the expectations of the housekeeper in that advert . She is expected to clean the WHOLE HOUSE single handed, as well as shop for food, presumably cook it and oversee deliveries as well, working antisocial hours for £35,000? No wonder the person who took the job left. Ludicrous.

Paradyning · 11/11/2018 08:28

Good spot Queen. Hasn't Alessandra Rich married some Prince or other? Possibly Caroline's stepson from memory.

owlshooting · 11/11/2018 08:30

Re Meghan: The thing that has really stuck out for me which no -one else has mentioned was the cook book promotion. Meghan and her mother swept in together with Harry trailing behind them looking a bit sheepish. M behaved like he wasn't there initially. When they left he was bringing up the rear, with a pasty shoved in his pocket. It was just inappropriate. I know M organised it and it was her thing, but if H had behaved like that with her, how would she have felt? He's a member of the Royal family! She was treating him like an afterthought. I thought it was rude and entitled.
Also in the engagement interview she completely dominated the interview. I found her refreshing and full of enthusiasm, but she didn't seem to understand the protocol.
Something is ringing alarm bells for me too, but I am trying to stay neutral.
It's easy to say any criticism is racist. Maybe it's actually more to do with her personality , not her colour?

Paradyning · 11/11/2018 08:30

I think I'm talking shite. Ignore me.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2018 08:32

Don't think so @Paradyning, I googled and it says her husband is named Stephen. No mention of him being a prince.

Paradyning · 11/11/2018 08:32

I thought Harry looked really relaxed at the book thing. And cheeky when he was robbing the pasties.

Paradyning · 11/11/2018 08:34

Yes I was getting her confused with one of the Hanoverian Wives who's also a designer.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/11/2018 08:37

So did I @Paradyning 🤷🏻‍♀️

WipsGlitter · 11/11/2018 08:42

I also thought Harry looked really proud of her. And pleased she wasn't going to be phased by public engagements and this sort of thing.

As someone pointed out she'd moved away from home so her work colleagues had become her friends.
