Crikey that is some tiara! It is gorgeous, but it really doesn't look like Meghan's style. And it would have jarred with her dress and I can't see how it would work with the veil, which was the wow factor that day.

So yes, story probably bollocks.

I'm looking forward to seeing that tiara seeing the light of day more often at some point though. I can imagine it would be tricky to style though, it's going to grab the limelight!

MrWolfknowsthetime · 10/11/2018 04:33

Everyone in the public eye has their image carefully controlled these days. That isn't really news, or specific to Meghan.

Haven't looked at whatever you are referring to, but how many people have never, ever, had any pic taken that they wouldn't want spread all over t'internet? Not many I guess.

Quantumblue · 10/11/2018 05:15

I think there is a bit of a new narrative from the Sun and the Daily Mail about Meghan. They have run the fairytale for a while, now they are starting to paint a different picture, for whatever reason, like the snarky item about her PA resigning.

itswinetime · 10/11/2018 05:34

user1457017537 I presume you mean the photos in this article Meghan dm.

If so I don't see what is negative about it? If those were the worse people could dig up on me or me laughing Wink. Unless it's about the club which I admit to knowing very little about.

Everyone in the media has a tightly controlled image I'm sure Meghan is no different I doubt we know the true personalities of any of the royals we only know the public persona.

IdaBWells · 10/11/2018 06:15

Well I wonder if the PA resigning at the same time that this story pops up in the press is more than a coincidence?

Paradyning · 10/11/2018 06:48

Thanks @yorkshireyummymummy that's really interesting.

There's definitely stories being planted, or otherwise about MM, either in truth or for the more obvious nefarious reason. CDAN always has blinds about her that are pretty horrendous. Most readers seem to not accept them.

serenmoon · 10/11/2018 06:53

I think there’s probably some basis to the tiara story. I think M might have said she’d like emeralds before she saw the tiaras (she suits this colour) but was told there were only two emerald tiaras, one had already been chosen by E (I think they did postpone their wedding for H and M) and the other wasn’t suitable.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 10/11/2018 07:17

IdaB I agree with everything you've written about William. He had a horrendous childhood with the media and his family, and a role which will be weighing down on him more with every year that passes. I know it's a choice to some extent but the reality is that this role has been instilled in him since birth. I don't blame him a jot for grabbing some normality while he can, and also not being pally with the media. His mother died whilst being hunted by them, essentially.

It's much easier for Harry. The world is his oyster.

I don't believe the snarky Meghan/tiara stories, though I agree it's quite likely she initially made a request for emeralds. They would look great on her though I honestly think the diamond one was the right choice in the end.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 10/11/2018 07:28

Is it any surprise what the media are doing? Build Meghan up & then watch her fall. It’s what they do. Hopefully the public will see through it.

As for William, his role has been instilled in him since birth. He feels it’s his duty. I had that with a family business. It felt that there was no way out. There was eventually (for me) due to ill health but I really wouldn’t recommend that as a route!

Clionba · 10/11/2018 07:32

@Paradyning who is CDAN?

Tobermory · 10/11/2018 07:38

clionba I was just wondering the same

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/11/2018 07:43

CDAN is Crazy Days and Nights, a blind gossip site.

VanillaSugary · 10/11/2018 07:44

It's website called crazy Days And Nights.

I prefer Blind Gossip or Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

Apparently Charles has slung Camilla out of Kensington and she is going to divorce him on his birthday. 🤨

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/11/2018 07:49

As for William, I'm sympathetic but can't feel too sorry for him resigning himself to his "fate". There's many people who'd be happy to trade places with him.

Yeah right, Cos the Palace will completely allow the Sussex kids to travel on the tube from South Kensington down to Heathrow Terminal Four.

Clionba · 10/11/2018 07:54

I don't feel sorry for William, either. There are significant compensations for the role.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/11/2018 08:02

I guess William is comparing himself to his peer group. Well connected, rich (white men -don’t want to get too controversial here).

Harry’s role is great, all of the perks, can follow purely his interests, Invictus, sentebale, the common wealth.

I think (based on the Charles interview); William is hoping for a good 20 years as Prince of Wales, so he can focus on his own interests, which currently appear to be mental health and conservation.

I think Charles has done an incredible amount of good during his tenure as Prince of Wales. Young people (Prince’s Trust); the Environment, architecture. I have no idea who will spearhead all of that once he is Monarch.

The Queen has been a great Monarch, and I don’t mean this disrespectfully, because she is not an intellectual. She is no doubt intelligent, but she is a country woman at heart, so her horses & dogs have easily fitted into her role.

Moononthehill28 · 10/11/2018 08:02

I don’t think all the money or privilege in the world could compensate for effectively having no choice about your career, no privacy and having to live a life which is laid out for you in nearly every detail.

Dumbledora · 10/11/2018 08:04

Talking of royal jewels, I always imagine HMTQ to have boxes and boxes of loose gemstones that have been built up over centuries.
I remember reading that her cullinan diamond brooch (granny's chips) was worth an estimated £50 million, but with the Royal provenance it would be priceless.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/11/2018 08:08

How naive is Meghan thinking her kids are going on the Tube.
Did she not pay attention when she was hustled out of a market in Fiji because there were too many people.
I think the closest the Sussex children will get to public transport will be taking a black cab.

Kate & William thought they were going to raise their children with no nanny. Now they have 2. Will be no different for Harry & Meghan

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/11/2018 08:14

Going back to Tiaras @SenecaFalls and @YorkshireYummyMummy

That Vladimir tiara is really famous, but HM usually wears it with the pearl drops. She wears it loads.

Royal style and gossip: tiaras galore and more!
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/11/2018 08:22

There must be an incredible vault of Jewels somewhere; probably at Windsor. For example Elizabeth I loved her bling. I would love to know where her Jewellry is.
I definitely need to visit the Tower of London and see the Crown Jewels.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 10/11/2018 08:24

I agree Moon

WindyWednesday · 10/11/2018 08:25

Cliomba no! These are not the sort of people who run a garage. They sit on a stately pile in the country.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/11/2018 08:25

How naive is Meghan thinking her kids are going on the Tube.

I don't think she's thinking that, it's just media speculation!
