Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

William and Kate will be at the Tusk Conservation Awards on Thursday night, so hopes are high for a glam gown from her. The last time she attended she wore a gorgeous sparkly Jenny Packham.

And then we'll probably see all the royals on the balcony for Remembrance Sunday.

Yay, a few events to look forward too and almost time for a new thread again!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 05/11/2018 11:42

Like your dress TipseyTorvey!

The DM is repeating something the Sunday Express uttered. A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace declined to comment today. No surprise there.

RainbowsArePretty · 05/11/2018 14:34

The JP dress is one of my favourite Kate looks

Alwayscheerful · 05/11/2018 15:06

yes another, JP, my favourite.

Not sure I'm so keen on the pale blue Packham as it seems a trifle old for Kate. The silver shimmery one I would happily wear! And the blue one she wore in India was just stunning, jewel tones look fantastic on her.

Wow, that jewel blue outfit is stunning! What a gorgeous colour. She actually has a lot of really great evening dresses, although tends not to repeat. (This is the point where someone finds a repeat ☺!)

owlshooting · 05/11/2018 16:21

That dress is fab!!

owlshooting · 05/11/2018 16:23

She is such a beautiful woman.

YearOfYouRemember · 05/11/2018 16:52

Not a great picture but I love this dress.. Iirc Catherine also wore a long mint green evening gown which was gorgeous.

BigGreenOlives · 05/11/2018 17:07

Fantastic earrings worn with the blue dress in India, quite amazing.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 17:10

This gown @YearOfYouRemember? I like this one too. It's a bit sexy, which Kate doesn't usually do.

YearOfYouRemember · 05/11/2018 17:15

Yes, it is that one Queen.. Not mint green at all Blush.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 17:17

Ok, so November looks like a good month for Duchess spotting. In addition to the events I mentioned above there is also a Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall on Saturday (which both Kate and Meghan are attending), 2 Remembrance Sunday events, Prince Charles' 70th birthday (we may or may not see photos) and the Royal Variety performance! H&M are confirmed for the last one, not sure about W&K.

Spudlet · 05/11/2018 17:20

She has worn some beautiful evening dresses. (And some howlers, but I think the balance is definitely towards success!)

In my opinion, which will doubtless carry huge weight Grin she looks best in quite strong colours, like the blue dress in India and that lovely teal (turquoise?) JP dress that Queen has linked to. The paler colours, like the blue number from the state banquet with Max, seem to wash her out a bit.

Clionba · 05/11/2018 17:21

The pale blue is nice - and once again, stylish sandals! Someone said Kate never wears open toed shoes, but she does, to great effect, with evening wear. She also has a gorgeous silver Manolo pair!

PawneeParksDept · 05/11/2018 18:01

@IdaBWells

It took some doing But I found a reference to it here I have definitely seen a point made about Louise's first year "down" somewhere

"Children eat separately in the nursery at 12.30"

They are only "allowed down" when considered mature enough to be able to have good table manners and pleasant polite conversation hence Louise only being allowed down at 12, I think 12 is the general rule

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5186803/What-Royals-REALLY-Sandringham-Christmas.html

PawneeParksDept · 05/11/2018 18:07

There have been copious articles about this in the past along with the suggestion it's the reason the Cambridge's prefer her parents at Christmas because if they go to the Queen the schedule means they don't see their kids.

I'm surprised people weren't aware of it/doubt it

The fact that only the men get a cooked breakfast is another corker!

owlshooting · 05/11/2018 18:18

Xmas at the Palace sounds like an absolute endurance test, and miserable for the children. These sort of rules died out for everyone else about a hundred years ago.

Paradyning · 05/11/2018 18:39

I hated that blue appliquéd number. The colour was dreadful in her. Really draining and her shoes didn't match. I think they were gold toned iirc.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 05/11/2018 18:51

Thanks Pawnee found that interesting.

Would never have guessed that Andrew is teetotal!

I could never be invited- I have zero control when it comes to food & alcohol Blush

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 18:56

I stand by what I said earlier in that case - how boring for poor James to have to eat with the pre-schoolers and toddlers!

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/11/2018 18:57

The Sandringham Christmas sounds awful.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/11/2018 18:57

I wonder whether they have to stop eating when the Queen does.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 19:02

I'm bloody starving after reading that article!
