Here we go again!

Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

Wow this was my first time seeing Princess Anne on Parky discussing her kidnap attempt. She's fabulous!

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/11/2018 21:20

And bless Anne, her hairdo hasn't changed since that interview and that dress is probably still in her wardrobe and worn regularly!

Will and Kate were at Sandringham last year, they are probably going to Bucklebury this year, so it makes sense. Kate has 2 parents and 2 siblings, inviting a woman who would otherwise spend Christmas without family is very different.

William is said to prefer the Middletons at Christmas, Sandringham very timetabled and formal and children very much seen not heard. Lady Louise was only allowed down from the nursery to dinner about 2 years ago.

bruffin · 04/11/2018 21:27

Ive met Anne 3 times through work, she is really petite. She has looked a bit dowdy in a purple outfit. but she has also looked really good in a coral suit which had a long time. Also a green and turquoise Asian style outfit really suited her

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/11/2018 21:30

Really @bruffin? I always thought Anne would be tall, but maybe it's just the hair!

OP posts:
bruffin · 04/11/2018 21:35

Im 5'2 and she was no taller than me.

Laiste · 04/11/2018 21:46

Her official height is 5' 5''. Not amazingly tall. (same as me)

I thought she would be tall too.

IdaBWells · 04/11/2018 21:47

Queen Victoria was 5’!

IdaBWells · 04/11/2018 21:49

In terms of personality Anne seems most like Philip and Charles is like the Queens’s father, more of a quiet introvert.

Moononthehill28 · 04/11/2018 21:49

I can’t inagine the Middletons would for one moment prefer Christmas with the RF to one at home . They may we’ll have been invited and politely declined.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 04/11/2018 21:50

Is it just me who would be dreading Christmas if invited by the royals?!

You just couldn't relax and would probably have a feeling you were in a weird dream for the entire time.

Spudlet · 04/11/2018 21:50

Well that sounds like a thoroughly crappy Christmas. I couldn't blame anyone for preferring an alternative! I'd be really sad to have Christmas dinner without ds being present.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/11/2018 21:52

@IdaBWells I've always had the feeling Anne is her father's favourite. Apparently Andrew is the Queen's, Charles was the QM's and poor Edward was just an afterthought!

The Queen doesn't need to invite the Middletons. They stay with Wills and Kate, go to church en famille and then have their own lunch at Anmer.

CoachBombay · 04/11/2018 22:17

Not that I'm ever likely to be invited, but I'd definitely prefer the Christa s chaos that is the Middleton's over Royal Family Lunch.

George zooming around the room making helicopter noises with Will flying the helicopter drone. Kate bouncing Louie and Charlotte nattering to Carol about her favourite things. Meanwhile Michael is despratley attempting to watch the TV over the noise, whilst Pippa and James keep asking everyone to be quiet whilst precious first born is asleep upstairs. 😂

SenecaFalls · 04/11/2018 22:43

I wonder if Meghan will introduce Harry and any of the others to Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday.

bruffin · 04/11/2018 22:46

She is definitely not 5,'5

AhoyDelBoy · 04/11/2018 22:48

On a fashion note I just fell down the rabbit hole that is instagram and somehow ended up looking at Zimmerman dresses on the website Blush
Oh my word they have so so many beautiful (expensive!) dresses! Sigh.
I’m thinking I could channel the DoS in this number..

AhoyDelBoy · 04/11/2018 22:49

I wish the DoS would have worn something by Zimmerman on tour (someone please correct me if she did).

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/11/2018 22:59

I think there was a Zimmerman at one point?

I was just browsing Instagram and found this neat little info graphic detailing royal wedding dresses from queen Victoria to princess Eugenie.

I assume Pippa's son has a name by now but it's not been released, has it?

No new photos of Louis either, which seems a bit unusual as W&K released photos of George and Charlotte when they were around 6 months.

OP posts:
LimpyLampy · 04/11/2018 23:09

I read Pippa called her child Michael (after her father and James's older brother who died). Not verified though.

VanillaSugary · 04/11/2018 23:27

That Zimmerman dress is lovely!

Member · 05/11/2018 00:04

It was a white Zimmerman dress she was wearing when she landed in Fiji (she also had a hat)

IdaBWells · 05/11/2018 00:20

SenecaFalls I was thinking exactly the same thing re: Meghan and Thanksgiving. I am sure she will introduce it as she loves to cook and now she is living in the UK I’m sure she will miss some of the American holidays more than ever. It also a fun holiday as it not about gifts but just feasting and being with family and friends. I can imagine in years to come an invite to the Sussex’s for Thanksgiving will be coverted!
