Here we go again!

And by popular demand, here are the previous threads:
Thread 1
Thread 2
Thread 3
Thread 4
Thread 5
Thread 6
Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

If Louis is anything like any other third babies I know, there are probably no photos of him at all.

It also a fun holiday as it not about gifts but just feasting and being with family and friends.

That's the main reason I like it so much, Ida. I hope Meghan does have it. My sister and I have both been expats (in different countries) and hosting a big Thanksgiving dinner in that setting can be a lot of fun.

AhoyDelBoy · 05/11/2018 00:32

Yes it is Vanilla and perfect for the climate I live in. I’m seriously considering it. There are so many other beautiful dresses by Zimmerman though, it would be impossible to choose just one. Knowing my luck my absolute favourite will be the most expensive so I’ll be priced out anyway. I might go to Zimmerman today 🙌🏻

IdaBWells · 05/11/2018 02:38

SenecaFalls DH is American and I do love the American habit of sweeping up the waifs and strays wherever they are in the world to celebrate Thanksgiving. We’ve been invited a number of times when people hardly knew us, great excuse for true hospitality.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 05/11/2018 06:44

Love that Zimmerman dress, also love pink and red together.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/11/2018 06:53

Thanksgiving sounds great. I’ve never been to a thanksgiving dinner but it seems like a lot of Americans make the effort to get home for it.
Can anyone American on the thread give some background?
I know it’s something to do with the Pilgrim Fathers ; 3rd Thursday in November. That’s about it.

It would be great if Meghan could introduce some bona fide American traditions to the UK. Prince Albert brought a lot of German traditions to the UK, especially Christmas.

AhoyDelBoy · 05/11/2018 06:54

I hope we get some pictures of Louis Queen! I hope Pippa and James didn’t name their baby Micheal Shock but I suppose if it’s a family name on both sides they may have. With MN’s Royal fashion watchers behind me I want the Zimmerman even more Grin

AhoyDelBoy · 05/11/2018 06:55

I didn’t go to Zimmerman today but should some time this week. I doubt they have the full range in store because there are a lot of dresses online!

TipseyTorvey · 05/11/2018 06:56

Am channeling Meghan today as am off to London for a conference, by wearing a forest green dress and hair in a bun (its only a hush dress though, not beautiful zimmerman). Do we have a secret signal for people on this thread yet, like the royal wave the Queen does 😁.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/11/2018 07:02

I don’t think we will see Louis till the official Christmas photo.
With all the weddings and lots of coverage of Charlotte & George this year, I suspect apart from their birthdays, the Cambridges will dial down coverage of their children.

Next year will be all about baby Sussex. Lindo wing appearance, christening.

Awful about Lady Louise not being allowed down for Christmas lunch till a couple of years ago.
Apparently at the Middletons; Michael makes an appearance in a sumo suit. I know where I would rather be. Carole Middleton has made millions at her party planning business. Christmas at her’s must be awesome.
I bet they all do a normal Christmas morning at Anmer. Will & Kate do the dutiful Royal Xmas lunch at Sandringham and the kids have fun with their grandparents at Anmer.

Royal versus Middleton Christmas 2016

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/11/2018 07:10

Doria’s Christmas invitation to Sandringham

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 07:24

Which Hush dress is it @TipseyTorvey? They have a few in Meghan green this season, I have my eye on the Tara and the Yasmin.

TipseyTorvey · 05/11/2018 08:16

Queen its the hush tara dress. I think I'm a bit too large of nork for it to be honest so covering it up a bit with a scarf but it's so comfy, plus is magic forest green so it has to be done! Might buy the dark red at some point....

owlshooting · 05/11/2018 08:21

I love Doria, but I think she could do with some lessons in how to get out of a car !

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 05/11/2018 08:25

So sick of the competition the media is engineering between the families. Can't they just report on Doria's invitation rather than making it a snub to the Middletons? 🤦🏻‍♀️ They're doing a kind thing to an individual, not a fuck you to someone else.

owlshooting · 05/11/2018 08:30

Totally agree It's Nice. But this is what the media is all about, spite, nastiness and causing divisions between people. They are like bottom feeders in a cess pit. Having said that, we are still reading the rubbish. Just have to bear in mind that much of it is made up, twisted or incomplete.

Quantumblue · 05/11/2018 08:47

Not convinced it would be completely relaxing for Doria having Christmas with the Queen. I gather there are all sorts of rituals and clothes changes many times a day.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 08:50

@TipseyTorvey I'm waiting for the next discount code before I buy it. I have the summer version.

@CurlyWurlyTwirly That's a nice story about Doria if it's true but I'm always suspicious when the DM quotes "a source" as it often means "completely made up"!

I remember reading about visits to royal and ducal country houses in Edwardian times and they sounded dreadful! A lot of the houses were draughty and inadequately heated, the food was terrible, you had to wake at the crack of dawn to go shooting or to church, and several changes of clothes were required each day.

Apparently there were all sorts of other shenanigans too, and at some homes the dressing bell would be rung an hour early to give people time to get back into their own beds!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 09:00

Actually, Louise not being allowed down is very Victorian/Edwardian. But what does that mean for poor James Severn now? Does he have to eat alone in his nursery while everyone else feasts in the dining room? I guess there's the Phillips girls to keep him company but they're a fair bit younger. Hopefully some of the Windsor cousins with boys his age descend on Boxing Day!

IdaBWells · 05/11/2018 09:56

I think the Louise thing sounds like BS, can anyone link to a credible source?

user1457017537 · 05/11/2018 10:16

I’m another one who doesn’t believe Lady Louise’s parents would leave her up in the nursery on Christmas Day.

Butterymuffin · 05/11/2018 10:49

Even in the Mail comments section, many people pointing out there's a difference between inviting one person who would otherwise be on their own, vs. inviting an entire family who live in this country anyway and have their other children and grandchildren around. I'm just pleased they've had the common sense to invite Doria - it's what any normal, kind, decent family would do, but the Royals don't always seem to think they have to go by those standards.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/11/2018 10:55

I think we all know that when the Mail doesn't know the facts they just make up any old shite!
