Here we go again!

And by popular demand, here are the previous threads:

Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

Maxima talking about the Stuart tiara and also showing the version without the massive diamond headpiece

mmmgoats · 29/10/2018 21:37

Yay new thread. I am totally addicted to this thread and have just got Ma'am Darling to read because of it.

A PP mentioned being sad when the tour ends - me too! If there isn't much present day outfit action to peruse and lust after, we'll have to go back digging in the archives to keep the thread alive :D

It’s amazing what we do find to talk about
We usually switch to talking about European Royals.
It’s Rememberance Sunday in a couple of weeks so the main Royals will be out in force.

AhoyDelBoy · 29/10/2018 21:46

H&M don’t seem to be out and about for the day yet, 10:45am in NZ.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/10/2018 21:49

Some iconic Kate looks with lots of jewellry & accessory details.

kooshbin · 29/10/2018 21:49

Queen - I have read that the genuine aristos don't think much of the RF, as in, they're not really aristocratic and not very intellectual. I seem to recall that Diana was more "blue-blooded" than Charles.

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2018 21:53

@CurlyWurlyTwirly I don't think I like any of those iconic outfits except the cream Reiss dress. Kate has had loads of good style moments, but I'm just not sure any of them are in that particular article!

Thanks for that @curlywurlytwirly I love this pic of William looking at Kate from the engagement announcement. Although I never liked how shiny her dress was - liked the style though.

Ooh yes of course they'll be out to mark Remembrance. I do love the European Royals too but have a particular soft spot for Kate - and I've warmed a lot to Meghan.

This article on her best Jenny Packhams is more like it!

Looks like Kate passes on her high street clothes straight to her mum & sister. I like it; they are all so close

The six degrees of separation thing... I was due to go to a small lunch with Princess Margaret as the guest just before I got married. We had to cancel as my OH was really ill. His employer was a good friend of hers and he was invited, with me as his guest.

CoachBombay · 29/10/2018 21:59

Curly yay more Kate 😁 haha

Ohh I don't know Queen I do like the blue Canada 2016 outfit. But then a I ever really wear is blue or navy lol

owlshooting · 29/10/2018 22:00

I was also at the Queen's Garden Party at Holyrood years ago as my father worked for one of his charities. PC also opened something two doors down from where I worked. I saw him up very close as it was a quiet residential street. That was pre Diana. He was better looking than I expected.

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2018 22:01

The blue outfit was ok, it was the inclusion of the Sloaney mini and boots that I was a bit 🤔 at!

My parents met Charles years ago at an official reception in a country in which we were expats. There were a lot of expats in the room and Charles asked if they all worked for the UN. My parents were most amused that he thought the only place that would hire lots of people of different ethnicities to work together was the UN!

Just fell down a Jenny Packham rabbit hole there @queenoftheandals
I love so many of them but think these are my faves - particularly the deep turquoise/teal one as the back of my wedding dress was very similar Grin

My husband, through his work, has met a few aristocrats. No insistence on titles - everyone on first-name terms. One in particular, who is a Baronet, has happily supped supermarket coffee at our kitchen table several times. (We're not posh!)

owlshooting · 29/10/2018 22:05

Does anyone think MM having her hands in her pockets in that white dress is a bit off?

mmmgoats · 29/10/2018 22:05

Oh it didn't add my images. Boo. Second time lucky.

Okay it only posted one I give up!

mmmgoats · 29/10/2018 22:06

Er sorry to clog up the thread there - the images suddenly appeared. Will toddle off now to look at more pretty frocks and stay out of picture posting trouble.

@owlshooting yes I have to admit I thought that was odd - and assumed it would be against etiquette...

owlshooting · 29/10/2018 22:09

That green dress is just gorgeous. I love Kate - she is the epitome of style and elegance in my opinion. I am generally really not keen on MM's style.

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2018 22:10

Who would've thought Kate and Angelina would have the same dress in their wardrobe??

These threads have been my guilty pleasure instead of getting stuff done for a while.
Some of those tiaras - oh wow. I hadn't realised how different a tiara would look on two different women.

Loved the Princess Margaret fashion. And that 70s kaftan - very Margot Ledbetter via Jackie Collins. I wish glamorous kaftans would make a comeback, they're very forgiving.

This tour has been a big ask for MM. Her 1st tour/early pregnancy/new marriage/new to RF/changing temperatures and climates.
As clothes go she's had about a year to change her style, adhering to RF protocols and now her shape is changing too.
Unsurprising then that some of her clothes choices haven't quite hit the mark.
OTOH some dresses in particular have been gorgeous and she really is glowing now.

Unlike Kate who sticks to similar styles I think we've seen quite a variety on MM this tour. Again, I suppose we're watching her finding what works for her within her new constraints.

Thank you for the new thread.
