Here we go again!

Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

The deep green is a great colour to wear when you are tired. I have a couple of dresses and coats in what DH calls Irish Emerald Green.

I'm really surprised DofS hasn't worn st John. It's so flattering and forgiving. I wear it all the time for work. I used to think it looked old but it actually is timeless.

Want2bSupermum · 02/11/2018 16:37

Budget wise I would expect the total cost to be more than £130k, more like £300k because so much of it is custom. Things off the peg aren't and the cost is so much more.

PinguDance · 02/11/2018 16:44

How do you think the royals store their clothes? I imagine Kate has an app like Cher in clueless to keep track of what she’s got - or someone on the staff does anyway. Or is it just a massive wardrobe in Kensington palace? As upthread ppl were discussing Kate’s weight I can imagine a real incentive for her to stay the same size is to wear her clothes again. If Meghan keeps all her suggest from this tour too then it starts to seem better value

DontCallMeCharlotte · 02/11/2018 17:32

Hmm. Paid for by us the Foreign Office you say? Hmm

So David Cameron has crawled out of his hole and fancies a shot at "Foreign Secretary". I reckon he actually wants to be Meghan's new stylist.

Just me then.

Happy Birthday Queen!

I don’t really mind about the cost as it has given a great deal of pleasure to many people.

VanillaSugary · 02/11/2018 17:57

Well, Sam Cam is now a fashion designer so he will want to recommend his wife's clothes, surely? Cefinn, if anyone's interested (or something like that).

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/11/2018 18:14

Cefinn is actually quite Marklesque but I doubt we'll ever see Meghan in it!

Ceefin would be right up her street!

Tres Marklesque!

Gosh, isn't it just! I wasn't so far off the markle then.

owlshooting · 02/11/2018 18:35

Happy Birthday, Queen!

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/11/2018 18:37

I actually love that green sleeveless dress but can't bring myself to contribute to the financial wellbeing of the Camerons!

Me too Queen.

There was a Bavarian 'royal' wedding recently with the outfits featured on one of my favourite royal fashion blogs:

royalhats.net

There are some lovely outfits - the mothers of bride and groom both look super, but some, well not so much.

That blog can get quite technical about different sorts of hats, which is interesting in itself. And gosh the hats of the poor Japanese royals are generally dull dull dull.

Want2bSupermum · 02/11/2018 19:02

One of my fav designers right now for workwear is MM Lafleur. It's based here in NYC but the clothes are great and easy to wear while looking smart.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/11/2018 19:09

@SeaRabbit The MOTG's hat makes Maxima's look minimal!

Some questionable outfits from some of the guests, I agree. Pastel pink dress with sheer black tights and black Mary Janes??

Oooh Searoyal, the latest post on that blog is a retrospective of HMs hats. There is some headgear there that would give Max a run doe her money - excellent link! [hat]

Clionba · 02/11/2018 19:39

@QueenOfTheAndals - GrinGrin my thoughts exactly! I really like those dresses, but will not give money to the Camerons! (sorry, a bit political!)

Paradyning · 02/11/2018 20:12

That must have been a difficult engagement for Max. Bless her.

Paradyning · 02/11/2018 20:42

That is a stunning Bavarian wedding dress. Her grandmother's they are saying!

FATEdestiny · 02/11/2018 21:12

I've just read that rainbow wardrobe article from the Daily Mail whilst at my in laws.

The majority of the £130K they quote is from the cost of jewellery. Aside from the £10k ballgown, every other item over £2k was jewellery.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/11/2018 21:25

Oh god, you're right @Paradyning. Poor Maxima, what a trooper she is. I think I love her even more now.

In Spain it was Queen Sofia's 80th. Although I like Letizia's grey dress, it's a little girlish and might've been better suited to one of her daughters!

Felipe's dodgy BiL has been tactfully excluded from the photo shoot. And speaking of dodgy, King JC is looking very old and frail isn't he?

OP posts:
Paradyning · 02/11/2018 21:32

Wow is she 80!!! She must have a very good surgeon!!

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/11/2018 21:36

Has she had much work done? I'm not sure.
