Here we go again!

And by popular demand, here are the previous threads:
Thread 1
Thread 2
Thread 3
Thread 4
Thread 5
Thread 6
Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

Don't think he'd be capable of making the sleezeball's type of money though.

serenmoon · 30/10/2018 15:32

I don’t think any of them would do any jobs of particular note seeing as none of them are particularly academically bright and don’t have standout charisma either.

I like Kate’s jacket but I agree the jeans are just a bit too tight. I think she spends an awful lot of time working out to maintain that figure and also must be strict in what she eats. Even with good genes it must take some effort to be so slim and toned looking so soon after having a third child. She does use the pool at BP, I read it in the daily mail so must be true Smile

Haworthia · 30/10/2018 15:40

Blimey, the Cambridges were in Basildon today? That’s only a few miles down the road from me.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 15:49

Kate is such a literal dresser I'm surprised she didn't have the white stilettos on today! 😆

How dare you, Queen Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 16:00

Not sure I've seen Kate in a Canadian brand before. Maybe she and Meghan are swapping fashion tips!

Oh dear! Kate looks like she is wearing tights. I wonder if there is a bit of a competitive thing going on between her and M? Embracing the children too . Poor William looks awful. What has happened to him?

owlshooting · 30/10/2018 16:16

I think the Queen needs to sit both Meghan and Kate down and have a little talk. Hands in pockets, skin tight jeans, when to wear a hat, when not to wear a coat when giving out prizes... etc.

owlshooting · 30/10/2018 16:19

And Charles... 'really dear, no more tell all books or your Kingship will be short lived...'

itswinetime · 30/10/2018 16:22

Poor William looks awful. What has happened to him?

My guess 3 children and his dad taking pot shots at him!

Of course he could just he trying to steal Harry's thunder again Wink

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 16:25

I think Kate and Meghan are both too sensible and intelligent to get competitive with each other. They know their strengths and work to them.

As for William, he looks more like his father with the passing of each year. Which is really weird as he was the spit of Diana in his twenties!

Kate has worn Smythe before, especially a navy blazer when her and William took George to an air show and at Glasgow commonwealth games. Am pretty sure she wore Canadian on their tour there too.

I really hope people don’t buy into this press narrative of competition between MM and Kate. Look at pictures from the Kate’s first engagement back after her most recent maternity leave; she was hugged by a child then before the Sussexes commenced their tour.

itswinetime · 30/10/2018 16:35

Diana for all of her faults as expressed on the threads broke the stero type of not hugging people/children I think and the younger royals William, Harry, Kate and now Meghan have kept it up! Embracing children isn't a Sussex or a Cambridge thing it's just a more modern way of doing thing!

GrumbleBumble · 30/10/2018 16:57

checks over shoulder to ensure she's not about to be dragged off to the tower for treason right I think it's safe to say this I think there will be a bit of a relaxation of the "rules" when Charles becomes king. I can't see him being opposed to women in trousers or quite so fussy about hem lengths or bare shoulders as his mother.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 30/10/2018 17:07

I really don't think wearing a jacket by a Canadian designer means two women are in competition with each other 🙄. I'd hope they'd both feel comfortable in their different roles and able to choose clothes without people thinking they're starting a thread war.

Personally don't see a problem with Kate's outfit today, but then again it's a look I like.

eddiemairswife · 30/10/2018 17:07

Whenever Edward is mentioned I remember his petulant behaviour during the press conference after It's a Royal Knockout. He used to be a patron of The Royal School, Wolverhampton, but I don't think he's visited since it became a free school.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 30/10/2018 17:22

I would really love it if this thread didn't buy into the competition trope between the two duchesses. its not as if you can't get it literally everywhere else on the web

I think tight jeans photograph really badly and they're probably not as bad in RL.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 17:25

@GrumbleBumble We don't even know if the Queen makes up those rules, or if it's the courtiers, or if it's just an invention of the press!

She wore her fair share of strapless and sleeveless dresses when she was young, and wore trousers on occasion too. I've even seen photos of her not in minis but definitely in skirts that hit above the knee.

I find it hard to believe that she's too bothered about that sort of thing - she's seen it all!

OP posts:
frugalkitty · 30/10/2018 17:27

The only real time I could see the two duchesses competing is over the diamonds they get to borrow from her Maj! I think they have their own style anyway although the press are bound to make the comparisons and talk about rivalry just as they did with Diana and Fergie. I liked Kate's look today, wish I had legs like hers......

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 17:31

It's ok though @frugalkitty, it's not like HM hasn't got enough to go around!

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 30/10/2018 17:35

It’d be a total waste of effort competing, wouldn’t it? I think both couples are fairly confident in their skins and in their roles. It’s only the Fail that will enjoy trying to shit stir.

VanillaSugary · 30/10/2018 18:04

Has anyone got a photo of William today?

Spudlet · 30/10/2018 18:08

Yes, has he debuted a new haircut? Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 30/10/2018 18:08

To the unsung royal heroine; The Princess Anne, Princess Royal.

She does all the non glam jobs but she just mucks in and gets on with it. She is Fantastic.
