Laska yup sometimes it may be the best for sanity’s sake F* the diet & indulge in some wine, glad you feeling better able to cope 🍷

dontcallmelen · 02/11/2018 19:36

Yy lovely pics of fab outfits today, Never happy birthday weekend🎂
H&M have definitely improved this year on knitwear, I got a couple of nice jumpers from Momsoon.

Laska5772 · 02/11/2018 19:38

Len thanks.. You are always so supportive and kind Flowers. I reckon we would get on really well IRL (actually I feel that about everyone on here - Ok, its Friday its been a bit of a 'day' and I may have had some Wine already.

#soppylaska Smile

dontcallmelen · 02/11/2018 19:42

#SoppyLaska aww rightback attcha, yes I think we could be friends as with many on here cheers🥂

Huffthepuff · 02/11/2018 20:02

Thanks Laska. And @NotAnActualSheep For your comments about the house. I'd like to be in the Cotswolds so I could fulfill my fantasy of living in a Jilly Cooper novel. I'm actually in Sussex and the house was built in the 16th century. Lots of beams but very small! We love it though. It's very cosy this eve with the fire going and a glass of wine.

Great coat @Ella I really love that colour but it doesn't love me. Good to enjoy different colours and styles through all of you.

Going to a bonfire party tomorrow afternoon so I might wear the H&M jumper. My only niggle is that it is so bulky I won't be able to wear a biker jacket over the top as per my Pinterest style obsession. Supposed to be dry and 12 degrees though so I may get away with just putting a thin layer or two underneath... maybe?

Wondering @neveradullmoment99 if your boots will develop to a more red tone over time? Once they've worn in and got a little scuffed. Or is that a ridiculous notion?

NotAnActualSheep · 02/11/2018 20:03

Oh huff - that jumper is sooo similar to the Meryl and looks amazing on you. Almost the same colour too. I'm really considering sending mine back now and getting one of the dupes. At least the pink one is a bit different (though still mean to look at that peacocks pink jumper), but there seems to be loads of almost-identical versions in the grey. The neck is a bit different, but for A THIRD of the cost (or less) I could live with it...! It's ridiculous how much hush charges Hmm

Glad your day was OK Laska and that your mum is a bit brighter. And it sounds like your DH is being really supportive too, which must be a huge help. Definitely deserve Wine though.

Never - I love those boots. The ones on the DM website look really dark/ black too apart from the toes. It says they "tarnish" to a lighter red, though so they should brighten with wear. They look super versatile though.

Ellapaella · 02/11/2018 20:14

@Huffthepuff your cottage sounds so cosy... love the jumper btw, looks great. Your boots are really nice too.

@Not you could always order a dupe and do a comparison before you make any decisions re. the Meryl. It's a gorgeous jumper that I really would have bought if I hadn't spent my entire household budget on those Daniel boots. So I had to go without or get a dupe IYSWIM. It looks great on you and probably will wash better

neveradullmoment99 · 02/11/2018 20:19

It says they "tarnish" to a lighter red, though so they should brighten with wear.

Ooooh sounds fab. I like the idea of them tarnishing with wear. Great to know. Thanks for finding that out for me :)

dontcallmelen · 02/11/2018 20:20

Not the pink peacocks jumper, is obviously nowhere near quality/feel of the hush one, but the colour & style is a pretty good dupe for a bargain price.

Ellapaella · 02/11/2018 20:32

I've just ordered this pink Meryl dupe from Topshop. Fingers crossed it actually turns up as I've not had good experiences with TopShop online in the past.

😍 gorgeous Ella!

NotAnActualSheep · 02/11/2018 21:01

Ella - see, that is exactly what I mean!!! That's the basically the same as well... I think I'm going to take a day next week after my work deadline and actually go to some shops and do a comparison of Meryl-a-likes. I've become somewhat obsessed with this Confused.

Haven't been in topshop for years. I was never trendy enough, even when I was in their target age. Eeek.

I'm happy to pay more for something that is good quality and will carry on looking good with washing and so on. I find hush stuff a bit hit and miss for that though. Not found their jumpers too bad generally, but I haven't had anything very wooly from them. And still, a £100 jumper would have to be a b*gger of a lot more durable than a £30-something jumper to be worth the name alone!

SoyYo · 02/11/2018 21:21

Just waiting for DS2 to arrive from Brighton (DH has gone to station to pick him up) so it’ll be a full house tonight with both DC at home. Every time I have my cubs back home I feel all is well with the world (will never stop worrying about them Smile)
Vegan chilli cooking as both DC have given up on all animal products for years now.
Really great coats ella! The red one looks exactly the same red shade as the Hush and very luxurious, you are honouring this thread’s title!

laska I’m pouring myself a Wine and toast you virtually, glad today was less traumatic than previous visits

never in case I don’t post over the weekend Happy Birthday! Feliz Cumpleaños! Have lots and lots of fun and hope you are spoilt rotten

not I may pop into RL shops too soon, a bit fed up with the constant P.O. returns but none of my RL gf like shopping i know how is that even possible? and all my close family is Male! What’s a girl to do but go it alone?Wink

mimosaic · 02/11/2018 22:18

Hello, I'm new! Just on to ask if anyone knows of a % off Hush code I can use? I know there's that £20 off refer a friend discount, but that applies to purchases above £100 only and the dungarees I want are 95... boohoo. Thank you!

Laska5772 · 03/11/2018 08:06

Hi mimosaic I have pm'd you my £10 off £40 code if you still want one.

Careful Hush can get addictive!! Grin

Laska5772 · 03/11/2018 08:13

Ella I like to look of the Top Shop dupe .Am also tempted .. My Meryl comes today..
soy luckily my Dh quite likes shopping but I still think we all need a day out in That London or somewhere similar ..!
never those DM's are gorgeous.. I think the cherry read will brighten up ..

Huff I can really imagine your house.. I used to live in Sussex (Shoreham/ Steyning way) and know the sort of villages with cottages like yours sounds to be well.. Enjoy the fireworks I think it should be a clear night here ..we may pop out also his evening to our local one

Laska5772 · 03/11/2018 08:14

Theres a Pink Meryl In S on the site right now if anyone up early !! Wink

Laska5772 · 03/11/2018 08:20

..and its now gone!

NotAnActualSheep · 03/11/2018 08:35

Oh balls. Missed it. DS and his early swimming have a lot to answer for...

Laska5772 · 03/11/2018 08:39

yup they do seem to be putting things up earlier these days . i was seeing if hey had an XS return in either colour by any chance.. ( but they havent for days now, so I think possibly they wont have any more )

NotAnActualSheep · 03/11/2018 08:45

I have the same issue as Soy. Surrounded by men who think shopping is an inconvenience, and gfs who aren't bothered, or who have similarly minded DDs or DSis or DMs who they go with routinely. I'm fine pottering by myself, but miss the odd social shop and boozy lunch with wine-inspired purchases afterwards

Ellapaella · 03/11/2018 09:00

@Laska5772 Please post pics of your Meryl when it arrives... the Topshop one looks good, I'll let you know what it's like if/when it arrives. I've had some bad experiences with them in the past taking ages to arrive or never turning up or 'getting lost' and their CS shocking. It's the colour I love, I have so many grey jumpers already I thought pink would be a nice splash of colour.
