@DontCallMeCharlotte I think it's Mabel to whom there was some sort of scandal attached - her ex was a drug lord I think. Anyway, Prince Friso had to give up his place in the succession when he married her. Very sad that he died so young though, and with such young daughters too.

@LimpyLampy The colour is wonderful on her and it looks lovely from the side. I think it's just the way it's been photographed in the first shot that makes it look a bit bedsheetish. I do like a caped gown!

Its nice to see her in colour but I don’t think that shade of blue suits her. That’s quite a noticeable bump she’s got now.

I’m sure Kate is more than 5ft7in, isn’t she? At least she always looks much taller than that to me.

Kate is about 5'10 I think, so will be well over 6ft in heels. I assumed Meghan was smaller than 5'6 as even in high heels she's only over Harry's shoulder.

I always thought Letizia was tiny but turns out she's 5'7 - it's just that Felipe is 6'6!

I love that dress. Looks like the sort of thing Jackie Kennedy would wear in the 60s. But with elbow length white gloves and a piece of statement jewelry.
I actually think that is what I dislike the most about Meghan's style. It's the unadornment. Even harry wears more accessories than Meg.

I'm not expecting her to go the full Queen Mary, but some statement pieces from the Royal Collection would show that she is mindful of her position and I think it is respectful towards her hosts. (Ie she has made an effort to be more Duchess like)

This interview from 2016 really shows her personality I think. She comes across as intelligent and thoughtful. It’s so amazing to think what has happened to her life since then.

I don't think we're ever going to see her dripping in diamonds as she's such a minimalist but those earrings look quite spectacular and frame her face really well. And her face is her best accessory!

I agree. She doesn’t need many accessories. She is incredibly beautiful. I hope she will have a daughter as I imagine a beautiful girl with curly hair.

i think they both look totally shattered . M has a look of stunned 'rabbit in the headlights' exhaustion on her face in the white dress. Why on earth didn't they break it up a bit so there were some days of rest for both of them? The itinerary is ridiculous.

Yes, agree with this. Not being with Harry long and all. I think she’s in a much trickier position than Kate was in some ways. They’re older obviously so things have moved at lightning speed and she hasn’t had a lot of time to adjust I don’t think. Not being from the UK must make things harder with the cultural differences and that’s before any talk of marrying into the RF.

Queen Your Max slideshow reference to Mabel's ex and their respective wiki pages was quite funny (although I had known before that she was not perfect royal bride material, but then how many of us are? ). But yes, a very sad affair re Friso.

And Meghan appears to be another one who needs to sort the ends of her hair out when it's loose. Just give it quick curl for goodness sake.
