Harry & Meghan have arrived in Sydney.
The purple folders coordinating with her coat will not slow down speculation...

That's a great speech. Should be "Meghan and me" though.

First of all, thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days.

SenecaFalls · 20/10/2018 19:31

First of all, thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days.

Yes, I noticed that too. I've heard William do the same thing.

Paradyning · 20/10/2018 20:48

I think the pointy flats would have looked better with her casual Invictus outfit earlier today, with the white jacket. Rather than the gorgeous heeled sling backs.

Clionba · 20/10/2018 21:07

She either wears really high heels or very flat flats. Maybe a low heel would look nice occasionally?

frugalkitty · 20/10/2018 21:23

I really liked the white jacket she had on earlier. She looks really striking in black, but I'm still hoping for some colour!

Pupsiecola · 20/10/2018 22:17

Yes, I noticed that too. I've heard William do the same thing.

It's not really acceptable is it?!

SilentIsla · 20/10/2018 22:22

Meghan looks lovely and is getting so cheerfully involved in everything although she must be pretty tired. I know she has breaks but still...

I think this is the first time I have ever seen PH’s lovely genuine smile. He looks different!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/10/2018 22:27

Er... Meghan and I is correct English. Not Meghan and me....

OP posts:
MonteCarla · 20/10/2018 22:30

Actually, in this instance it is Meghan and me.

Thank you for the welcome you have given me.
Thank you for the welcome you have given I.

MonteCarla · 20/10/2018 22:32

However, it would be Meghan and I if it were something like, “Meghan and I have had a brilliant welcome.”

I have had a brilliant welcome.
Me have had a brilliant welcome.

Take out the other person in the sentence and you can work out which one it should be Smile

Clionba · 20/10/2018 22:32

It's definitely "Meghan and me".
You'd think Eton would teach them better.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/10/2018 22:36

Thanks for the explanation Montecarla; I had no idea Smile

I’m with Meghan on the shoe thing either sky high or flat, really hate a mid heel, go hard or go home! Though she has worn a mid heel on the odd occasion.....

Those boots are nice! A bit more stylish.

SilentIsla · 20/10/2018 23:25

Meghan and me is correct in the sentence,
“Thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and me.”

Pupsiecola · 20/10/2018 23:33

Yes, Meghan and me is correct as explained above. I can't believe they'd get that wrong. It's such an easy rule to remember.

BigGlasses · 20/10/2018 23:52

I agree, “ Meghan an I would like to thank your for your welcome” or “ thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and me”. It’s a bit weird as it’s something I think someone would say when they are in a situation where they don’t feel ‘posh’ /eduacted enough which I don’t suppose is a situation that the royal family often are in, which makes me think the speach was written for him.

Fashion wise I like her outfit, but like everyone else am getting bored of the continual dull colours. People want to see her!

owlshooting · 20/10/2018 23:53

I see that Thomas Markle has still not learned his lesson and is spouting off to the press again...

TisMeTheLadFromTheBar · 21/10/2018 00:01

I'm very excited about the new royal baby. It's lovely to see how Harry is so protective and they seem so in love. Smile

RosinaAlmaviva · 21/10/2018 00:21

I know a few people that are always known by their middle names reason are 1) tradition that first born son is always called X so he was given this as a first name and the parents choice as a middle name which they then always used.

Yes, that's what happened with DF. With DB and one of my cousins it's the other way round - parents' choice first, then the "first born" name as a middle name.

Had no idea Gillian Anderson had a clothing line!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/10/2018 00:28

Yes those boots are just passable for the outfit she has on but I’ve seen better on her.

AhoyDelBoy · 21/10/2018 00:54

I’d love a pair of boots like that 😍 should check out what Meghan wore and see if I need a mortgage for that exact pair!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/10/2018 02:54

So Last night's outfit was a rewear of the Stella McCartney we all admired back in April. Coat by (X files) Gillian Anderson. (Who imho has done a better job of clothes designing than the tennis world champ. So kudos to the Duchess for a rewear and choosing British. However stop with the Navy Blue already; Meg.

Meghan had to pull out of some Invictus events this morning to rest. I am not surprised. Despite the smiles, she was wearing a lot of makeup last night and had the thousand mile stare. I thought she looked exhausted.
She's skipping most of Fraser Island on Monday.

I'm sure she's going to pull out of Fiji. The woman is a trooper; but there's still 2 more weeks of this tour to go.
