Kate saves her best looks for her overseas trips. Her best looks have been from her Oz/NZ, Asia Pacific, Canada and India trips. She tends to experiment more with clothes Enron she's out of the country.

I’m going to post a little homage to Kate. I know some people think she is a bit boring and conservative. That’s how she’s interpreted her role. But she can do sexy & interesting if she wants to.

And I particularly like this outfit from Ascot, it’s like a scene from My Fair Lady and William looks so handsome and is gazing at her adoringly.

Except Kate doesn’t wear the same clothes. She wears some of the same clothes again but she also buys the same style and colour with ever so slight differences that aren’t picked up immediately. The gossip columns then publish a report about her frugality and a few weeks later another smaller piece is published showing the minute differences between then and now and the conclusion is drawn that it wasn’t the same dress at all, just a similar style in the same colour.

She apparently has many many pairs of LKB nude court shoes but again, it’s just a style she likes.

Did anyone see the difference flats and heels make to an outfit? Meghan wore black flats today (which is of course understandable. I can’t figure out how she managed heels for such long periods up until now!) but they also made a big difference to the overall look. I’m saying that as someone who rarely wears heels and suddenly realising they can be the difference between dressed up and not so dressed up.

Is it hot or not in Australia at the moment? I thought it was high teens up to mid twenties? If that is the case I guess a trench is easily put on and taken off though I think Meghan has a fondness for coats. Coats are my weakness too so I enjoy seeing hers

She definitely used to do sexy in the early years of her marriage, and even when pregnant with George wore some really cute maternity outfits. In the last few years she's got very staid but 2 of her recent outfits - the yellow Dolce at Wimbledon and the one from the V&A last week (Erdem?) - have been a refreshing change.

@Jackietheduck Melbourne weather is notoriously changeable so it was a very good idea for Meghan to have a mac on hand!

Has Kate actually ever NOT nailed it? She looks better an hour after birth than I did on my wedding day. Meghan looks so happy, bless. Must be really tiring for her tho.

Really enjoying seeing a female royal on a walkabout in flats. Its so ridiculous seeing them teeter in massive heels all day long just for show. Why not wear more comfortable footwear?

I was actually living in Singapore when the Cambridges visited and went to The Gardens By The Bay to see them. I think Canada & the US was my favourite tour clothes-wise. She wore a couple of absolutely stunning evening dresses and looked beautiful.

I disagree about the flats, they did not suit the outfit, flats look great here but not with the outfit she had on today. I really don’t think she looks ‘ridiculous’ in heels and as for being ‘just for show’ what a weird comment, she is on show!

I think she needed flats on the beach but just not those ones combined with the trench and the dress.

Those are my favourite Kate gowns, along with the teal Jenny Packham. Hope she's back to those now, and steers clear of the Erdem curtains she wore in Sweden!

These are my favourite kate outfits. I actually prefer her look when she is dressed down at more active events beating William at sports but of the "dressed up" looks.

I absolutely love this one too. We have the same colouring (that's where the similarity ends!) and I love her in pretty much all the colours she wears, except for pink. I always joke that I'm allergic to pink and whenever I see her in pink or that awful mauve I shake my head.

Worst Kate outfit was at Pippa's wedding ! . It was spectacularly wrong. Colour, shape, cut it was all wrong in one truly awful mix.

I wonder what Princess Anne makes of it all. I saw a documentary with her recently and she strongly implied that she can't bear all the walkabout stuff the younger generations partake in. With the kneeling/hugging/adoration going on she must be mortified!
