Yes from New Look.. really like them with the black ankle grazers.

ilovecherries · 07/10/2018 19:35

Are ankle grazers the same as 7/8? Trying to get to grips with trousers leg land width lengths?

I’ve slept most of the day, but suddenly feeling a lot better, so hope whatever it was is gone.

I love a good conference, Ella. Enjoy!

I am planning clothes for an upcoming holiday to Chicago (5 days). I will probably travel in my Hush harems and a couple of layered tops, with trainers.

I was thinking of the grey puff sleeve dress with biker boots. If it is very cold I can wear thermal tights and a thermal long sleeve top under it, and if it is just cool I can wear with regular opaques.

Then, 2 wide jersey tops and either skinny black Cos trousers or the leopard leggings. Also with biker boots.

Then the last outfit could be a pair of my gap girlfriend jeans with my (new) favourite Cos knitted jumper and white trainers.

While the outfits can't really be mixed/matched, they are all things I will be comfortable in, day into night (we probably won't change for dinner) and footwear really is the most important part for this trip as we will be on our feet all day. I will probably bring a parka and a lighter Uniqlo roll-up jacket, as I want to keep packing to a minimum!

Ellapaella · 07/10/2018 21:29

That all sounds perfect @miffy2 - Chicago, amazing! Would love to go.
@ilovecherries probably ankle grazers are the same thing, not really sure myself! I have a wee bit of ankle on display but they are not cropped in anyway if that makes sense. Glad you are feeling better m.

miffy2 · 07/10/2018 21:33

Ella I am ridiculously excited! I love visiting the US but have never been to Chicago before. Dh turned 50 earlier this year and decided instead of a party he wanted to go somewhere new. His two sisters and one BIL are coming too, and I cannot wait. We go in 3 weeks' time :) and I have my shopping lists ready!

Ellapaella · 07/10/2018 22:43

@SoyYo I forgot to ask if you'd made it to NewLook and if so if you'd picked up the black fur coat?

EachandEveryone · 08/10/2018 08:51

My massive New Look has closed down does anyone know what’s going on?

Laska5772 · 08/10/2018 09:00

They announced some stores closures earlier this year. Each. I'm off to mainland today visiting DPs will have time to pop into the big Sainsbury's on the way.but nowhere else.. Anything worth looking for in TU?. We have one here but the one near DPs is massive

ilovecherries · 08/10/2018 09:32

I can never get a good fit in Tu unfortunately. I tried on a boucle coat in there on Friday which was nice, but looked awful on me.

I didn’t feel ell enough over the weekend to try on clothes but have pulled on those Joules tunics today with leggings. I ordered 5 colours just as I wanted to see them all at 25% off, not because I was keeping them all. The yellow and pink have self selected as instant returns. The yellow isn’t sitting right at the neck and despite what HoC insists, the pink just made me look a bit dated. So here are sand, silver the navy. I’m still undecided about them, but they are def the best, and I do need some casual jumpers. What do you think. If they aren’t the right size, I’m not exchanging at full price, I’m just going to return them. Sorry about the (lack of) light, it’s barely daylight here.

And these pictures demonstrate why I struggle with tunics these days. From the front, look fine, from the side, it’s nork-central and make me look very big.

Wow, I've found you again, a few threads on from when I was last on!! Been good and not been buying clothes recently as felt I had been becoming a bit addicted to online shopping Wink
Anyway saw this hush skirt on Instagram and had to show you! Anyone seen it anywhere, has it been released?? Looks the same as the S/S leopard skirt but in winter colours. How am I going to resist!!
Will try and catch up on all your posts later today and see any recent purchases.

Yes, it’s. So, tulip. It’s called the Devore leopard maxi. 99 quid.

OP posts:
redtulip12 · 08/10/2018 10:31

Ah thanks @ilovecherries hadn't spotted it before and having seen it is a dress I am not keen "phew". Had it been a maxi skirt in greys and black, I may have been tempted!!

SoyYo · 08/10/2018 10:37

@ella yes I popped into NL and tried on the black fur coat. Only 14 and 16 in stock so too big but tempted to order 12 online...I thought not as substantial as the Hush version, but for the £ a good dupe 👍

ilovecherries · 08/10/2018 10:43

No, it’s a maxi skirt, I think. It’s just teamed with a matching cami.

OP posts:
SoyYo · 08/10/2018 11:06

@cherries seeing the tunics with leggings now I think they look good on, the side view would be the same on me tbh so I totally sympathise.
I don’t think they look enormous at all, just relaxed. My personal preference would be a size down but as they are on you they also look fine. Are you still hesitating?

ilovecherries · 08/10/2018 11:45

Well, I guess I’m def keeping the navy one, as I haven’t taken it off since 8am Grin. They are very soft, very comfy and I love the boat neck. I’m probably just a bit bleurgh about my side view. Which to be honest, is probably the same in most things, it may just be a bit worse in tunics. From the back I look nice, from the front I’m ok as long as I employ all the usual ‘big nork’ tricks, from the side it’s...problematic...is probably the politest way of putting it.

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 08/10/2018 12:00

The thing I hate with a passion is these 3/4 side view mirrors they have in JL. They make me want to cry sometimes. There I am congratulating myself on how I look, then I catch the 3/4 view...

OTOH! My Fly boots have just arrived from Amazon. Not only do they zip up all the way up to my knees (unheard of!), they do so over coated skinnies!!! A day I thought I’d never see. As a side bonus, I can walk in them as well. They are not stylish by any stretch of the imagination, but I like them and they have a certain charm :)

OP posts:
SoyYo · 08/10/2018 12:14

@cherries yes anything boxy/non fitted does have the effect of hanging off boobs on us well endowed girls. On the other hand it sounds like they’re super comfortable and I’m honest it’s not at all unflattering on you as it looks like a nice drapy weight knit so don’t overthink it. If it feels good then it will work and put a smile on your face Smile

SoyYo · 08/10/2018 12:15

Great to read the Fly boots are a winner too 👍

AFingerofFudge · 08/10/2018 14:47

Anyone near Leeds? On my Instagram this morning Hush posted about a pop up shop in Leeds...
Just in case anyone needed enabling Wink

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 08/10/2018 15:43

Oh!! I was there today and almost took a photo outside as it was a shop being fitted with the sign ‘Hush’ and I was going to post it on here querying who the imposter was Grin as I thought they didn’t ‘do’ shops.... anyway I shall do the decent thing and have a look, but going into Cos earlier was a revelation. I could have spent a serious amount!

GinandGingerBeer · 08/10/2018 16:34

Oh really? That's good to know, I'm not in Leeds but not too far away and have been wanting to visit Cos too.

Laska5772 · 09/10/2018 08:57

cherries...Mirrors!! They are big fat piggy liars!!..( am convinced of this) as are plate glass windows.. My side-on reflection is like an ocean liner (or old coal packer!!) especially in coats . But from the front I am sleek and pretty gorgeous for my age Grin.
Yesterday I bought a red cord skirt from Tu which is a siz e too big but it's all I could find in that particular one I wanted I'll get it altered.
Today I am wearing ( only for the 2nd time) the grey puff sleeve dress. So happy that the weekend charcoal dye job has restored it after me pretty much ruining it on its first outing! Wearing with my ( also dyed!) Navy leopard leggings, grey ankle boots and star necklace
