Actually, I'm not sure that the neck IS different. It's just that the monsoon one has its detachable hood on.

Haven't actually tried it, I saw it in the window after the shop was closed. I've nothing to wear that sits inbetween knee length gortex and a utility jacket. This is the woman who for decades had ONE gortex jacket, and a fleece. Now I seem to require a coat for every occasion.

Well I have boots for every occasion cherries!!!!

I think the monsoon one is far more practical with a hood. Its lovely in the navy although I am more of a black person.

Might go back tomorrow if I have time, and have a proper feel at it. I'm funny about velvet - I love proper, thick velvet, but nylon-y, shiny, velour type velvet makes me squirm a bit somehow.

Ooh, cherries, I really like that navy jacket! I have a coat/jacket for every occasion it would appear, so I am going to try and resist but it looks SO cosy!

Yes, I totally agree. I have a pair of boden velvet wide leg trousers. They are proper thick velvet with a bit of stretch. I love them. I think the trousers that hush have on [ the green ones] are a joke quality wise.

Cherries I have a coat and shoe addiction.
You can never have too many coats - coats and shoes make an outfit imo.
I have a biker jacket, leopard print coat, wool coat, teddy bear coat, warm furry fleece, long puffa winter coat, long Seasalt raincoat, mustard yellow raincoat, grey wool coat, a trench coat, a denim jacket, military jacket and multiple blazers. And I'd still buy more!
I really like the black furry new look coat and I've seen a lovely burgundy biker in oasis.

I have two parkas, 1 faux fur coat, a faux fur jacket, a boden navy boucle coat from years ago [ my 40th] with gorgeous red buttons, olive hush coat from last year, a coatigan from Tesco, my gorgeous burgundy biker, my black long blazer jacket and umpteen summer things. I really don't need a jacket!

Oh yes, def a new thread! All I had for years was a man's gortex jacket with a zip in fleece liner from berghaus. That was it. so I have a lot to make up for!

I can see storage might become an issue though!

Now that is a good jacket cherries. And reduced.... I’m meant to be in two long meetings tomorrow but I’m now looking at my diary trying to work out how I fit a jaunt to Monsoon in!

DH has 2 coats 😁
No wonder he rolls his eyes when I rock up with a new one.
