Anne French Cleansing Milk - discontinued?

Just that really. Not available anywhere. Used to use it and stopped. Now on an economy drive and not buying my usual Decleor, so thought I would try AF again. If anybody uses it, is it gone permanently or just a temp thing?

Do you remember Ten O Clock Lotion? Was brown water in a bottle and a toner I think, and I loved it.

Anne French still available! I wrote to the makers, Church & Dwight. Here’s what they said:

“Many thanks for your email enquiry regarding Anne French , I come of good news that this product has not been made discontinued we were in fact awaiting on a raw ingredient for this of which is has now all been produced in our factory and was distributed to stores only last week.

If you look on the Boot's website although it says out of stock there is an option underneath this to check stock by entering your post code. Please do so and you will see a list of stores in and around your post code area which do in fact have this in store again. “

Perhaps some social media savvy Anne French fan can help them run a campaign. It must be decades since the product was last advertised. I was just in the shops and online yesterday looking for a replacement product but there still doesn’t seem to be one. A low priced, effective, unique product, good for dry skin - surely someone can think of something?

I bought a bottle in Savers the other day - my first since the 80s. I used it religiously in my teens and early 20s. I'd forgotten how good it is - and it's really quite moisturising too. Yes, it's old school, but as previously said, there is nothing else like it on the market, especially within its price point.

I love old school stuff, they've stood the test of time.

Saw Anne French cleanser in Boots in Westfield Shepherds Bush on Friday. Yay!!!

I used to use Anne French cleanser in the seventies. Since then I have used many brands of cleansers. I saw this discounted in my local Boots store a while ago and decided to try it again. I do find it removes all my foundation but I don’t use it on my alerts. I decide to buy another bottle again but I found everywhere we’re out of stock. There a lot of posts on the internet saying had it been discontinued. However Boots now have in stock on their website. I also bought one at Bodycare, a lot cheaper than Boots. I checked the ingredients on the label which are exactly the same as my previous bottle. However there is now a stamens to say it contains Formaldehyde and if it causes a rash or irritation then discontinue use. I have found it makes my skin sting a little but leaves my skin very soft and clean. Not sure if I’ll buy it again because I’m concerned that it contains Formaldehyde which be used as a preservative.

I meant to say I don’t use it to take my eye makeup off.

Anne French IS BACK IN STOCK!!!! YAYYY!!!!! Picked up a few bottles today in Boots!!! So glad, it's the BEST deep cleanser ever invented!!!

Saw Anne French last week in a shop i think it was called Body something, kind of like a savers shop, so not discontinued

OP here. It went out of circulation for a while, something to do with a manufacturing issue, but it came back into stores a few months ago. So it is back in Boots, Savers, etc and has been for a while. I started this thread months ago, but all is well now, and it's back everywhere.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but Anne French seems to have disappeared again!

I stockpiled a couple of years ago, and am just coming to the end my last bottle. I only use it on days when my skin doesn't feel it could cope with anything harsher so it lasts me a while.

Anyone seen any around or has it gone forever this time?

It’s gone forever!!! I ran out couple months ago and called them. Bringing out new product 😢been trying all sorts and nothing as good

Same here! I am so gutted it’s gone. Nothing I’ve tried comes close in terms of cleaning skin thoroughly and removing make up but leaving it comfortable and moisturised. My skin is noticeably worse since having to use other products.

I am hoarding a bottle of Anne French as there really are no more to be found anywhere. At all. It's gone. For no good reason, as far as I'm concerned. This has distressed me beyond reason, as my mum used it all the time, and she looked super young, and I used it for decades (and I look young too !!). Sadly the only other product I have found to use is Garnier Miscellar Water All in 1. It is not the same, not at all, but it does a "not bad" job. You have to slap on some Astral cream at night (oh please don't take that away as well) to redress a slight tightness after using Miscellar, or whatever suits you. There just isn't a suitable alternative to Anne French. I am filled with hatred for the manufacturers. 👿

Aaaah! Memories (actually I still have some in my room somewhere!!). It was very fluid and I had to tell people I recommended it to to be carful when it comes out on the cotton wool!. Then just splash your face with water and your skin feels great and is well cleansed. Don't clean your eyes with it though! Ow ow!

I remember the Bonne Nelle 10 0 6 lotion too and the shampoo and face mask, plus Lemon Delph cleanser and toner.. All lovely stuff. And Boots 17 did a herbal cleanser and an orange blossom one.
