Chloe Love Story today as it’s sunny as I want to eek out my ‘fresh’ perfumes before the world goes grey for months on end! Lovely neroli bomb. Has cheered me up no end.

I’ll be sure to check out your blog MissB!

UnnecessaryFennel · 31/10/2018 16:37

John Lewis are doing dinky little sets of Maison Martin Margiela Replicas - ten 2ml samples for £25. So I treated myself Grin

Could I please ask for your help?
Many years ago I was given a small bottle of Bulgari Black. Are there any dupes/similar smells out there. I think it was described as notes of rubber & black pepper Grin

MistyReturns · 31/10/2018 17:44

Oops pressed post too soon.
Thank you for your help

teta · 31/10/2018 17:54

Me too Fennel. I’ve been wanting to try them for a while. Love your blog Missbattleaxe.
I can’t stop wearing Eau d Iparie vintage ( well not that vintage, as it was sold until 2016). There’s nothing out there that’s like this I believe.

UnnecessaryFennel · 31/10/2018 18:04

MMM gift set

Just in case anyone fancies it Grin

MissBattleaxe · 31/10/2018 18:23

I am blushing my head off at all the lovely comments about my blog. I am chuffed to beans, thank you. I need to do a few more posts but things have got busy since I went freelance.

I also know lots about 4160 Tuesdays and can make recommendations galore!

SOTD Le Jardin Retrouve Sandawood Sacre. Superb!

MissBattleaxe · 31/10/2018 18:25

@MistyReturns pretty sure you can still get it. www.amazon.co.uk/Bvlgari-Black-Toilette-spray-hers/dp/B000C1VT70?tag=mumsnetforum-21

diwata · 31/10/2018 18:27

Coco Mademoiselle is awful on me, lots of sour notes and a synthetic, almost deodorant type, smell. Does anyone have this problem too?

What does everyone think of Omnia Crystalline? It smelled nice to me in the sampler I have, but it doesn't seem to project or last very much.

MistyReturns · 31/10/2018 18:56

Thank you battleaxe. Hadn't thought of Amazon Hmm

MrsLucas · 31/10/2018 21:08

I miss the original Omnia. Why did they kill that one off but let the less interesting flankers proliferate? Hmm

Pots - Rosa Ribes or Mother Nature's Naughty Daughters if she likes Who Knew? Be Careful What you Wish For or Bodhi Language if you want an interesting but relatively gentle oudh.

I think we need a 4160Ts-themed Christmas quiz for the thread. If we asked nicely do you think Sarah would set us some questions Grin?

Oooeeer MissBattleaxe, love your blog.

Trip to M&S with my Mum so tested R&G Gingembre but still don't like it that much. About a year ago someone on here sent me a sample of MJ Ginger Splash that was superb until I dropped and smashed it Sad, think I'm still looking for a replacement! Also tried R&G Fleur de Figuier which bizarrely reminded me of Dewberry on opening but then settled into more figgy loveliness.

CountFosco · 31/10/2018 21:47

Namastayinbed glad you like the Fleur de Sel, I got all sweaty and shaky when I found my FB in TKMaxx so glad the sample has gone to a good home.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 31/10/2018 22:35

Thanks for the tip, fennel. I ordered the set for part of my friend’s Christmas.

Tomorrow is the Boots points event if anyone needs anything - spend £50 and get £10 of points. I did a big sniff session today to pick something for my mum, and have decided on EL Beautiful.

Given how grey and wet and generally vile it is today, I don't think I'm going to be venturing outside...so have wreathed myself in springlike florals from yesterday's MMM buy instead. On right wrist is Flower Market and on the left is Promenade in the Garden.

Flower Market is a very pretty but quite generic, low-key freesia/jasmine; not my usual sort of thing but I could imagine wearing this on a day when I just want to smell 'nice' and unthreatening Grin. It does have a freshness that is rather appealing. Promenade has virtually no sillage or longevity at all which is a bit disappointing; if I bury my face in my wrist I can get a vague waft of that dark, slightly jammy Turkish rose. I probably need to reapply as I get the feeling I could quite like this one.

MissBattleaxe · 01/11/2018 10:39

Mrs Lucas- I'm certain Sarah would set us some questions! She is very customer friendly. She has just made some Rosa Ribes chocolate that you can buy with the little travel spray.

MissBattleaxe · 01/11/2018 10:41

CountFosco- if you like ginger, try the 100Bon range (pronounced cent bon). It's in John Lewis, is 100% natural (if that's your thing, it makes no odds to me) and they have a lovely gingery one. Not too expensive- about £12 for a purse spray.

teta · 01/11/2018 11:25

Does anyone know how long it takes Bloom to send out samples?
I’ve now been waiting a week and they haven’t been posted yet.
I know in the past they’ve been very quick. But this time they’ve just been quick at taking my money!
I’m testing out Rook Neroli versus Profumum Roma Neroli today. It’s interesting how the Myrrh is used to add the green to the orange blossom.

AdoraBell · 01/11/2018 11:41

diwata not with that one, but Number 5 smells like disinfectant on me. Now I never buy a perfume without wearing it for at least an hour.

3TresTrois · 01/11/2018 12:16

SOTD MG Plum. Really don’t like the first stage of this but worth it for the plummy, sandalwoody and slightly musky drydown.

I was going for a ‘cosy yet classy autumnal’ vibe...but it’s absolutely hammering down in my neck of the woods, with thunder and lightning and dark skies. Ho hum.

UnnecessaryFennel · 01/11/2018 12:20

teta, I've definitely waited a week or so for Bloom samples to arrive. They're just filling the orders from the back room of the shop so it's not always the fastest process, I guess. Maybe give them a call?
