I also love ginger essence too. But I do find it doesn’t last very well so use Roger & gallet Gingembre edt instead.
Angelique Lilas on a bed of Lilas Mauve today as it’s going to be warm and sunny. The Guerlain is warm and a bit spicy and ideal for a warm autumn day. Had a stonking eBay sales day yesterday. I do worry about buyers who don’t pay at once though. Especially when they don’t respond to my reminder.

UnnecessaryFennel · 09/10/2018 20:51

Loved it this morning, but this evening Avignon has become too austere and churchy. I needed something a bit cosier and more comforting so have had a bath and am now in Captured by Candlelight. Like being smeared in candlewax and Christmas pudding, but in a good way.

It will be Youth Dew tomorrow for the second anniversary of my mum's death. It was buying YD after she died that set me off down the perfume rabbit hole...can't believe where the last two years have gone.

SOTD Byredo Gypsy Water.

Thinking of you tomorrow, fennel 💐💐💐

It was warm and sunny here today and I wanted to pretend it was summer so wore WIDOMH and it felt perfect.

Another day, another airport.

Suggestions for things to try? I've got the red eye home so nothing too coffee based and no root vegetables please - I'm still looking for a fragrance that oozes "she's knows her stuff and smells dead gorgeous now get out of her way"

Difficult Did as people don't seem to currently make perfume for women that smells authoritative. [sceptical]

Chanel Sycomore and 31 Rue Cambon are worth a sniff. If you can find Miller Harris try Etui Noir that's also worth trying (iris/leather).

Not sure if there is a Serge Lutens or Tom Ford with gravitas that might tick all your boxes? Not sure if TF Noir de Noir has been discontinued?

Loads of masculines do this, and I happily wear Heritage and Grey Vetiver to smell boardroom-tastic. I'd recommend the latter but it smells of carrots. Grin

Depending on how you feel about oud there might be possibilities, including Guerlain's Royal Santal?

If you don't manage to find something, have a look at vintage when you get back. Late 60s and early 70s were boom years!

Cristalle edp if I want to appear to be in control.
Its aloof and a bit chilly.
💐Fennel.
Cross because one of the eBay purchasers have not paid. So I will have to resell. Someone with zero feedback not surprisingly.

Hello Perfumistas 👋🏻

It's me Pineapple! With a new but similar name - unimaginative I know.

I've been awol from the thread for the past few months, life and loads of shit happened. Coming out the other side now and missing having people to discuss fragrance with. I've tried and tried with my RL friends but they are happy with their main stream PM and look at me a bit odd when I get excited about unusual notes.

I've been reasonably reserved with my perfume spending, have acquired a few new 4160's, a scent addict subscription and am awaiting a PP order.

I'm loving the cooler weather, mostly because of tights and boots, spiced coffees, burning candles and the wonderful smells, rotting leaves and bonfires on the crisp air is heaven. Autumn is my favourite season Smile

Hope everyone is well!

Hello Peach!

Flowers Fennel.

I am in Au Coeur du Desert.

Boardroom/strong women perfumes: Miss Dior originale, Dioressence, 24 Faubourg, GivenchyIII, Chanel 19, 31 Rue Cambon,

Aldehydes/chypres basically, but straightforward chypres, not hippy-Paloma Picasso ones, divine though they are!

I share your ebay pain Teta, I have been frostily polite this morning to a buyer who bought a Boden top last Friday and is asking why it hasn't arrived yet. Economy postage from outside the UK. FFS. I told her that, as per the ebay information she needs to recontact me if she hasn't got it by 1/11! Gah.

Barbayagar · 10/10/2018 10:59

H&M Formantera today, so wearable for this time of year. I have PP By the Fireplace coming in the post, can't wait!

Oh my days, captured by candlelight is so not me! If anyone would like it as a swapsie please message me!

ToftheB · 10/10/2018 13:56

Hello, this is my first post but I’ve been following along and dabbling in perfumes for a while. Your knowledge and enthusiasm are infectious!

I’ve just received my first 4160 Tuesdays perfume so I feel like I can properly join in now. Sex Goddess is the half price scent this week and it sounded like the sort of thing I love - fruity but interesting. I’m really pleased with it - it smells a lot like Parma violets, which is a good thing! I can see this being a slippery slope....

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 10/10/2018 14:40

Can any of you experts recommend me a violet smelling perfume? The more violet-y the better!

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 10/10/2018 14:42

Tof just refreshed and saw your post! Thank you!

Barbayagar · 10/10/2018 16:30

I'm quite liking Captured by Candlelight which arrived today. It's sweet/gourmand but interesting and complex too.

ToftheB · 10/10/2018 16:49

@waitrose - how lucky! I do recommend you try Sex Goddess, but I’m afraid the half price offer may have moved on. I think that 4160 Tuesdays do good sample sets though, so perhaps some of the real experts can recommend some other violety ones for you to try?
