You could possibly size down though but I remember what you said about the arthritis. Have they any stretch? If they do, I am sure you would get the smaller size on.

enabledlurker · 21/09/2018 16:33

I think you should size down too pidgeonI have just been to the shops in my summer star jeans.Second time of wearing and they were falling downBlush .
Anyone know how to shrink jeans without ruining them?

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 16:37

Tumble dry them? Not maybe if they are the ones with lycra. Usually when you wash them they retract and get stiffer. My jeans always lose shape on day 2 of wearing them. I tend to wash after one wear.
melen will post pictures of my items tomorrow.

enabledlurker · 21/09/2018 16:43

Merci Never

Pigeonpost · 21/09/2018 17:10

No, not stretchy, more like normal thick jeans. I really don't think I'd manage the smaller size as will be just too hard to pull up and do up the button. Depressingly for someone aged 41.

My other boyfriend jeans are these ones and they are much thinner and softer. It was between these and the blue denim Hush boyfriend jeans and the Hush ones were much thicker, like these black ones. I was hoping my medication would improve my hand function and I could get back to my skinnies but it hasn't really sob hence buying another pair of boyfriend jeans. Agree re the roll-ups too, was just trying them and my hands wouldn't work properly to keep re-doing it until I got it right. And I did have a belt on in the pics.

Boyfriend jeans are funny old things as you need to style them right, especially when of the short and dumpy persuasion and not lovely and willowy! My wardrobe has completely changed since my arthritis set in 6 months ago, I wear my Hush harems or Amies as much as I can plus some eBay cheapies as the Hush black harems have a long lead time in M. Soft trousers are essential, it's very dull being me at the moment :(

Have you tried these:

Bargain price and very flattering:

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 17:22

I would say these are true to size. I have them but got them in the hush sale but not for as cheap on brand alley. I really like mine. They don't have much stretch though. They do have 1% so a tiny bit of give.

dontcallmelen · 21/09/2018 18:01

@Pigeonpost really sorry to hear about your difficulties💐 you are right boyfriend jeans are quite difficult to style when you are short, I’m the same & still looking for the holy grail of BF jeans.
Maybe have a nose on M&S/Sainsburys/H&M/Gap websites they usually have soft denim.

dontcallmelen · 21/09/2018 18:02

never look forward to pics.

dontcallmelen · 21/09/2018 18:03

I haven’t bought anything remotely interesting😃 just a navy blue Tilly jumper & pink cardigan from boden in the clearance sale.

Pigeonpost · 21/09/2018 18:25

@neveradullmoment99 Yeah, I think those were the ones I tried in J.Lewis at the same time as the And/Or ones. £25 though!!! ShockShockShock

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 21/09/2018 19:49

How happy am I today! I got the Daniel Malta’s in the post - they are utterly gorgeous. £143 so not cheap by any stretch but fantastic quality. Just the right amount of weight to them. Love the black buckles. Well padded. I’ll take pics tomorrow with some of the wardrobe of stuff I will wear them with. The definition of a keeper!

Ellapaella · 21/09/2018 20:16

@neveradullmoment99 looking forward to your pictures (although I don't want any enabling thanks very much - have no spare cash at the moment).
The tiger scarf sounds lovely.. off to have a look.
@Pigeonpost I think the jeans are ok but like you say maybe a bit big around the waist but I'm sure that with a black belt they will look fine. Agree with not having them rolled up quite so much, you could also wear them with trainers as well as boots. I have the blue star boyfriend jeans and I've worn them with either sandals or my Nike Pegasus or superga's, all look good. Haven't tried with boots yet.
Have you got the zebra jumper yet @neveradullmoment99? I'd love to see pics of that.

Ellapaella · 21/09/2018 20:17

Ooh not sure how that all ended up bold, sorry!

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 20:21

Hi @Ella. Yes I got the grey zebra today but Im not keeping it. Its lovely but not worth the money imo. I will post pictures tomorrow before I return it.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 20:59

Zebra jumper. Not that special? Sorry about the mirrors

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 21:01

Maybe the red one is more special? I just cant really get excited by this in the flesh. Pity [but not for my bank balance!!!]

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 21:02

..or maybe I want to dislike it. Its the price that is putting me off. I do like it and could love it but at £99 Shock and £90 with discount - really?

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 21:03

I have two tees under it so its not as loose as it should be. You can see one poking out the bottom!! [oh and my odd socks!!]

Ellapaella · 21/09/2018 22:02

It's lovely but I have to agree that it's way overpriced. Are you sending it back?

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 21/09/2018 22:04

Just looked at the tiger scarf and I love it! Really beautiful.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 22:07

Definitely going back. No way is it worth it. If it goes on sale, then yeh, I would buy it but not at that price.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 22:08

I didn't really have any intention of keeping it really. Just wanted to see what it looked like. It would have to have been really very special and its not.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2018 22:10

The tiger scarf is gorgeous and tbh, I can see why it is pricey as it is unsual and its made of lovely soft woven wool. I think I will keep it.
