Sorry you are feeling so crap, all those who are suffering. My daughter’s health is a bit of a ticking time bomb, although she’s well at the moment, and that’s what I try and hang onto. But oddly, when things are more precarious, I superficially cope very well, and have done for 20 years. But I seem to develop displacement anxieties instead. Sometimes I get very afraid of leaving home, or terrified of the car (not so difficult when we are living at home, but a nightmare here), sometimes it’s crippling health anxiety about everyone other than her, sometimes it’s generalised panic or dread/doom. Each time it lasts for months at least, and gets worse after the crisis period is over. My husband tries to understand but he doesn’t get how I get so afraid about everything other than the main issue. At the minute, I’m doing everything I can to avoid driving. It’s horrible.

dontcallmelen · 29/09/2018 20:13

@Porpoise yy the driving, I have become a much worse passenger as I have got older & motorways really induce panic my Dh has to try & find routes on the A & B roads, have also got really bad with bridges & heights. Agree that getting outside & trying to look around & up taking in what’s around helps concentrate the mind.

Ellapaella · 29/09/2018 20:17

Yes I have got a bit of an anxiety issue about driving on motorways lately. I have lived 240 miles away from the rest of my family (parents, siblings, childhood friends) for the last 10 years and have driven the full length of the A1/M1 more times than I care to remember to visit them, but just recently I can't face it, it induces a dreadful fear and panic and my heart is racing the whole time. I hate it.

cherries can totally relate with the health/driving anxieties, my dd has serious health issues as well & now I have the added worry of dgd in the mix, I am exhausted as just had the baby for the last two days/nights due to her not being well enough to care for her, my Dh is the same he tries very hard to support me but, I’m not sure he really gets it, I haven’t driven for over a year as I’m to scared of not being able to control the car.
💐 for everyone having a hard time.

To return to more sartorial matters. If I had to choose (and I DO have to choose) between the Burgundy skirt from JL that I had on yesterday and the Marina snakeskin, which should I have? Love them both but do not require three similar skirts (already have the black one).

ilovecherries · 29/09/2018 20:36

In practical terms, the Marina is washable (and I know it comes out ok), and it’s fractionally longer and slightly swishier. The JL one is dry clean only because it’s got box pleats rather than unstructured ones.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 21:00

Oh i love love love the snakeskin print. Its on my wish list. Did you order it cherries? I would love to see it in RL. Its stunning. You really suit the burgundy one too. I would keep them both imo.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 21:02

Are the marina skirts true to size laska? Im tempted by the black one to go with my lovely red leopard star jumper!

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 21:02

Or cherries, i know you both have them!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 21:03

Send the dry clean one back. No time for that. Its a pain.

ilovecherries · 29/09/2018 21:04

My marina is a 12 never, which is pretty much right for me, so you are usually a size smaller?

ilovecherries · 29/09/2018 21:05

I’ll take a picture of the snakeskin tomorrow :)

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 21:13

It depends. I had ordered it in the past and i cant remember what i ordered. I am a 12 too. Sometimes i order a size down in hush when there is an elastic waist as i hate things too full.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 21:15

I saw the one on JL website. I think it looks lovely on you in burgundy. I think the snakeskin looks lovely but what colour is it? Is it grey. Its hard to tell. What would you match with it?

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 21:17

I think tomorrow is the last day for the discount. I would love to see the skirt and will look forward to seeing it on you tomorrow.

Hi to all my fellow anxiety/depression buddies. Sorry to hear lots of you are feeling crappy just now.
I work in MH and also take ADs and daily fight with anxiety so one way or another I know it inside out! Happy for anyone to PM me anytime x

ilovecherries · 29/09/2018 23:53

never, I’m not sure how well this will come out on screen, but here is the fabric. There’s a mix of black, mink/grey, pale grey and then ‘scales’ in silver. It’s not glittery as such - ie not like lurex, more a matt, reflective silver. It’s a beautiful fabric, and I think it would need something very plain with it and let the skirt do the talking. Black certainly would work, and I have the Katie crew in charcoal that I will try. I was also thinking of ordering a silver grey merino from uniqlo if I can work out the sizing. Finally, I have a top from kettlewell from last year - I think they might call it mole - which I will try.

ilovecherries · 29/09/2018 23:55

I would say the hush websitedoesnt do justice to the fabric. It does seem a tad staticky, but I seem to be full of static today, have had multiple shocks, so it may just be me and the shoes I have on.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/09/2018 00:07

It looks lovely. Would you say its nicer than the self coloured ones?
Thanks for posting.
Carr1e Thanks for posting. So many people with the same thing. Its nice to be able to chat about it. Sorry you have been a fellow sufferer too :)

ilovecherries · 30/09/2018 00:11

Well, I only have the black, so it’s hard to say. I think it IS nicer than the JL ones - I prefer the unstructured pleat to the box pleats they have.

Ellapaella · 30/09/2018 09:04

The snakeskin skirt is the winner for me cherries without a doubt.

I’m on team snakeskin too! Very tempted by it...
