I appear to do a lot of ironing by mumsnet standards, but I hate doing complex garments with lots of folds, they never seem to look as nice after that first wash.

GinandGingerBeer · 28/09/2018 21:13

Cherries I'm loving your haul!
I might try and get into new look and pick up one of those leopard skirts, both the green and burgundy are lovely but I don't want to pay a tenner if I can get them in store for £6.
Love the burgundy midi skirt and the blue blouse.
Are you sure those green velvet jeans aren't a bit on the big side? Hard to tell for sure in the pics but you'll be eBaying them next winter if they are Smile

ilovecherries · 28/09/2018 23:47

Thank you, Gin! You are right, they aren’t really sitting like skinnies on me. The challenge I’ve had is that I’ve lost a LOT of weight from my legs, hips and bum - proportionally more than I have from my abdomen and torso. So my waist is still thicker than I would like and I can’t go smaller than a 12 round there - but everything is then a bit loose everywhere else. I’ve tried dresses as an alternative to separates, but that’s even worse. Because of the 32K chest, I often have to go to a 14 on top. Anything fitted hangs off my shoulders, yet strains at the bust, and sags attractively lower down. I’m trying to shift a final 7-10 lbs but sadly it’s not coming off the right places. My face gets thinner, my bum continues to shrink, yet my chest remains...ahem...magnificent Grin and my waist shrinks a millimetre a month. I don’t really need to be losing much more weight now, I just need to find a way of spreading it around in a more equitable way!

I only iron school uniforms and my work uniforms. DH has to take his work shirts to the laundrette for ironing or do them himself. I have a great tumble drier which has an iron setting, virtually everything comes out straight and crumple free.

noodlezoodle · 29/09/2018 01:30

Ha, I hadn't even thought about the complexities of ironing it!

Cherries, good to know the top looks lovely in real life. I may have to take the plunge.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 07:12

I use my washer dryer to decrumple. It hasnt got an ironing setting. I would love a separate tumble drier. I dont iron much. I hate it. Just school uniform and the odd thing for me. My dh doesnt wear a uniform or suit di thats good😀

Ellapaella · 29/09/2018 08:12

It's a lovely top noodle - go for it.

I actually love quite a few tops from hush. I really like their floral bell sleeved top. Its very pretty. I also like the black one. Still love the gorgeous teal star long sleeved tee. I wish JL would honour the 10% but because Hush are largely an online company they don't price match. Its annoying.

Talisin · 29/09/2018 08:48

John Lewis match price drops so when Hush actually discount stuff rather than have an option to enter a code at check out, JL will follow suit.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 08:53

Yes, they do sometimes Talisan but sadly, not always as I have a code for 10% off from Hush but they are not price matching that as its just the original price.

SoyYo · 29/09/2018 09:44

noodles I’m on a plane about to take off so won’t be back till later today but just checking the thread (as you do!) I see your question about Charlie twist dress which I ordered in a 12 (my usual Hush dress size if no buttons are involved) and it was too big so ended up returning...definitely go one size down as it’s very roomy. The fabric is lovely and the gold stripes on black classy and not at all tacky. I thought it was very scratchy and main reason I didn’t bother to exchange for a smaller size but this may not bother you and I’d reconsider if it was reduced at sale time.
Hope this helps you

I’m a bit Sad that our fab late summer holiday is over but also looking forward to seeing DS2 and hopefully DS1 in the next week or two, I feel rested and sunkissed. Hope I can retain the feeling once back in UK it’s going to be 28C here like the last few days so it’ll be a shock to adjust to GB Autumn temperatures. Have enjoyed reading your latest news and seeing purchases, everyone looks great 👍

Talisin · 29/09/2018 11:54

never, yes that’s what I mean. They only price match if an item is actually reduced. They do not price match for discount codes or vouchers because to do that they’d have to provide an equivalant to that code or voucher that works on the JL site for only that range. They can’t just reduce the whole range because lots of people buying via the Hush site will be paying full price anyway as they won’t be aware of the code. If JL then auto reduced the price on Hush they would actually be undercutting them.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 12:16

Yes, they cant really do that and I agree that most people aren't aware of any code. Its just annoying!! Hey ho, it was only £4.50 so its not the end of the world. Swings and roundabouts. Actually just realised that I got 25% off all the things I bought from Tesco yesterday so that's pretty good :)

Laska5772 · 29/09/2018 12:53

Latest stuff from Brand alley came Lush Ash black star/leopard trainers (these are leather) and Hush yellow asphalt star T (which I liked all along but wouldnt have bought at £35 but its great for £12 ! )

The trainers are really fab and comfy straight off ..

I used a 2nd email address and referred myself and got £20 off and paid only £66 for the lot! Smile

If anyone wants these I have a Brand Alley £20 off code I can share (I think its on purchases over £80)

Navy Star leopard jumper came, DH says it makes me look slim which is plus point, although I am considering it . Its a hell of a lot of ££ . Photo later ( DH has taken over the upstairs, with the vacuum and i cant get in !

Hush yellow T was taken out of the bag and onto my back straight away!! Love it

Laska5772 · 29/09/2018 13:05

I'm wondering if it would look good with this skirt?

Laska5772 · 29/09/2018 13:06

The hush jumper that is with the navy skirt? what do you think?

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 13:15

Love the trainers laska. Great buy. I returned my brand alley stuff simply because i didn't love it and i couldn't justify the money after purchasing the hush jacket and leopard star jumper.
I think the navy pleated skirt is lovely and would great with the navy star jumper.

Laska5772 · 29/09/2018 13:23

the problem Is that they only have it in the 12 and 16.. I have a feeling that the 12 may be too small and the 16 too big..

neveradullmoment99 · 29/09/2018 13:30

What about on the MV website? They may have it on there. The 16 will be huge laska.

Laska5772 · 29/09/2018 15:53

Ok so I've finally been allowed upstairs! (when he cleans he really cleans!) Grin

Here is the Star jumper.. The only thing have atthe moment that looks vaguely ok with it is the navy harems , So thats one consideration. Id need to get something else to go with it possibly dark navy jeans , but I've paired it with the H&M pleated skirt so you can see how I am thinking of wearing it ( if I was to keep it and get a navy pleated skirt like the Mint Velvet one ) .

Honest opinions please! its so expensive,

This'll be a love it or hate it (don't worry I won't be offended if anyone thinks it's grim Grin) but I picked up this super furry warm coat today. Makes me look like a sheep but it's super cozy.
Also got a lovely grey waffle type jumper in warehouse.
There are some lovely things in the shops at the moment. Could have spent a fortune.

and i'm wondering if i look a bit chunky in it.. Its a M

Ellapaella · 29/09/2018 15:55

Navy pleated skirt would be great with it or even a skirt in one of the colours within the star.
