Yes The Boden sale.

I really like some of their shoes, although the Hoxton boots were a complete indulgance (as was the coat!) I honestly could not bring myself to buy anything else!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 15:29

I really like the boots you have but my limit for shoes is 7cm high. Tbh, I have a pair of shoe boots from clarks and they are 8cm and its strance but that 1cm difference makes all the difference to me! Saying that, I would consider them. They are gorgeous.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 15:30

Sorry about my typos. Typing too fast ha ha...

Ellapaella · 23/09/2018 16:15

There's nothing that I really really want at the moment. I like the Jessica coatigan in Boden but at £90 it's too pricey with Christmas looming - I have loads of grey cardigans.
Hush - wise I like the Emmanuelle dress and am quite tempted to order that with the 10% to see if it suits me. It would work with loads of stuff I've got and I think it would be a good dress to wear either casual or smart.

I'm actually thinking of doing a bit of a high street session next weekend. I'd like to have a mooch round Zara, Mango and All Saints. I need socks and underwear and some new pyjamas so a good excuse to take myself off to the metro centre next weekend.

I was thinking the same but going into Glasgow. Thought I would like to go into Mango as I really like some of their things atm. Although I do like to browse online, the reviews for ordering are really poor and it puts me off. I did order something from them for next day delivery and it took days. Also, their customer services were non existent. They just completely ignored me and to this day I haven't ever received a response [not that I expect one over a year later!] But it has left me thinking, what if things go wrong with my order? where will they be? I'm not sure they even use paypal so would be very hesitant.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 17:24

They actually do use paypal, so at least you have that. Trustpilot is littered with negative comments about their online ordering.

Ellapaella · 23/09/2018 17:50

I've had similar experiences with Topshop online, and Zara. So I would definitely prefer to go into store.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 17:54

Topshop must have gone so down hill since Ive ordered. I don't really buy things from them but I have in the past and their delivery has been very quick but then, I haven't had anything go wrong. When things go wrong that is when you see how good there CS are!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 17:56

Never ordered from Zara and tbh, their sizes in the store are hit or a miss for me. I do love some of their stuff but I cba buying online and then waiting for a refund forever!

Ellapaella · 23/09/2018 18:07

Zara is strange. I see other people wearing stuff that looks great and I ask them where it's from and they say Zara but when I go in it just looks like a tat shop.
Thought I'd give it a go though and have another try. Zara returns is awful - you have to register your own return and then print off your own return forms, then you have to wait for a courier to pick it up! They don't let you know when they're coming so if you miss it you have no choice but to return to store anyway. Really poor.

dontcallmelen · 23/09/2018 18:48

Yy zara returns, have been caught out with that palaver agree also that it can be difficult finding good stuff, but I have a few really nice summer tops all cotton & have lasted really well, they also sometimes have some really great coats & jackets, I have to be in the mood for zara.

AFingerofFudge · 23/09/2018 18:55

laska I bought the Joules plum boatneck. I don't normally shop in Joules but I saw it on the John Lee website and it's gorgeous! I have it on today!

So I caved in and ordered the Chrissie jacket, honest opinions sought. This is the size 12 and it feels like it fits well and is comfy to wear (you know how some jackets make you feel a bit hemmed in?)

Laska5772 · 23/09/2018 19:04

finger I am wearing mine also today ! I do like the Chrissie jacket on you..what are you planning wearing it with?

Picked up the plum buckled M&S boots , tried them on in the strore and straight back they went!. They didn't do anything for me at all and were much harder leather than the Clarks ones. . I brought home, but will also be returning, the checked M&S skirt as it didn't look right with my yellow jumper after all. ..

Laska5772 · 23/09/2018 19:08

I haven't looked in the Boden sale though, I've bought a lot recently and although there have been a lot of returns I want to see what my credit card statement says once all refunds have gone through (hopefully only a small amount if Ive worked it out correctly) But am still hoping for a returned Brigitte jumper in my size on BA.. no luck so far, only large ones on there .

Do we know when the Hush winter stuff is due..?

Laska5772 · 23/09/2018 19:08

the next lot I mean.. ?

ilovecherries · 23/09/2018 19:12

DD had collected my brandalley parcels from P.O. while I was away. The boyfriend jeans at £25 we’re a keeper, despite having had them at full price minus 10% and again at £40 directly from Hush, and deciding both times I didn’t love them enough. Also the two boat neck cashmere jumpers - more gessato than full strength cashmere, and hope the knit doesn’t close up in the wash as it’s quite loose but lovely jumpers at £45. I had also ordered the black military jacket in washed black, but that’s put away for DD’s Xmas. The postage didn’t feel too bad spread over 4 items. I’m also bloody freezing. First thing I did when I got home was swap the summer duvet off the bed!

AFingerofFudge · 23/09/2018 19:27

laska I will probably wear it with black skinny jeans and perhaps the Hush red flock star tee?
I just need to make sure I actually wear it if I'm going to take the labels off!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 19:36

I think it will be once the 10% is over? Beginning of October so pretty soon?
I like the jacket finger and love it on the website but I am not sure I would wear it that often. For me, although it can be casual would probably not choose to wear it. For work I would feel too smart. I had the longline black blazer and wore it a few times with trainers and bf jeans and a tee but even like that I felt I was 'dressed up.' I love the look of it but in reality it doesn't fit my life. But it looks lovely and if you are sure you will wear it then no reason not to keep it as it looks good.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 19:40

cherries check your brand alley purchases carefully. I noticed after throwing the packaging away that the back as strange marks on it [similar to the mark a peg would make on a garment on the washing line] Its not that bad when ironed but it is definitely a flaw. I cba to return it so will keep it cause it was only about £22 and I do like it but just double check.

GinandGingerBeer · 23/09/2018 19:40

My Shelley blazer has arrived and it's a keeper. It's heavy and a good length in that it's long and doesn't sit on the widest part of my thigh. I've taken a pic but it's so dark you can't really see it.
So here's what I'd like to look like in it if I had the leather trousers 😂

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 19:40

Oh it was marks on the baby blue kerala blouse.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2018 19:41

I adore that blazer!! Stunning and I love love love that model shot. She looks amazing in it with the boots.

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 23/09/2018 19:59

So following previous recommendations on scarfs here, which have always worked out really well, I looked at and love the tiger red one. However, did I understand correctly in that their sale might start early Oct? If so, do I pass on the 10% off and hold out until then.... or do I not take any chances and go with the 10% now as there’s no guarantee it will be in the sale (esp if it’s selling well!). Why is it all so bloomin complicated Grin

ilovecherries · 23/09/2018 20:02

I’ve been looking for a blazer like that for about 30 years after my previous perfect one finally died. It’s just too much black near my face though. If it had been in charcoal, navy or burgundy it would have been mine. That’s annoying about the Kerala shirt, never. I did have it at one point and returned it because it just felt too fragile for me. I’m so messy, sometimes.

GinandGingerBeer · 23/09/2018 20:04

Maybe they'll do it in another colour for winter cherries? I know what you mean about black, I have to be careful too and need a bit more slap on and a bright lipstick when I'm wearing it.
I love the outfit the model has on, she looks fab.
