Any autumns around?

I've done a search but it's a bit tricky with so many threads about autumn fashion!

There used to be quite an active thread for autumns so I wondered if anyone is still around :)

Not the most exciting purchase, but I have just got this bamboo vest in warm grey and aubergine. Both seem to tone in well with my swatches. And the fabric is lovely.

Today I'm cheating a bit as I'm wearing the wrong navy blue, but I am wearing it with geranium which hopefully sort of cancels it out!

I’m a self diagnosed soft autumn. Though I do suit many of the colours in the soft summer spectrum as well. I’ve just ordered a M&S brown velvet top .

Yes! Another autumn leaf here. I have given up on different types of navy WWLKD - I reckon they all look ok both on me and with the other autumn colours, and I was driving myself loopy trying to find the 'right' navy blue! Otherwise I am very well behaved though and stick to the (HoC) rules

I’m also a HOC Autumn - my best colours are the reds, olives and teal.

Navy is really hard. I figure as long as it’s not black toned it will fit into my wardrobe!

Ah fab there's a few of us then my best colours are the darker ones - teal, rust etc.

I've just had three jumpers arrive from Next.

Snowflake Christmas jumper - it's like a slightly pink beige. I always want a Christmas jumper but they are usually in completely the wrong colours. It's also not too in-your-face Christmassy. It feels wrong to order it so early but I know otherwise they'll sell out and I'll never find another one as good.

Leopard print jumper I wear quite a bit of leopard print

Ochre mini cable sweater. I hadn't noticed in the photos but the collar is actually glittery. It's a gorgeous colour. I think I'll keep it anyway. Hopefully it won't be scratchy.

I think you're right about the navy. I just find I need to stick quite rigidly to rules as I'm not very good with colours/creative type stuff and I don't want to slip into wearing too many of the wrong colours.

I've ordered some bits and bobs from Sainsbury's too. They often seem to have things in our colours.

I had a bit of an online shopping spree the other day when I couldn't sleep I don't usually buy this much all in one go!

Have any of you had any sort of style consultation?

I've just booked one for the end of the month, but it's not with the HoC consultant as I really didn't like her. I'm hoping it is a compatible system. I'll see how it works as my mum is getting her colours done in the same session :)

I've had style by HoC - am a natural gamine. I found it at least as helpful as the colours, if not more so.

Haven't bought much recently, but I have a trip to London in a few weeks and will be hitting the shops hard!

Anyhow re the style class, this isn't just a HoC system. There's a lot of information out there about yin /yang quizzes for Kebbe, measurements for different types of FP, face and body shapes and appropriate clothes. If you have the time and interest, you could potentially work it out yourself.

I'm an autumn too, although I don't know what type. I love oranges, mustard and camel best.

Recently had a huge spree and looking forward to wearing it all. Struggling to find much in mustard though.

I got some lovely brown leather Chelsea boots from Sainsbury's.

Warm/deep autumn here. Sadly I don't suit mustard yellow though - it's everywhere!

I’m a HOC soft autumn, which I find really hard as I’m naturally drawn to spring colours and don’t really like the autumn sludges.

Am confused that you’re all wearing navy - I was told navy is a complete no no for autumns (although I have a navy suit which I think looks pretty good).

I have navy in my colour swatch from HoC but it’s not one of my best colours though . Good for jeans as away from the face .

Haven't bought anything this season yet, but I did get a really good dress from fat Face in their sale at the end of spring- great colour, a soft burgundy, but also thick jersey so good for autumn weather .
I do wear a lot of navy, but only because it's my favourite colour, not because it suits me

What I really struggle to find is greens. There are so few green clothes around, I have actually kept some of my maternity wear because the colour was just right
I find people are very bad at describing greens too (for eBay etc), it's most annoying!

Leaf autumn here. Am loving all the coffee and chocolate that is around at the moment. Best colours: mustard, lime, teal, saffron, moss green.

In terms of warm greens, haba, Reiss is doing some very promising stuff.

I have a 40s vintage long chocolate brown velvet pencil skirt with a slit up the side which I intend to live in with tan ankle boots, tucked in shirts and jumpers and my cape.

In terms of purchases: a tan cord skirt from Warehouse, a sea green jumper from Hush (which had to go back - too scratchy) and some tan suede kitten heels from LK Bennett.

We aren't really "allowed" navy MassDebate apart from one type - French navy like SpeckledyHen says. It's got a sort of warmer undertone. But I think a lot of us cheat a bit because it's a good alternative to black.

I've got some nice green bits but I buy most of my stuff from charity shops so no useful recommendations I'm afraid.

I don't ever really buy anything from Kettlewell, but there are a few navy blues in their autumn colours here. The marine navy looks lovely and now I'm quite tempted!

I think I'm an Autumn, I've looked on s few colour diagnosis sites but I'm not sure.

My natural hair colour is auburn, used to be very vibrant when I was young but had darkened over the years. My eyes are an Amber brown, skin I'm not sure but I burn then tan, get freckles I'm s medium colour in most foundations but not sure if tone think I may get be neutral.

Colours that suit are coral, teal, green, mustard, navy, tomato red, burgundy, rust.

Any advice please ?

I’m a HOC Autumn. ‘Wow’ colours are kingfisher blue, turquoise, dark green, royal purple, chocolate brown. I bought this jumpsuit from Next that I wore last weekend. Honestly, I’ve never had so many compliments! My next mission is a nice, warm winter coat. I bought a lovely black one last year then got my colours done! Think I’ll sell that on to buy a new one!

I find nearly all navy colours look good on me as a soft autumn. As do most greens. I think some of these colour systems are too prescriptive and limiting. I do find I tend to go for the deeper shades in winter and the lighter in summer though.
I’ve bought a recycled Cashmere jacket from Turtle Doves in browns and creams. I had to change my whole outfit trying it on as it looked terrible with grey and blue. A white linen t shirt didn’t look right so I had to switch to a cream one and khaki pants. Black boots also looked dreadful so I dug out my tan boots. It’s such a shift in colours from the Navy and greys I’ve been wearing for so long. It’s actually quite hard to adjust your mindset, as for so long tans and browns have not been ‘cool’ or fashionable.

I had my colours done about 30 years ago when my mom and aunt were into it. I didn't even know there were different kinds of autumns.
I love chocolate, mustard, khaki, teal, moss green (and although it is not my best colour, I wear a lot of black).
I live in a hot country and miss this time of year, I love autumn and shopping for fall clothes. Ji am jealous of all and your shopping opportunities!

@teta yes I wear navy too! I see it as my staple colour because it goes with everything and helps me pull outfits together. I’ve found it hard to move away from back because I wore it loads but realise it doesn’t really suit me.

slinky those are definitely autumn colours so it sounds like you're on the right track. Would you consider getting an assessment? The HoC one is quite expensive, but if you Google your location you might be able to find someone cheaper. The woman I've booked my style appointment with does colours for about £40. Although if you're happy with the palette you've identified then obviously you don't need to be officially "diagnosed" anyway. As you can probably tell from my posts I'm a huge wimp so I really needed someone else to give me rules! :)

Faith that jumpsuit is gorgeous! I have got a rust padded jacket from Next for this winter. It is very cosy so I'm waiting impatiently for the weather to cool down a bit :)
