Great advice re. sizing on the Stories site @miffy2 thanks.

Looking great @neveradullmoment99 !

DavetheCat2001 · 01/09/2018 11:54

Looking great in the Kensington, never.

I'm meeting my best friend for dinner this evening and have bought the Raven dress with me to possibly wear. I need to decide obvs before I cut the tags off..

Going to ask my mum her opinion.. i'm staying with her today.

@Ellapaella I'm tempted by the wooden earrings too.. they looked amazing on never.

My mums comment was its a nice, plain dress tgat coukd be jazzed up, she prefers it with leggings/ tights underneth.

One thing she said was it does seem to cling a bit at the back to my leggings.. I gave tried to get a pic.

@DavetheCat2001 - it's ok at the back, why not wear with opaque tights? May be less fabric to cling to.
With some statement earrings and/or a pendant, some bangles and your biker jacket I think it would look fab. I would definitely wear it for a meal out as above, maybe with a splash of bright lipstick as well.
Are you still on the fence about it? I honestly think it suits you really well.

Nearlyadoctor · 01/09/2018 12:41

@Davethecat I’m with Ella on this one.

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 01/09/2018 12:42

Today’s outfit. It’s definitely autumnal here and I’m just running round. Hush animal print leggings, dunnes long line vest and a next sportswear top. So comfy!

@PorpoisefullyObtuse you look great. I'm a bit jealous of your sparkly clean bathroom as well. Currently knee deep in bleach with a toothbrush scrubbing the edges of my shower!

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 01/09/2018 12:51

And what the hell is my left hand up to???

redtulip12 · 01/09/2018 12:55

@neveradullmoment99 I really like the dress on you. Good decision to keep it.

@DavetheCat2001 I think you should keep the dress.. I prefer it on you with leggings and tights rather than bare legs so will be perfect for autumn!

@PorpoisefullyObtuse love your outfit. Was going to wear my leggings today but it's amazingly too warm!!

My star biker sweat arrived today and is a definite keeper. Not sure about the black star tee. Nothing wrong with it, just need to decide whether I can justify the price for a tee.

Wish I could wear any earrings. Unfortunately I am stuck with hypoallergenic ones which are few and far between 😥

EachandEveryone · 01/09/2018 13:53

Honest opinion for the pub wedding please. It comes up brighter in real life. It doesn’t pull anywhere. Need help with accessories if you think it’s a keeper,

Just got back from colonoscopy so feeling thinner!

Hi each I’ll be honest I’ve seen you in better, not in love with the style...I like the v neck and length and imagine it’s super comfy but I think a style with a more defined waist will look fantastic on your shape.
Really glad your colposcopy went well Flowers
Even if it’s just a pub wedding you can get a more dressed up style.
If it’s brighter in RL and you want to keep/feels good on then I’d style with a delicate silver necklace (something like never’s new one), I’d go for opaques if you want comfy ankle boots but you could also glam it up with heels and bright red lipstick as ella suggested for dave. A leather/suede biker would also look great. It’s a very versatile style so easy to dress up/down but you need more waist definition (I’m like you so I know and the reason I steer clear of too loose styles). Do you have a brown belt you could try with it? Feel free to ignore me if I sound like Gok

dave said it before that dress looks great on you, it’s a keeper!

Really warm and sunny in East Anglia today, wish I could go for a long walk, counting the days till I can chuck star trooper boot on bin!

DavetheCat2001 · 01/09/2018 15:14

I think that looks great each. I'm a bit rubbish with accessories but you could definitely pull on a nice bright red lip with that outfit I reckon.

Ok..my last question on the Raven..promise!

Does it look ok with bare legs and boots? I am aware that I am pasty white and would slap on a bit of FT before going bare legged.

Just trying to make a final decision on whether to wear it this evening(with leggings).

I’ll keep the dress but maybe not for a wedding. I’ll need to look this week I hate the shops at the moment.

missfliss · 01/09/2018 15:31

@EachandEveryone it's a nice dress - glad you are keeping, a pub wedding sounds hard to dress for!

missfliss · 01/09/2018 15:32

@DavetheCat2001 looks really nice with bare legs. I'm planning on wearing my Ivy dress that way if the shape suits me

Ellapaella · 01/09/2018 15:37

@EachandEveryone I think if you are wearing those boots with the dress then it would look better with tights. If you want to go bare legs then what about a heeled sandal or similar type shoe? Agree with @SoyYo about adding a belt and a nice pair of earrings and a few bangles - good to go. What about a thin red or silver belt?

Ellapaella · 01/09/2018 15:38

@missfliss love those earrings!

Ellapaella · 01/09/2018 15:40

@DavetheCat2001 the dress also looks great with bare legs, quite boho, but I still think add in some jewellery for full effect.

AFingerofFudge · 01/09/2018 15:43

Just back from work and Hush order has arrived! Will report back in a bit when I've had a coffee to liven me up a bit!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/09/2018 15:44

Dave - I think the dress would look best with opaques, rather than leggings. You have lovely legs (!) but personally am not a fan of bare legs and boots. It doesn't cling at all - it really suits your figure.

Each - have you tried the dress with opaques, or with different shoes? Again, personally, I think boots don't really work terribly well with short dresses and bare legs.

DavetheCat2001 · 01/09/2018 15:46

Ok thanks all..I'm going to keep I think Grin

I can't afford it really and my thinking was either keep the wide top when that arrives or the dress, but actually sod it!

Thanks for all your comments..I love this board because everyone is so honest and it REALLY helps when you are just unsure as to whether something really works or not. Relying on my 80 year old mother can be a bit hit and miss too, although she is quite stylish for her age (and loves clothes too!).

@missfliss I thought about getting those rainbow climbers too, I think they are so pretty. Trouble is my pierced ear holes have closed up as I haven't worn earring for so long! They look lovely on you.
