@Dave and @Ella. I totally agree it is way more versatile than the wide jersey top. That really can only be worn with leggings [too short for me tbh] or skinny jeans. Its comfy and very wearable there is no doubt there.

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 16:00

Sleeves are elasticated never. .That frill really is bugging me actually the more i look at it , I think its going to be a no.. It really is big, there is a huge amount pegged at the back ! and I'd be paying £45 and then altering it .

carr1e1977 · 30/08/2018 16:02

Dave I really like the dress ,but you are right its expensive for what it is. It is also very plain so its the kind of dress I would wear to work so I guess it depends where you would wear it?

Laksa I think the proportions are wrong on you, which may be the sizing as it clearly swamps you. A drop waist is tricky to wear as it seems to shorten you.

Ellapaella · 30/08/2018 16:03

Actually Dave you may have enabled me. But not this month - I've spent nearly £300 on clothes this week. I really like the colour and look of your dress so it's on my list. Have actually made quite a bit on eBay and FB selling the last two days so maybe I can justify it Blush

Ellapaella · 30/08/2018 16:07

My trainers arrived from Dunnes.. they are very shiny. Like the style but not in love, no point sending back as it'll cost more in postage than they cost.
DS (16) says they look 'ok' but that I must wear them with the right things and be sure to wear with socks(!). Must be a teenage thing.
Parka went back and I went all practical and ordered this coat from superdry. Perhaps not super chic or stylish but very warm and cosy, like wearing a sleeping bag.

Carrie thanks that's useful..and I think you may be right.. . the 10 is already ordered so I will take this one back to local store tomorrow and decide when the other one arrives anyway ..

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 16:12

ella are they silver or pewter? I wonder if you changed the laces it may make them look less 'shiny'?

Love the coat I have one similar from Lands end which i wore a few years ago last time I was 'thin' it is still a bit too small for me right now , but I will get back into it

DavetheCat2001 · 30/08/2018 16:12

Iike the Superdry coat lots @ellapaella.

Liking the new trainers too, they look great with the star frayed jeans..I'm wearing mine today too!

Is that the wide top you have on with them?

I'll have a mother try on of the dress..I do like it, it's very easy to wear. Unfortunately I don't get to go out as much as I'd like these days but could see me wearing it on the school run and to meetings at the studio I work at.

I don't really wear jewellery..never really have so would be unsure as to what to 'dress it up with'

I'm going to try it on with some different shoes and bare legs..will report back with a pic as that would possibly make it more versatile.

ilovecherries · 30/08/2018 16:16

I quite like it on you, Laska, but stylistically I like the juxtaposition of frill/floral with tougher boots and jacket. BUT - does it suit the lifestyle you are about to have?

Missbobbins · 30/08/2018 16:19

@Laska5772 the dress looks good on you, the frills would bother me, along with the elasticated sleeves. It totally rocks with the boots though... and I love the pattern... 😃

DavetheCat2001 · 30/08/2018 16:30

Here's the dress without tights and a couple of different shoes, and also with my biker jacket and different boots.

Another Good Point cherries !! It would I think , but then I do have a lot of things I can wear to work ..it would look great with a biker jacket also , thats true.. ( if only I could get back into mine )

Miss Bobbins it s the pattern and fabric i really like..and Id o like the sleeves and neckline also. It reminds me a lot of clothes i actually wore as a teenager in the 70's - I was a bit of a 'folky hippy' (and yup I am that old!) except for that ruddy frill! I wore biker type or cowboy boots ( or platforms) then also ..My style hasn't changed that much really all these years Grin

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 16:35

Still love it on you Dave!! Grin

DavetheCat2001 · 30/08/2018 16:37

Thanks Laska...would you pay £55 for it though...?

AFingerofFudge · 30/08/2018 16:39

it's still a yes from me Dave - i especially like it with the tights, boots and jacket!

In other Hush news - I was just on Facebook (wasting even more time Grin) when up came an advert for Hush recruiting for their new pop up shop!! So I clicked on the link to see where it was and it's only on the same street as one of my other shopping weaknesses- Jo Loves (which Jo Malone now has as she sold the original Jo Malone brand to Estee lauder) The Jo Loves shop is in Elizabeth Street which is about a 5 minute walk from the back of Victoria Station in London. Every time I'm in London I try to pop in. Now that there's going to be a pop up shop there then even more reason!

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 16:43

Dave Yes if i was going to wear it lots..(and I would buy it now if i hadn't already got the burgundy Ivy). I recently bought the Navy Ivy for £55 and I bought last years Ivy's also (and have worn them loads)

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 16:46

Fudge as its a 'pop up' shop does that mean it wont be there very long? ( I'm a bit out of touch with the whole' pop up' phenomenon works ,but I assumed it meant business running v short lease places) . When is it due to open? I do not need to go to JoLoves, that would be a financial disaster

dontcallmelen · 30/08/2018 16:46

laska I think would have to see it in the right size, you can definitely carry it off & i know what you mean by the retro vibe< I have a bit of a liking for tye-dye>
Dave it does look good on you, it’s just me I’m not in love with that type of dress, tbh it’s probably because I know that style doesn’t suit me, it’s very practical though.

DavetheCat2001 · 30/08/2018 16:48

Thanks all..I'll mull it over.

Ellapaella · 30/08/2018 17:04

@DavetheCat2001 love your new pics. I think it's worth £55 because it's so wearable. Also is it modal like the jersey top? Because modal is just gorgeous, washes well, hangs well and is lovely and soft.
I know you don't wear jewellery but I'd dress that up with either along pendant (like the star one) or some statement earrings.
@Laska5772 great idea about the laces - they are pewter rather than silver.

Ellapaella · 30/08/2018 17:06

Looks good with the biker jacket. Do you have DM's or biker boots? Because they would look great with it too.

AFingerofFudge · 30/08/2018 17:13

laska it just says "for the Autumn/Winter collection so maybe until after Christmas??? It does say from late August!! Get saving!!

DavetheCat2001 · 30/08/2018 17:15

I do have some DM's ella..not the classic style one's (I wore to death the I was a goth/indie kid in the 90's Grin )

Trying to find a pic of the one's I have.

ForeverJung · 30/08/2018 17:22

@davethecat love those t bar red heels

DavetheCat2001 · 30/08/2018 17:24
