I'm 37. Am I too old to wear a hoodie? Mine are all old and a bit rough so I was thinking I'd getting a new one but think I maybe too old now? I want something oversize and comfy (I'm size 12) but fear I should wear something fitted and smart.
Please help Grin

I’m 38 and still like a hoodie.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 16/08/2018 13:02

Even my mum has a hoodie these days (late 60s). Wear what you like!

Mailfuckoff · 16/08/2018 13:04

Is a nightmare before Christmas hoodie a step too far?

Hoodies are great for plane travel and early morning gym sessions (if you’re into such things), running to the shops etc. Wouldn’t wear them otherwise though

JoyceDivision · 16/08/2018 13:08

Love hoodies! I bought a new York fire dept hoodie on hol and can't wait for it to get cold and wear it!

OlderThanAverageforMN · 16/08/2018 13:13

There is nothing quite as cosy as an oversized hoodie on a cold winters evening. I also wear them quite often on school runs. I have a school leavers one from my DD's primary school, school logo and everything, myself and another mum who were class reps for year 6, thought we deserved hoodies for the all the work we had done for the year 6 class! Bit naff, but who cares.

VetOnCall · 16/08/2018 13:43

I pretty much live in hoodies day to day other than when it's really hot. I don't know how many I have but it's over 20, both zip and sweatshirt style, mostly from Superdry, FatFace, Jack Wills, Saltrock and various outdoor brands like Rab. Love them!

VetOnCall · 16/08/2018 13:44

Oh, and I'm 37 too!

Hookedoncatnip · 16/08/2018 13:47

I'm older than you OP and I still love a hoodie. Occasionally I wonder if I might be too old for them but then I wonder who makes those 'rules' and who I would be offending. I'm guessing no one I care about!

3stonedown · 16/08/2018 13:52

I don't think you can be too old for anything. I personally only wear one on a cold run. I find a nice chunky cardigan more cosy.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 16/08/2018 13:56

My dream is a cashmere hoodie. I keep asking Santa but I can't just the cost!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 16/08/2018 14:08

nope not too old and a nightmare before xmas one would be perfect! i'd love one and i already have a my neighbour totoro one, a harry potter one and a dr who one Grin

MoltonSilver · 16/08/2018 14:22

I prefer a sweatshirt with no hood.
Try Hush.

whattimeislove · 16/08/2018 15:48

I would wear a nightmare before Christmas hoodie and i am older than you - where's it from??

Mailfuckoff · 16/08/2018 17:36

Disney shop and its only 26 pounds so I'm considering it :-)

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 16/08/2018 17:39

I don't really like them, too much material around the neck and they can make people look like students.

But for a Nightmare Before Christmas one, I'd definitely reconsider.

DarlingNikita · 16/08/2018 17:54

I wear them and I'm in my 40s. Go for it!

Ellapaella · 16/08/2018 17:56

Hoodies are actually essential are they not? Even if not particularly stylish. I've had to buy a really warm one this year for camping (really heavily lined, totally unstylish but very very warm and cosy) and I've also had to buy a new one for evening dog walks. Just need something warm but not too hot for covering up in the evenings on walks so I got a nice (more stylish) one from Animal which is a nice cream colour and looks good with denim shorts, jeans etc.
I don't think anyone is 'too old' for a hoodie, everyone wears them.

whattimeislove · 16/08/2018 19:29

Disney shop you say? Grin

XingMing · 16/08/2018 20:27

At 62, I have two and several more non-hooded sweatshirts. Don't sweat about how old you are, worry about your fitness. Couch potatoes look like... erm... potatoes, in sacks. They are not kind to flab, bluntly.

KateMcD451 · 16/08/2018 22:40

Wear what you like OP, you're a long time dead.Wink

MenaMecca · 17/08/2018 06:18

I have hoodies all year round.

Oly5 · 17/08/2018 08:23

I’m 43 and wear them.. but mostly in the house and for camping. I also feel too old to wear them day to day!

Applepudding2018 · 17/08/2018 13:04

I wear hoodies all the time apart from when it's hot. I wouldn't wear anything with a logo though.

CutesyUserName · 17/08/2018 14:30

Haha! I'm 56 and have just taken delivery of a warm velvety fleecy Mountain Warehouse hoodie to wear when riding my electric bike (latest passion). Frankly, I don't give a flying fart if anyone else thinks I'm too old for it.
