I'm 37. Am I too old to wear a hoodie? Mine are all old and a bit rough so I was thinking I'd getting a new one but think I maybe too old now? I want something oversize and comfy (I'm size 12) but fear I should wear something fitted and smart.
Please help Grin

I may or may not have bought a new hoodie because of this thread.

S&B costs me every time I wander in here.

Seafoodeatit · 17/08/2018 22:10

Wear whatever you like! they look really comfy. says the person too chicken to do the same .

Jupiter9 · 17/08/2018 22:36

Hoodies are okay

I wear a hoodie indoors when it's cold. Not outside the house or if anyone comes round, though.

Late 60’s and still wear hoodies to the gym. Wear what you want, you don’t need permission.

MrsFezziwig · 18/08/2018 00:24

I am in my sixties and have a number of hoodies if I thought they made me look like a student I’d be blooming delighted

QueenCuntyFlippers · 18/08/2018 00:28

I bloody love hoodies. I’m 37 and have worn them for years. I’m liking the oversized ones at the mo’, or thin sporty ones for, erm, sports.

BabySharkDooDooDooDoo · 18/08/2018 10:24

I live in my hoodies except when its been roasting. They are so comfy

tierraJ · 18/08/2018 10:50

I wore my pink gap hoody last night to watch the fireworks on the beach and was very glad I could put the hood up as I was a bit chilly! I'm 41.

Timefortea99 · 18/08/2018 10:54

I consider myself a stylis middle aged woman. I shop in Massimo Dutti, Jigsaw etc. Just setting the scene. But I love a hoodie. Would love a cashmere one but I buy mine from H & M (thicker than normal High St ones with a great range of colours) or New Look or Primark if I want a thinner one. I love them. I don’t care if I look like a superannuated teenager, they are timeless imo.

Pippylou · 18/08/2018 10:59

Razorstorm, got one for the gym. Was a total revelation as so super soft & comfy. Live in them now.

teta · 18/08/2018 11:26

I have a black cashmere one from Tesco’s that’s lovely and cosy with matching wide legged pants from a few years ago. I never wore the trousers before but will now they’re back in fashion.
Don’t Me + Em do highly expensive cashmere hoodies every year?

Ellapaella · 18/08/2018 11:29

The White Company usually do nice cashmere hoodies too.

DarlingNikita · 18/08/2018 13:05

I got a lovely cashmere hoody from TK Maxx a couple of years ago for £50. It's always worth trying your luck in there. And on sale sites like Brand Alley.

TheWernethWife · 18/08/2018 16:45

In my 60's and have three M & S hoodies (black, navy and grey), I love them. They live on a hook in the porch and are so handy for popping on when I'm just nipping out to go to the shops or to the library.

luckycat007 · 18/08/2018 20:16

no one is too old for a hoodie!

mariesatonhisknee · 18/08/2018 22:02

I’m 41 and have always had hoodies, didn’t think there was an age cut off ! Love them, have comfy ones, outdoors/camping ones, ones for wearing in bed (I have a cold house) and some smart ish ones

Fstar · 18/08/2018 23:04

Never too old for a hoodie or disney

Pinktshirt · 18/08/2018 23:20

Hi I'm 57 and have a red hoodie which I love !!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/08/2018 00:52

How can you not love a hoodie?
Extra layer on top of pjs at home; gym, school run.
I just like a zip up one.
Although my fave lounge top is a lightweight fleece with a high collar and half zip.

TipseyTorvey · 19/08/2018 07:29

I have three in blue, grey and black but only for indoors or gardening (oh and definitely camping as pp said). They are super comfy and practical yes but this is style and beauty so yes by all means buy one for snuggling in but they don't look stylish imo. Instead I have soft jersey blazers for the same purpose for leaving the house. I'm mid 40s and think I look too much like my student self if I wear them outside.

thethoughtfox · 19/08/2018 09:28

Google sports lux. There's cool ways to wear sporty cosy things but with some smarter bits to make them look cool. I got some sporty wide leg trousers blue with a green side stripe from Hush. They look a bit like trackie bottoms but I'm going to wear them to work with heels.

Floisme · 19/08/2018 09:49

It's probably already over but I quite liked that thing of wearing one under a tailored jacket with the hood on the outside: a bit silly but the best trends often are.

Dollymixture22 · 19/08/2018 11:18

I dislike rules for what people can and can’t wear in their own leisure time. If you feel comfortable in an item and you think it looks good go ahead. Own your style!

My dad is in his seventies and wears hoodies when walking in the park etc. Great for casual oytdoor activities.
