It doesn't look like much in the pics but the belt is really long and versatile so you can either wear it loose or wrap it round a couple of times for a more 'cinched-in' look. The skirt length is very flattering and there are three huge pockets!

The khaki version arrived today and I loved it so much that I've just ordered the blue as well. i have never ever done that before.

Size down, though - it comes up big. I thank you Grin

Belts which tie like that always accentuate my stomach...it's not huge either...but a fabric belt seems to make it look bigger.

MadMags · 18/06/2018 22:39

Jesus!

Sorry but that's hideous. Though the other ones linked are worse, if that helps!

It's probably lovely on you, but my rule of thumb is if it makes a model look like shit, I'm not even going to bother!

Inertia · 18/06/2018 22:45

And how many clothing coupons from my ration book @UnnecessaryFennel ?

OnlyonMN · 18/06/2018 22:45

To be fair, that model does look fairly harassed.

grannybiker · 18/06/2018 22:48

Linen also needs ironing and creases hideously when wearing, especially if you sit down. That alone would put me off.
The high price would put the kiss of death onto it! If you can afford £100 for a rather dowdy dress, please consider buying something more cheery!

PolkaHots · 18/06/2018 22:48

I think what you mean, is that it is incredibly flattering on you

We are all different shapes and sizes. Anything that ties round the waist makes me look like a sack of spuds.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/06/2018 22:52

Every dress on that site looks like a costume for the handmaid’s tale. Just needs a bonnet

TheWizardofWas · 18/06/2018 23:13

Long belt like that always ends up dipping in the loo with me. Not good.

LapsedHumanist · 18/06/2018 23:18

Amish, Martha, Magdalen Laundry, Sackcloth and Ashes, Sister Wife...

It’s religious oppression as a dress

Although the hussy is showing her ankles...Burn her for she is a witch.

MorrisZapp · 18/06/2018 23:19

H&M have similar pocketed sack dresses in a range of colours including khaki, black and sunny stripes for £12.99.

Knee length so much more flattering for many.

gummywitch · 18/06/2018 23:37

Sorry but I'd feel like Catweazle in that. The sandals dont help. (Or wife of Catweazle, if he ever had one.) That said, I've just recommended some floaty tent dresses from Everything 5 on a beach wear thread on here and realised they might actually be a tiny bit Catweazle-like, if instead of vibrant summer shades they were an earthy sludge colour

CountFosco · 19/06/2018 08:24

Gorgeous classy dress, kind of dress I wish I could wear but too short and curvy Sad.

Thespringsthething · 19/06/2018 08:30

JuicySwan this really made me laugh.

It is the opposite of what I'm looking for in clothes- I need shape, more structure, to look a bit attractive as I tend towards the frump now I'm late forties. I literally cannot imagine how bad I would look in this dress and luckily for the general population, they will never find out.

Floisme · 19/06/2018 08:42

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Toast. I can’t bear the pretentious faux spiritual vibe and I’m not really into their dresses. But their trousers are great and I’ve even on occasion saved up to pay full price. In about 10 years of buying I’ve only ever had one dud and that was dealt with instantly and flawlessly. I’m a H&M fan too but when it comes to quality there’s no comparison.

MuckyMare · 19/06/2018 08:43

It's so boring. It looks like a potato sack

Littletinyraindrops · 19/06/2018 09:09

I'd be one of those people you'd roll your eyes at as I'd wear it back to front, the correct way looks like a sack. Grin

Uyulala · 19/06/2018 09:14

It looks frumpy (especially with those sandals) and way too expensive to me. The colour does it no favours.

Wuss2018 · 19/06/2018 09:18

It's awful. No shape to it and certainly not flattering- awful colours too for summer. I can't believe anyone would think it's nice.

Oliversmumsarmy · 19/06/2018 09:22

I think for the right shape it would look great but on me it would be awful.

lenalove · 19/06/2018 10:02

Love a well-cut linen dress! Also happy to pay more if it means not scratchy/better fit Smile

RoseWhiteTips · 19/06/2018 10:35

Toast clothing is very good quality but can be a bit drab. Like the dress, though.

RoseWhiteTips · 19/06/2018 10:36

Think it could be layered up too.

Wildlingofthewest · 19/06/2018 10:41

It looks like a potato sack....
An overpriced potato sack at that.....!

Hopefully it looks dramatically different when it on!!!

LanaorAna2 · 19/06/2018 13:36

I ache for stuff like this but I am always aware Toast stylists are some of the best on the planet. Ie what makes pic look great may not be what makes me look the same.
