Honestly, am I too old for this?

www.riverisland.com/p/brown-leopard-print-plisse-belted-playsuit-721759

Spotted this in my local RI, but will have to order online as couldn't get my size in store (hence no photo of me actually wearing it) BUT, am I told old at 38 for a leopard print playsuit? Am I venturing into mutton territory?

I'm 5' 3" and a size 6-8. Small boobs and my legs are my best feature.

I'd wear it casually with black tights and black ankle chunky heel boots, or if I was wearing it as a 'going out' outfit, with black heels and tanned legs.

of course you are not too old!!!! don't be ridiculous!! xx

tierraJ · 15/06/2018 20:19

It's fine.

namechangedtoday15 · 15/06/2018 20:21

I'd say yes (sorry!). I'd say you've got to be early 20s or late teens (Love Island kinda age Smile) to not look Bet Lynch-esque!

GrumpyOldMare · 15/06/2018 20:22

That's hideous! I would have never worn that at your age but I'm rather conservative in my dress sense so probably best to ignore my advice!

LadyB49 · 15/06/2018 20:24

It certainly is not classy.
I think it's awful. Sorry.

crunchtime · 15/06/2018 20:24

You're not too old but it's bloody horrible

SoftSheen · 15/06/2018 20:25

Honestly, I think that kind of thing is best left to the under 25s. However, if you feel good in it, then wear it.

SoddingUnicorns · 15/06/2018 20:26

No I don’t think you’re too old. I love it! I’m also far, far too round (my shape is less apple and more baked tattie) to wear it, so go for it!

nottinghillgrey · 15/06/2018 20:28

Not too old at all Grin

Wallabyone · 15/06/2018 20:32

Is probably wear it on holiday, with a pair of flats and a tan-I'm nearly 36!

DistanceCall · 15/06/2018 20:39

Not my cup of tea, but I can definitely see someone your size and weight wearing it and looking great. Age has absolutely nothing to do with it. Go for it!

princesstiasmum · 15/06/2018 21:06

I think at 38 and your size it will be fine, if i was your age i would wear it, but i have always loved leopard prints
Why worry about what anyone else thinks, if you feel comfortable wear it
I love it

pieceofpurplesky · 15/06/2018 21:10

Not too old but it's bloody hideous

DumbSonOfABitch · 15/06/2018 21:10

Unbelievably tacky.

FurryDogMother · 15/06/2018 21:16

It's a bit Kat Moon, isn't it? Playsuit yes, leopardskin pattern, yes, but not both together, really.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 15/06/2018 21:16

I don't think that anyone of any age should wear that...

DownstairsMixUp · 15/06/2018 21:17

Not too old at all I agree but it's disgusting

Cecily75 · 15/06/2018 21:18

Not something I would wear, but if you like it then you're definitely not too old. It'll probably look lovely on your height & size. I'm 40s and I rock a leopard maxi dress Grin

ScreenQueen · 15/06/2018 21:18

Beachwear only imho

DramaAlpaca · 15/06/2018 21:20

God no. It's awful at any age. Might just about be acceptable on a teenager. Sorry OP.

Atalune · 15/06/2018 21:21

I love it, as Caitlin Moran says- leopard print is a neutral!

I like the ideas of wearing it with flats and a big straw bag for the beach.

Maybe with a black biker and black booties for a night out.

Wear what you like, you’ve got the figure and toned/tanned legs will look lush with it.

MumofBoysx2 · 15/06/2018 21:21

I saw the top half then scrolled down and it's a bit tarty for anyone really, shame because with long legs it would probably have looked quite nice.

CountFosco · 15/06/2018 21:31

You'te tiny, go for it. You're a long time dead and there's no gap between frump and mutton so wear what you want and enjoy!

Chocadoodledoo · 15/06/2018 21:36

I asked hubby because I thought maybe he would be more forgiving than me because I thought no, mutton- which was your concern- but I’m a bit old lady-ish so I would think that’s for a teen- 25 year old.

He said it depends how old you actually look. If you only look 29 -32 then it would be ok ish. If you look your actual age then nope.

Jimwenttothedarklandsagain · 15/06/2018 21:45

If you have good legs and a smooth chest/neck then fine but it is kind of hideous. Sorry.
