This is really embarrassing but could you please tell me which dress you prefer?

I would never normally do this, being the size of an elephant and everything, but I have a wedding very soon and need to pick a dress. Have had mixed opinions so far so hoping to get more opinions (sorry about the state of my living room as well)

Please try not to laugh at my headless pictures, I've name changed as I post quite a lot and don't want to be outed

The green I feel more comfortable in as it doesn't cling, is comfy and is my favourite colour. But the high neckline makes my already huge boobs look matronly (I am wearing a new, well fitting bra so it's not the bra making them look saggy but the dress!)

The blue I prefer the neckline but feel the top is too big and the bottom part too small (hate that you can see my tummy as well )

I have ginger hair, blue eyes and as you can see, Casper skin!!

Any tips on how you would style either dress? I have no idea! I can only wear small heels but would prefer flats even though I don't think they would go. The shoes I'm wearing are just to see what the dresses look like with tights and shoes! Oh, and to make it more difficult I need size 9 extra wide fit so not many places I can buy shoes from Sad

Please help me!!

Wear the green but with fancy shoes and something vintage in your hair (ifbyour nit wearing a hat). A pearl/diamante comb.

LuxuryTime · 13/06/2018 20:33

I’m the same colouring (hair, translucent skin, eyes) as you with a very similar figure, big boobed hourglass Grin

I have soooo many clothes in that green, jewel colours are perfect with our porcelain skin and red hair Smile

I’d do the green dress with gold shoes, bag and accessories. No tights at all for me and no fake tan either. So we’ve got milk bottle legs, better to accept them and be comfortable for the day! Flowers

Orlandointhewilderness · 13/06/2018 20:34

gorgeous figure. DEF the green (from a fellow redhead!). it makes your boobs look great and enhances your waist. The blue makes all that disappear. I agree though, either no tights or nude ones. and heels, obviously!

oooompa · 13/06/2018 20:38

You're all wonderful! Thanks

Thank you so much for being so nice, I'm a little bit teary Blush

I think I will go for the green, it's what is most "me" and with it being a bit more floaty I think I'll just feel more comfortable. I'm the type of person who compares myself to every single other woman I see (all the time, DP hates it!) and I really don't have any sense of style.

I'm desperately trying to lose weight and I'm living in scruffy baggy clothes as I don't want to buy nicer things in this size. But that then means that most of the time I do look a mess. I am envious of anyone who is confident in the way they look and wear whatever the hell they want no matter their size! Now I'll shut up because I'm sounding like a bore Grin

For the jewellery I was thinking for the green to focus more on earrings than a necklace? If the green had a V neckline I would go for a statement gold necklace but do you think that type of necklace would sit correctly on the green? It does have that little slit on the front so I worry it would look silly!

Sorry I can't go back and tag different people's usernames as the app wouldn't let me post when I tried before, but to the poster who put the link to those blue floral shoes, I actually really like them, do you think they would go with the green?

And I love those vintage shoes that another person linked, I'd just worry they wouldn't have my size! I shall browse the websites I know do my size and see if I find anything, it doesn't help that I'm on a very tight maternity leave budget Sad

Dangly earrings would be prettier and more fashion forward than a statement necklace, but keep it simple with hat/headgear options if you go that way..... maybe just a nice slide kind of thing maybe.

Those patterned shoes would look ace but if its a summer wedding not to go too dark?

MrsMoastyToasty · 13/06/2018 20:45

I'm going to rock the boat and say I don't like either of them. They both appear to be nice day dresses but not weddingy. I think that you would look good in a tea dress or prom dress, especially if youre doing a retro hairstyle. Elsies Attic do some lovely ones.

DavetheCat2001 · 13/06/2018 20:45

I agree with nearly everyone, think the green looks lovely on you x

makeupmaven · 13/06/2018 20:46

The neckline on blue is more flattering. But overall green looks better.

makeupmaven · 13/06/2018 20:47

I'm in agreement with MrsMoastyToasty though - you could do better and prettier than both of those!

Lavalamped · 13/06/2018 20:49

I love the green one, the neckline looks great. The whole dress gives you a lovely shape. I have one similar style dress and it's my favourite

EstrellaDamn · 13/06/2018 20:49

You're not as big as you think you are!

The green is nice, I just don't think it's dressy enough for a wedding. I'd wear it to work.

Reallylosingitthistime · 13/06/2018 20:49

What about something like this? They are quite low and I have them, they have comfort lining inside. They are in stock in sale in a 9 wide

This is really embarrassing but could you please tell me which dress you prefer?
Lavalamped · 13/06/2018 20:52

I wouldn't wear a necklace with green. With my similar dress in black I wore a choker (which I lost after a few drinks Confused)

Reallylosingitthistime · 13/06/2018 20:52

Also the tights... you need the primark shape wear ones, they are ladder reaistant, suck you in great and come in 30 denier which is just right to wear black tights but not look too wintery!

saganorenscoat · 13/06/2018 20:56

You look stunning in the green

Candlelight123 · 13/06/2018 20:59

I would say no necklace but big gold statement earrings. The green dress is fab btw

wtffgs · 13/06/2018 21:14

The green is a gorgeous colour and a lovely cut. Enjoy yourself!

Btw you do not look like an elephant

paulweller73Murielswedding · 13/06/2018 21:18

Green definitely. Blue looks like a sack.

JaneJeffer · 13/06/2018 21:18

Green but ditch the tights. They're too dark and shiny.

Ellapaella · 13/06/2018 22:03

Green is lovely. Really don't understand your embarrassment though - no one can see your face so totally anonymous and you look great.

TrickyKid · 13/06/2018 22:07

I was expecting them to look awful reading your post. They both look really nice and suit your figure. I think I slightly prefer the green but you look great in both.

Bezm · 13/06/2018 22:16

The blue would be a nightmare when you're sitting down as it would open very high. The green is lovely, but not with black tights. Go for nude sheer tights and a block heel

longtallwalker · 13/06/2018 22:18

And wear some high heel Mary Jane type shoes -
Old fashioned looking but cute. And a cracking clutch bag (not shoulder strap bag) and maybe anfascinatir or lovely pretty hair and/slide. Go to town on your hair.
On reflection I think maybe others are right - go fir good earrings and a statement bracelet
You'll look va va voom!

Tippexy · 13/06/2018 22:24

Quite surprised by so many people saying the green because the high round neckline does nothing for an ample bosom and the sleeves don’t fit anywhere. The navy dress is ten times more flattering!

Are you wearing your very best fitting bra?

dancehowyouwannadance · 13/06/2018 22:27

Definitely the green, it's a really lovely dress & really flattering. Would look great with wavy Titian hair!! I'd lose the black tights and shoes and go for a gold shoe with some gold jewellery :-)
