Covering DH's first greys, what would you/do you do?

DH has short, mid brown hair which goes a bit reddish in the sun. He's got quite a few greys now on the sides and just found one on the top, the horror! I've tried to nudge him towards one of those root filler type brushes but he's not convinced and wants to dye it. I've been trying to find something semi permanent but with no luck so far. What would you use? I'm veering towards a warm dark blonde but they seem really quite dark from the photos and I think it might be too much? I'm terrified of doing a "Trump" with an unconvincing blondy-orangy shade. Thank you for your help.

Robert on Coronation Street with dyed hair versus natural grey: me thinking he was repulsive versus me thinking he's alright actually.
Whatever you do it will look worse.

One difference between women and men dying their hair is that most women don't care if others know their hair is dyed, whereas I think men who dye to cover greys don't want people to know.

Dyed hair on men can look ok if it is (a) obvious e.g. bleached platinum blonde and (b) on someone very young and cool.

I think dyed hair looks awful on men, most go for black or dark hair and it makes them look older. I once saw a man who I thought had a black cap on his head. Turns out he had dyed his hair black. Still makes me laugh. 😃

I'll take Macca's hair and raise you Noel Edmunds' beard.

I love grey hair on men , embrace it .. men get better with age 🙄😬🤗🤗

There's always loads of "let him be a silver fox" / "dyed hair on men is awful" comments on these threads.

But what if the OP's DH doesn't want to have grey hair? My DH uses some grey reducing shampoo (called Control G or something) which works well.

Grey hair like this is so good: goo.gl/images/vx7noo

Don't use just for men - it's impossible to wash out (bitter experience when I thought it was a faster option than my usual dye)
