I quite like it

OP posts:
Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 24/05/2018 11:31

It does look like a dressing gown or a deck chair.

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 11:33

it took me a while to realise this kind of bathwear/nightwear was actually a trend Blush

Shiftymake · 24/05/2018 11:34

This looks like my dressing gown Confused

Buddyelf · 24/05/2018 11:36

It reminds me of those little stripey paper bags you get penny sweets in. Don't like it at all

sleepymouse · 24/05/2018 11:38

No, it looks just like a dressing gown to me

OrangeAztec · 24/05/2018 11:40

Looks like a dressing gown/ hospital gown, even the gorgeous model fails to make it look acceptable. Could never imagine seeing anyone wearing this out of the house!

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 11:41

actually on closer inspection maybe it's been mislabelled

at least the other nightwear dresses I've seen have been ...well more of a dress....? And darker colours and more structure and so on - even then they still looked like nighties. One time I was in Oasis and thought a member of staff was just wearing a nightie....

Bettyfood · 24/05/2018 11:42

Dressing gown.

It reminds me of an old fashioned changing tent. Maybe it's meant for putting on while you change into your swimming cossie?

kikashi · 24/05/2018 12:20

Noticed (whilst rubbernecking what my DH was reading) that the DailyFail have also picked up on this dress - showing it on various sized women:
www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5763697/Its-M-S-summer-hit-fiercely-dividing-opinion-Six-women-verdicts.html

I've not seen anyone wearing it - how is it a hit? I don't like it

LighthouseSouth · 24/05/2018 12:27

kikashi "how is it a hit?"

right in yo' face, sister.

Fadingmemory · 24/05/2018 12:29

The dress looks and hangs like a dressing gown & has a frumpy look. Am a) a lover of blue and white stripes, and b) in my 60s but no way would I wear it. Sorry OP

kikashi · 24/05/2018 12:38

It certainly would get you noticed!
Doesn't make me laugh as much as last year's summer "hit" - that pink crimpolene frilly horror that there was a hilarious thread on here about. People had photograghed themselves in it in all its frock horror!

Made me think of this:

What do people think to this M&S dress?
YouWereRight · 24/05/2018 12:51

I like it. But no doubt they'll have sent it to every insta mum, so I'll pass.

YouWereRight · 24/05/2018 12:56

Oh, that daily mail arrival though. All the lols for the woman who called it pricy, whilst wearing £300 bag and shoes.

kikashi · 24/05/2018 12:57

You are right Joffrey Grin and M&S are still debating how they lost their way???

LoislovesStewie · 24/05/2018 12:59

You are all wrong; it reminds me of a circus tent.

Loandbeholdagain · 24/05/2018 13:00

I can imagine it looking fab on a very made up and glam person, but on me this would look awful and like I hadn’t got dressed! So depends...

Bluntness100 · 24/05/2018 15:16

I love the woman in the daily fail who said you could wear it with trainers for an edgier look.

Edgy,,,,🤣🤣🤣🤣

user1457017537 · 24/05/2018 21:30

Joffreymonfrere 😂😂😂
It’s the sort of dress that wears you not the other way round

cushioncovers · 24/05/2018 21:41

It's a summer lightweight dressing gown surely?

ovenchips · 24/05/2018 21:54

The Baukjen version that an earlier PP linked to perfectly illustrates how Baukjen have done this kind of style so right and how M&S have it so very wrong. The difference is vast.
