Yeah I'm not entirely impressed by the quality recently either seek

Part of the reason why I couldn't be arsed to wait and see if a different Portobello they might send me was in better nick than the one I have decided to keep!

May be worth us making a comment on their FB page as the quality control leaves a lot to be desired!

neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 11:48

Well I just noticed a hole in my linen bf jumper - the pink bubblegum one. I mean, its not too much to expect them to last a season is it? A disgrace really. I have washed it about 4 times. Its on the seam to so clearly the stitching is an issue.

Need to remember to take a picture of my red shirt dress. Going to do that later today. Its very annoying.

Are things not technically meant to last at least a year?

OP posts:
DavetheCat2001 · 20/05/2018 13:17

You'd think so at their prices!

Stuff I have bought in Primark for holidays I expect to wear and wash a fe times and then chick as it gets tatty looking, but then you're paying a few ££ so don't mind.

Not for stuff that costs £50+++ Hmm

neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 13:27

I will deal with my dress first. Not sure if I should just repair it myself now as I have had it a couple of months. They may think I am at it? What do you think?

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 13:29

Fault on dress. Ridiculous. Clearly the stitching.Sad

neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 13:30

Dave How did your night out go? Did you enjoy wearing your dress?

OP posts:
DavetheCat2001 · 20/05/2018 13:30

I think you should definitely complain never

They need to know that the quality of some of their stuff just isn't up to scratch given the prices they charge.

Something should not develop holes after washing a few times if you have followed the washing label instructions!

neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 13:31

I always follow the instructions. Its a nonsense.

neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 13:32

Well have emailed the pics of the dress. Will wait until they get back to me on that. Then after that is sorted, email about the jumper.

DavetheCat2001 · 20/05/2018 13:33

Gosh yes that's just shoddy stitching! Like the hook that was hanging off the back of my dress!

Had a lovely day out yesterday thank you never. Met my oldest friend in Brixton and we spent a very pleasant afternoon in a pub garden!

Loved wearing the dress..it's very comfortable and feels cool to wear.

I sent CS at Hush another email too saying I had decided to fix the dress myself and keep it, and I felt the right thing for them to do would be to give me a reduction on the price, but I imagine that will not happen.

Does leave a bad taste in the mouth though...

Pigeonpost · 20/05/2018 13:59

I really should have complained about the hole in the crotch of my new harems. Disappointing though. I've left it a bit late now as I've had them a couple of months and the hole was there after the first wear. I really ought to sew it up! I'm a relatively recent convert to Hush. Been a Boden girl for yonks but kind of over it now. Got to the point last year where virtually every top I owned was striped! Did some ironing yesterday and noticed holes and stains on loads of my summery tops so have ordered 4 Hush s/s tees: grey with metallic stripe, blush tattoo heart, scatter star in yellow and stripe star on white.

Seafour · 20/05/2018 15:21

Hi, I've been lurking for a while (waves to ilovecherries) and need some sizing guidance as I've never worn Hush before.
I'm a size 14 but currently shrinking, mid 50's so not as toned as a thirty something and a full time wheelchair user. Clothes need to be comfortable and tops roomie enough to accommodate a less than flat tummy and 38DD boobs.

What size hareem pants, trousers, t-shirts and dresses would the experts recommend please.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 20/05/2018 15:44

Seafour I think I'd say start with medium but be ready to size down!

ilovecherries · 20/05/2018 15:49

Hi, seafour. Yes, I’d say start with medium as a reference point. And while no one is allowed to own their own bra size on MN, I will ask if you are sure you are a 38? I was that at a size 22/24. I’m now a 32 at size 12/14. Still a bloody K cup though :(

Ellapaella · 20/05/2018 16:10

The quality on those items does seem very poor. Fortunately not had any issues yet. Boden are excellent in comparison and if you have any problems up to 12 months after buying they will replace or Refund without question. I had a pair of their super soft skinny jeans which I loved but after 6 months they wore down a whole in the knee. I rang customer services and got a replacement sent out immediately, they were super apologetic. Their returns process is excellent as is generous customer services, I think this is why people go back to Boden again and again. I think Hush could learn a thing or two from them to be honest.
The other thing I've noticed is that there are never any negative reviews regarding quality on the Hush website? Again it seems they filter through their reviews and don't put up anything negative about quality or customer service.

neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 16:15

Ella They used to have loads of negative comments. Then the hush team would post underneath that they would get in touch. Definitely less and less reviews like that now.
I remember complaining to them about something [think it was postage at the time] and basically they told me that they couldn't compete with Toast or Boden as they are ginormous companies in comparison.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 16:18

I wish they would sort out their shit. Profits shouldn't be at the expense of quality. They are going to end up being in trouble as its the customer that makes them a success. Toast quality also is fantastic. Everything is stitched solidly and the quality of materials is usually excellent.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 20/05/2018 16:19

..also their customer services are fantastic. I had a top that the stitching came undone. They refunded me right away, even before they had the top back.

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 20/05/2018 16:24

Yes I've had refunds from Boden prior to sending back items before when I've complained.
There was a really interesting discussion on woman's hour a couple of weeks ago about online clothing retailers. The head of BooHoo (who obviously runs one of the most successful online outlets in the world) was basically saying online retailers must realise the value of fast, easy and free returns and excellent customer service or they will never be able to compete at all. Personally I think Hush can afford to up their game, they are massive on instagram and have real potential but they need to start putting the customer first.

DavetheCat2001 · 20/05/2018 16:40

I've just been having a look on their Twitter page and there are quite a few complaints on their re condition/quality of items.

Annoyingly they get the same copy and pasted reply of contacting CS.

I'll be posting my pics and a grumpy tweet next week too if they just blow me off.

DavetheCat2001 · 20/05/2018 16:47

Does anyone here have the Camo jacket?

I recall vaguely that someone did I think....

ilovecherries · 20/05/2018 16:59

We had to pop into the city today to pick up DH's heart rate monitor from the repair shop so while he did that I had a wander through JL. Didn't buy anything but in the interests of research tried on the Marissa dress which I think someone was asking about? It's a sweet dress, but I felt I had borrowed my daughter's clothes. It was also very low in the front, and the fabric felt quite fragile. This is a size 12.

ilovecherries · 20/05/2018 17:03

Contrasted with the VBD, which is half the price, the VBD feels better value - and having worn it all day today, it is REALLY comfortable and I haven't felt too exposed in it at all.

DavetheCat2001 · 20/05/2018 17:04

Oh I think it really suits you cherries!

I love that dress..it's sold out in most sizes online.
